Hey guys! We wanted to show you our hallway renovation but it's not quite ready yet -so here is a quick video with tips for silicone around the inside of a window. Any questions let us know below :)
Thank you so much for simplifying this whole process and making me finally be able try this.
So great to hear this! Hope it goes well!
This video gave me confidence to
do a. job i’ve been putting off for months. (Ripped out old sealant &
worried about the finish..hadn’t considered using the moulding blocks). Thanks
So great to hear this! Hope it went well!
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for an excellent video. Well done 👍❤️
Thank you- glad it was useful!
Very informative video , thanks
Glad it was helpful!
i am renting and the bedroom windows are letting a big breeze in. so taken away the plastic trim to discover where the window offers up to the mullions there is gaps so expanding foam around then putting trim back on. its annoying knowing that window fitters dont put ant insulation around where it meets the brick. something that is expandable. now when the next breezy day comes along it will be fine also got to reseal outsidw the windows aswell
what about when it's really cold.......brrrrrrr
Can I use it to fill hole in wall caused by nails?
This type of silicone is not paintable so I wouldn't recommend it. You can buy paintable caulk in tubes that would work to fill nail holes but I would recommend something like Polyfilla for the best finish👍
Hej wujek
And what happens when it shrinks?
It doesn't shrink like regular painters caulk because we used sanitary grade silicone- so you don't get any cracking or shrinking 👍
None of these videos show the top side of the window being caulked.
It's the same process as the bottom just a little more fiddly 😉 if you have a specific question let us know and we'll do our best to help! 👍
@@mountainbreezediy6802 The issue is with the caulk gun not cooperating with the gun holder. Gravity becomes the enemy
All I wanted to see is how you did the inside corners and you didn't show that :(
Aw I'm sorry! I do it over two days normally- verticals first and then horizontal. That way you can get a crisp angular finish where the two meet. 👍
@@mountainbreezediy6802 excellent thank you!
Haha out of 100 of these videos, maybe two will be able to actually do an inside corner perfectly without tooling. I don't tool my caulking and it's almost perfect every time..
Especially against a wood, concrete or vinyl siding, you don't want to have to tool it.
