Talking of idolatry, we all have the little megalomaniac god of ego inside, who demands tribute.
We have made an image of ourselves, and that false image is quick to want things.
“I know this thing is wrong but IIIII must know it, IIIII must have this thing or experience, or i am foolishly missing out”.
To be rightly worshipping is to be truly humble, meaning not missing a single opportunity of
expressing gratitude for the tiniest of instances we can be grateful for.

Agree with your statement, except “rightly worshipping is to be…”
The word worship that was mentioned, biblically and literally means sacrifice as in action. Virtues (humility, etc.) are not related to action of sacrifice, rather it’s a way to show love, dedication, to your Beloved (the Holy Trinity). In the Old Covenant of the Bible animal sacrifice was required as an offering to God, where as Christ became the ultimate sacrifice fulfilled in the New Covenant by his sacrifice on the “altar” of the cross, which, again, was the fulfillment of the Passover from the Old to the New: the Israelites were required to sacrifice an unblemished spotless lamb (in the NC=Jesus) which is in Exodus 12 and fulfilled in John 6:28-70. Unleavened bread like Manna/Eucharist/ Bread from Heaven (NC=Jesus) They were to have the 4 cups of wine ( NC= wine to blood= Jesus). The Passover was simple. Jesus consecrated the bread as his body and the cup of his blood in the new and EVERLASTING covenant. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME/ A MEMORIAL. Not “remember, but in memorial and everlasting until the end of time (on earth). There’s so much more on the details.

The Catholic priest is unlike any other minister, being able to consecrate bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ. They are celibate as was Christ and
devote their entire being to God and His ministry. They lay down their lives, body, soul and spirit as Christ did. This was ordained by Christ himself and testified to in the bible by his apostles and disciples. Jesus instituted only ONE church and prayed to the Father that they all may be ONE as Jesus and the Father are ONE. Don't take my word for it. Go to the source, Jesus himself, and ask to be shown without question the identity of the church He established. God bless you.

This is going to be long and I hope thorough enough.
To explain it, hopefully better, the priest doesn’t change it. God’s power comes down at the point of the epiclesis which is the priest “calling down”, invoking the Holy Spirit’s intervention, if you will, which Jesus did at the Last Supper, to change the accidents: the physical appearances of bread and wine that remain after the Holy Spirit changes their substance into the body and blood of Christ during the Eucharist.
"There are a number of ways in which God has “foreshadowed”the work of Christ in the Eucharist. He has done so through the various signs of bread and wine in the Old Testament, Abram’s interaction with Melchizedek, the Passover, and the manna and quail the Israelites ate in the desert."
Jesus fulfills the Old Covenant in what is also called “prefigurement” in the New Covenant. There are so many prefigurements from the Old to the New. It’s amazing, beautiful and intertwines the Covenants. The Old is not thrown out, it fulfills what was in the Old to the New. Continued….⬇️

Read John 6: 28-70. Especially, verses:
28-29 - ‘how can we do the WORKS of God’
      30-35 - the “Sign”
      36-43 - their unbelief-especially the Jewish Pharisees
44-47 - responds to their unbelief
48-53 - “Amen,Amen”/so be it; he starts his discourse of HIS body, HIS FLESH as the new manna to EAT. Written in the Greek, “John uses the words “esthio” and “trogo” to emphasize the physicality of eating- literally eating His flesh. “Esthio” appears in verses 5, 23, 26, 31, 49, 50, 51, 53, and 58, while “trogo” appears in verses 54, 56, 57, and 58.” That’s why the Pharisees and some of his disciples walked away. Yes, Jesus meant “EAT” his “REAL FLESH”. What they didn’t do was to TRUST and BELIEVE that he would feed them spiritually through physical, tangible means of his real flesh and blood through “bread/manna” of the OC, to the Word made Flesh, Who is the new Manna and Bread from Heaven.
54-58 - Jesus doubles down, knowing they can’t believe he wants them to really eat his body and blood (which is at the same time, spiritual food and drink under the accidents of bread and wine, so that it isn’t pagan cannibalism and is given in a tangible way). The last supper was the beginning of the priesthood to the Apostles. When they murmur and question, Jesus says, “Amen, Amen”/so be it……
59-70 - Jesus triples down “ Not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead.
71-72 - Judas, the betrayer, is to show that there will always be a wolf among the sheep; it won’t be perfect, but it must be passed on in the worship (means “sacrifice”;this is why the Church for 2000 years has the Sacrifice of the Mass/ Jesus’ sacrifice given to us to be supernaturally and spiritually fed; to offer our heart and souls, trust and obedience to him along with our petitions; and in remembrance of Christ, which the Apostles and early church fathers (please research and read their writings) did and is still to this day. It was the Church).
      Continued⬇️….
Caveat about the church fathers, you’ll read a few variations of the. Mass and how they received the Eucharist. Remember, the Apostles and early church fathers/bishops/priests eventually realized God want it to be in unity in a universal manner, so wherever you go it will be the same. Much was defined in the Church councils as to the most reverent and holy way of doing what would be pleasing to God, not man. Also, the history of the Roman Empire goes back to 31 B.C. to 1453 A.D. with the fall of Constantinople.
“The Catholic Church used Latin for its masses for many reasons, including:
      Unity
Some say that Latin expressed the unity of the Church across the world, as a single family undivided by language or culture.

