Anne is so good to Gilbert. Anne is always comforting, to Gilbert, Cole, Diana, Prissy, Josie. It doesn’t matter who it is she’s always there for them. The way they cried together is beautiful. That was the moment they fell for eachother and i could see it. It was such an emotional moment between the two and it really bonded them. They both held on tight and gave eachother the comfort and love they both needed in that moment. Mary was very dear to both of them. Gilbert as a mother and Anne as a friend. I love this scene so much
Anne is full of life. She has been bullied but is still a positive person. Deep down she is depressed but she keeps her head up and focuses on the things she is passionate about. Like her friends, living creatures, nature and love. She will do anything to keep her friends and that’s why everyone is always so rude to her because they know that she is positive. They always wanna bring her down, but she will keep going. This show is actually realistic and that’s why I like it

Upgrades guys, upgrades, Gilbert goes from suppressing his grief in s1 from sharing it with someone now. Anne too, she goes from being terrible at comforting Gilbert to providing the words of comfort that he needs. Their relationship has evolved so much and I love it.
People fail into seeing Gilbert past the cute/hot romantic interest. He has his own arc too, he lost his father, get a new family even thught, unfortunely according to society, they shouldn't be, AND got a new passion in which he struggle to know if it is right for him in the process, but he shows that he can nailed it. He's someone trying to find his place in the world again after grief, and it gurts that people only talk about during Shilbert moments.
Yup, thats what I think makes him such a compelling love-interest. He has his own growth and arc, and through the grief and tragedy he remains a kind and compassionate person, or even grows into a kind and compassionate person. Moreover, you see bits of Anne's personality rub off on him, and you see bits of his rub off on her. It makes the whole friendship and eventual romance feel authentic. I feel like in a lot of other shows/stories they'd get to their first kiss or romantic declaration by the end of season one, then have an on-off will they won't they type of thing to build the tension, because thats easy. But this show/story chose the hard route of building an authentic-feeling friendship first, so that when the romance happens it is believable and we're all rooting for it. I do wish though that season 3 was slower, I feel like the passing of time was a bit faster, and the end a little rushed. But completely understandable given it wasn't getting a 4th season.
