Awesome!!!! I'm so happy for you. We saw them in Minneapolis last fall and it was maybe the best I've ever heard them sound but at the same time different with Steve instead of Charlie. It should be fantastic, have fun
I'm also restoring a Snark Sunflower. I'm planning on painting the ABS interior shell of the hull, what primer and paint would you recommend I use against the ABS? I've watched all the videos and subscribed, love the content!
Hi, thanks. I didn’t end up painting the inside ABS. You might call the tech team at Jamestown Distributors. They will advise for free and are super knowledgeable and helpful
In desperate need of your professional advice.I have just completed a brand new epoxy fiberglass boat and now need to primer and paint my boat...but the paint salesman insist I my paint a bottom side coat...this made me so confused as my boat will only be used at max a half a day in freshwater lakes and only be used a few times a year...can I ignore that salesman? I am wanting to paint my boat all yellow just like the one in your video...hope to hear from you in how to choose paint.
Hi, thanks for your question. I am going to link another one of my videos here in a second. I disagree with your paint salesman. for your boat and how you plan to use it, you do not need a bottom or ablative paint. When I built my haven (see video) I used Epifanes primer and then two part paint. It is THE BEST paint I've ever used on anything ever. It is a bit expensive but it is so worth it. My Haven 12 1/2 boat is fiberglass over wood. Check this out and I think you will agree: ruclips.net/video/D9wQ3qYlSxU/видео.html
Thank you so much for your reply...I will try to find a way to send pictures of my boat to you. I currently do not have my own RUclips channel of my own. Maybe email my boat pictures to you?
Thank you again. Can that brand of Epifanes paint be purchased through eBay or Amazon ? Your replies are so much relief... Boat making started for me during the Pandemic and have always felt like I went way over my own capacity... just a little touch up with fairing compound and it should be ready for primer and paint.I can't thank you enough as strange as it sound...The final stages of painting seems like the hardest part... I guess the saying" we all want our boats to look nice" is true.
I'd have to go back and look at the episode of doing the fiberglass but I think on this project I used TotalBoat 2:1 Epoxy. I've had good luck with it in several different application. I"m also a big fan of West System and I pretty much consider that to be the "Cadillac" of epoxies. I didn't experience any ill affects with either the two part TotalFair, fairing compound or the epoxy. Always a good idea to test a spot first in any project
Paint it well around the centerboard trunk; Paint even inside the trunk to ensure watertightness & a good seal in that area, I'd say...
I like that yellow colour. Gives me a good mood. Same as the Stones: I'll be in good mood on June 21 in Milano, at their concert. :)

That thing looks fabulous, fantastic job. Oil based paint the way it lays on a project looks different .
Beautiful!
Beautiful and expensive paint.
It might not be as smooth as you would've liked, but it's certainly Yellow! Looks like she'll sail just fine. Well done, Chuck!
It will absolutely sail good! thanks Buddy.
Love the color!! It looks beautiful!
It is such a close match to the original color!
Nice paint work!
thanks!
Curious to know how heavy the finished hull is.
If your interested i watched a video, a master boat builder , had a pair of powered shears that cut that glass like butter

What's the best fibreglass resin to use on foam
