  • First i get 200ml of NaOCl 5.25% and boiled it to 40ml. and you can see white powder and yellow solution. cool down the mixture in ice water jar and filter the solution. the white powder is Sodium Chloride ( NaCl ) and the yellow solution is sodium chlorate ( NaClO3)
    next you dissolve potassium chloride (KCl) in the water. and mix KCl solution with yellow solution. then keep it in ice water jar. then you can see there are two layers. bottom white crystals are potassium chlorate ( KClO3). and the solution is NaCl.
    Filter the mixture and dry the potassium chlorate crystals.
    Thanks for Watching !

    Something some may not know is another use for chlorates other than oxidizers - they make excellent soil sterilants. BTW, dont use as a casual herbicide. Chlorates, more or less, permanently serilize the soil they're in. If you change your mind, you'll have to dig out the affected soil and replace it.

      not exactly, clorates are excellent weed killers but the soil is not permanently harmed , a few weeks of uv exposure breaks down the chlorates into oxygen and potassium /sodium chloride , in the case of potassium, enriching the soils potassium levels

      I use that as a explosive, boiling 1 galon of bleach and add 63 KCL to it.

    This extraction method, I believe that gun lovers all over the world like it, but can understand it, if you can add subtitles, it will be more perfect if you add technical essentials in the preparation process.

    Can I turn potassium chlorate into potassium nitrate

    • @mouselmao
      @mouselmao 5 лет назад

      If you react the potassium chlorate with a salt that has a nitrate group, then yes. But you don't need to go through the process of making potassium chlorate, just use whatever potassium salt you have on hand and react it with the nitrate salt. Be sure to do your research before carrying out the reaction of course, you don't want to get any serious injuries.

    • @kabecadelampada5047
      @kabecadelampada5047 3 года назад

      @@martynaskerdokas8438 i see, thx! How can you know that Calcium is less reactive than sodium? Is there any way to know which element is more reactive than the other in the periodic table?

    • @martynaskerdokas8438
      @martynaskerdokas8438 3 года назад +5

      @@kabecadelampada5047 Oh yes it's basic chemistry where you use the periodic table as a guide. Basically, the table has 8A groups in total, and additional B groups for various metals (usually neutral on the ph scale so relatively unreactive mind you). So in the A1 and A2 groups elements increase in electron reactivity going downwards (which is why we see potassium explode more violently in water than sodium in water). This also applies when reactivity gets higher, the more it goes to the left side. But since calcium and potassium are period 4 elements, they are on the same level so it's harder to see which one is stronger so to speak. But we can use the fact that group 2 elements (going right side direction in the table) are weaker than group 1 to determine which one will be the oxidizer and rip off and take the nitrate group in the main reaction. But there CAN be big exceptions with element strength so i'd be veeeery careful and check out books on the matter of which one is more reactive. Also no offense but if you need to ask questions like this when making highly reactive chemicals (oxidizers in this case) shows that you may not have a basic understanding of chemistry and i strongly urge you to educate yourself on the matter before doing such experiments. Also a bit of physics knowledge and metal work may aid you in preventing explosion incidents and might save you from losing an eye, or worse. It's how i didn't blow myself up yet because i researched and educated myself before doing anything too risky. A lot of "DIY chemists" make such mistakes and that's why we see home explosion incidents on the news some times with people in chunks carried out in body bags. Also educating yourself and researching previous testimonies for safety reasons can be applied to drugs, sex, guns, explosives, or anything really.

      Yes you can, the process is very similar. You have to take a beker or a flask, then add distilled water and your calcium hypochlorite tables (start with 250/300 ml of distilled water and 50 grams of calcium hypochlorite, you must know that Ca(ClO)2 dissolves 21 g per 100 g of water). Then boil water for a good hour. In this phase we are recreating what we do if we boil bleach. Boiling a solution of calcium hypochlorite breaks it down into calcium chloride and calcium clorate, both of these salts are very soluble in water. So now you need a source of potassium ion to do a ionic exchange and get potassium chlorate. In THIS CASE you can use potassium nitrate, potassium chloride or potassium sulphate. I recommend using the salt that you can access easily, you need it pure (if not recrystalize it). So prepare a solution of one of these salts (the solution must me saturated, prepare 150 ml of this solution) heating the water. Then mix the two solutions and cool down. To get better resulta put the becher into the refrigerator. Then wait the crystals to form and enjoy

      Mr Unknown Nothing happens because the bleach turns into sodium chlorate, so you are only contaiminating it, if you rea doing the gummy bear experiment, sodium chlorate works fine.
