Just purchased a 1999 911 and it needs motor mounts. I did a little research and your video is exactly the info I was looking for! Thanks for all of the time and work you put into this.
@@CarFanatic The mod worked great! I wanted a stiffer than stock mount but not solid. Made a huge difference. My shocks are not as bad as I thought without the engine doing the Hulu every time I hit a bump. Thanks for taking the time to do this and document it!
Hey mate, Thanks for putting up this really great video. Its really refreshing to see people doing well-thought-out 'hacks' on Porsches - so many Porsche owners just buy shit sold to them and never stop to consider little improvements on top of stock components - really great stuff, keep it up man!
Man, this was a pretty cool video. I’ve never heard of this hack, but if it works and the polyurethane holds up for a while this is a pretty slick way to “tune” your engine mounts to what’s right for each individual. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for a really good video!😎 Would you happen to know if another 3M window weld can be used with same result?? The one you use have part number 08609. The one i can get here in Europe has 08603. But i can not figure out if i can use this and have same positive result as you🥴
thanks for the idea. I actually bought a set of oem mounts but haven't installed them yet. I just got some windo weld so will give it a shot. so far have you noticed anything negative at all with this mod? thanks for your videos.
Great idea! I just watched your adjustable engine mount video again and posted a couple of questions. Do you still have the adjustable engine mounts? Thank you.
You’re becoming the 997 engine mount master!! Your videos are so clear and practical. One question…what is your opinion on the criticism of semi/solid engine mounts being bad for engines because they can cause knocking? I saw that in another video and in some threads. But at the same time in Rennlist I also see data suggesting it’s not an issue.
I have no proof one way or the other. But, the car definitely feels faster with the semi solid mounts. It could be a placebo effect, but throttle response and body roll are impressed for sure. I don't think the vibrations are harsh enough to set off the knock sensor.
Vibration? hell a lot. I did this on my Elantra 2008 and it was the biggest mistake I ever done. I had to replace them again for stupid. Well, at least I know what mean to be stupid.
Good video and information. I liked how you speed up through certain parts and didn’t have annoying techno music. Good comparison vids too. Good job!
Thanks Frank! Hope you're subscribed to the channel.

Thanks for the feedback! Let me know how the mod goes for you!

Thanks for this great video... I may try it this spring when the car comes out of hibernation!
Keep me posted! I may be doing some more restorations using this method. My rear strut mount is rattling a little.

My pleasure! Thanks for the support as always.
Great informative video 💪
Just did this last night, was pretty easy, went with the softer locktite option, now need to wait a few days for everything to cure
Nice, let me know how you like it.
Car Fanatic how long did you let it cure? I am at 4 days now, likely going to give it a full 6
엄청난 영상입니다. 최고라고 느낍니다. 대한민국에서.
What's the durability like of this mod?
Great job
Thank you for showing this. Great info!
Glad you enjoyed it!

It will probably work as long as it isnt too hard or too soft
Great video ❤
Good review. Alot of time spent. We thank you!
Thanks for your support!
Hi great vid! I'm sorry I'm a novice, but what does NVH stand for?
Noise, vibration, and harshness.
thanks for the idea. I actually bought a set of oem mounts but haven't installed them yet.
I just got some windo weld so will give it a shot. so far have you noticed anything negative at all with this mod? thanks for your videos.
Are these hydraulic filled like the 993? I just did this to mounts that are filled and am wondering what to expect
Great idea! I just watched your adjustable engine mount video again and posted a couple of questions. Do you still have the adjustable engine mounts? Thank you.
I actually sold them but I do miss the performance improvement from them.
Try some CF strands or tow
how's that door rattle compared to with those aftermarket mounts you previously installed
There is no extra vibration with these!
Is there a difference between the coupe and cabrio motor mounts?
Nope
It’s going to shake because you didn’t do the transmission mounts with 3m or loctite so there for you will get shake still
Cool
911 😍😍😍😍😍
Can this help with worn out mounts?
Yes it can! The set I used the loctite on had 70k miles on them and out performed new oem mounts!
It takes how long to dry
24 hours
Just the tip?

Does it still hold up ?
Oh, of course. It's performing nicely 😁
Car Fanatic definitely imma try this ghetto stuff
@@CarFanatic so you still like this version better than the semi-solid ones you installed earlier?
@@allanchu264 I do. It's a nice balance of performance and comfort.
@@CarFanatic Thank you! subscibed.
Wow. Really surprised of how easy it is to change engine mounts on a 911... I wonder if that can be done as easily on a Cayman.
It is a little more involved but not too bad
This is not how it works