Dignity
Latin was considered an elevated language, well-suited for the liturgy's lofty nature. Theological opinion at the time held that the Mass, or Divine Liturgy, should use the language of scholars as a sign of dignity.

      Preservation
Latin doesn't change in meaning, making it suitable for preserving doctrine.

History
Latin was the language spoken in the area that is now Vatican City during the Roman Empire. Christians in Rome also adopted Latin, and it became the Church's language in the fourth century.”
      So that ALL BE ONE!!!

    • @jr9779
      @jr9779 Месяц назад

Just reading scripture, the text in the Bible, is it the same as understanding the translation of the language at the time, but also the language of the actual writings of the Bible. Hebrew in mostly Greek, some Aramaic and some Latin in NC.
      Re: NC
“Currently, 1,600 Jewish epitaphs (funerary inscriptions) are extant from ancient Judea dating from 300 BC to 500 AD. Approximately 70 percent are in Greek, about 12 percent are in Latin, and only 18 percent are in Hebrew or Aramaic.” So, one needs to understand the difference in meaning of the English translation related to the original language.

Great video, I'd have to say though I don't think Catholics and Protestants differ too much on their position on priest. The Catachism of the Catholic Church has this to say
1547 "The ministerial or hierarchical priesthood of bishops and priests, and the common priesthood of all the faithful participate, "each in its own proper way, in the one priesthood of Christ." While being "ordered one to another," they differ essentially.22 In what sense? While the common priesthood of the faithful is exercised by the unfolding of baptismal grace --a life of faith, hope, and charity, a life according to the Spirit--, the ministerial priesthood is at the service of the common priesthood. It is directed at the unfolding of the baptismal grace of all Christians. The ministerial priesthood is a means by which Christ unceasingly builds up and leads his Church. For this reason it is transmitted by its own sacrament, the sacrament of Holy Orders"
It seems while all people are called to be priests it comes to your vocation as far as how you will carry out your priesthood.
    May God bless you all!

One of the biggest temptations we Catholics face is to turn the Roman Catholic church itself into an idol. We need to remember that we are followers of Jesus sent to evangelize the world, and that is the essence of what it means to be Catholic...

@@andy41417 A holy, catholic, and apostolic church is not confined by sectarian boundaries. "...a lawyer, asked Jesus a question to test him. “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’" (Matt: 22: 35-37). The biggest temptation for any person is the temptation that succeeds in luring that person into sin. When anyone - including Catholics like me - yields to the temptation to think their Church has a monopoly on the flow of God's grace, that person has fallen into the sin of idolizing their church. I know people of many denominations, including Catholics, who think only the members of their church will be saved. Quite frankly, for any mere mortal or any church to usurp the role of Jesus and judge who God will find accept is idolatry. The seven deadly sins most certainly do lure people to sin because whatever the deadly sin they commit, they first turn it into an idol and give it priority of God's will...

We Catholics believe in the priesthood of all, but ordained priesthood & episcopate is elevated because Jesus didn't ordain everyone. He chose the 12 and in the Acts, they chose Matthias to replace Judas who has abandoned his office.
But we all can offer up everything we have to God as we are all priests. In Numbers, there are different kinds of priesthood, in Timothy, there's diaconate, presbyterate, all performing sacrificial offering to God but each doing what is rightly ordered for him to do. Not scattered but one, so effectively, it is One if everything act their part. That's why we hv one body but different organs.

Although I have to admit, if God wanted to prove he has nothing to do with catholicism, he chose a fairly effective method!
You're missing the most important part of the entire disgusting mess.
According to catholics, this is God's church.
This is the God that created the heavens and the earth and everything therein and on.
This is the church that Jesus is returning to take up with him to rule and reign for eternity.
It is also the church that, according to scripture, is clothed in pure white and is spotless and blameless and an outstanding testimony to God.
Point A. If this was indeed God's Church, God would have dealt with that mess at its inception.
Point B. Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Do you actually believe that that scripture describes the catholic religion?
Or, if indeed this is God's church (which it absolutely isn't) that God was powerless to intervene?

Jesus promises he would build his church and the gates of hell will not prevail.
      Matthew 28:19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
      Matthew 18
15 “If your brother or sister[a] sins,[b] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[c] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as a tax collector
We see early Christian’s use the church to settle the dispute of circumcision. The council of Jerusalem.
