      Great information and video. What you said about the axle plates came true for me. An older biker than me told me to look for perfect center on the rear sprocket and chain. Don't worry about the adjusters being even.

      @albertstabelli5869 it’s an often overlooked piece of advice, people say just look at the adjusters and never realize they aren’t the full picture of alignment

    Thanks for sharing this. I've done all of my adjustments at the axle while trust the manufacturer got everything symmetrically perfect. Now I'm gonna have to get one of those tools too. Could certainly use one right now.

    This is great. I just fabricated my own hardtail frame and I'm making the engine mounts next. Any tips on making sure I have the *front* sprocket aligned properly?

      Thanks brotha! If you use the link in my description it helps the channel but beyond that the feedback like this is what it’s all about man, I didn’t have a mentor in this when I got started so I’m trying to fill that gap for people who are in the same boat

    I bought that tool about about a minute into the video. At about $17, probably worth its weight in fork oil.

    I replaced the alignment rod with a 1/8" drill bit that's about 4"-5" longer than the original rod The longer rod makes it easier to see misalignment/alignment.

    Will that tool work with a belt

    • @greasesgarage

      That’s a good question, if you give me the width of the belt in question I could tell you whether the opening on the tool is big enough

    You're using the adjustable wrench backwards. Flip it over and pull. This will put the pressure on the tool and not the jaw.

    "Coat the entire chain with lube" and the tyre 👎 Use a piece of cardboard to stop the aforementioned.... Takes longer, but if you like leaning over...

    That bike looks like it's a nightmare to maintain, man.

    • @greasesgarage
      @greasesgarage  4 месяца назад

      Can’t imagine why that would be. Everything is out in the open. No covers, gaskets to change, stuff in the way etc.
      If this is a nightmare to maintain I can’t imagine what you’re riding that’s easier lol

    spend some time learning about what you are trying to teach people , your lack of motorcycle knowledge is cringe worthy and also don’t make any left turns because that’s the side of the tire with gobs of chain lube on it lol!!!!!!!

      you can give advice or criticism without being a dick. Like to prevent overspray getting on your tire put a bit of card between the chain and tire to catch the overspray or use a straw nozzle on your chain lube.

    you never said how tight the axle nut should be

    • @greasesgarage
      @greasesgarage  7 месяцев назад +1

      Correct. I can’t tell you what the spec would be for your particular bike but in all honesty I just crank it down as tight as I can and lock it up with a cotter pin

    • @LOVESEXDREAMS305
      @LOVESEXDREAMS305 7 месяцев назад
