brilliant video, very informative. hoping to give this a go. having absolutely no luck with pike. will get myself a feeder set up and get a day on the bank. thanks and tight lines.
i love my roach fishing ,..looks like you got your tactics spot on for the day. i also start with a cage feeder to put a good bed of bait down, then i switch to a smaller feeder just like yourself.. lovely looking roach and a beautiful perch.., the amount of roach ive lost this year to pike in my local water is unbelievable this season, thought you might of had the same problem , and i always now have my drag set right just in case. great video as always. looks like you had a good day judging by the weather...look forward to seeing your next adventure.tight lines mate.
Cheers Euan, I had a fantastic day and he weather did stay fair almost to the end. I was just glad to locate a few fish and keep them in the swim for much of the day. This was a my second time fishing that venue this year, the last time was in January and I was fishing the drop shot for perch and caught pike instead. I was glad that i avoided the pike this time.
Cheers Sean much appreciated, I did have some corn with me but I wasn’t happy with the other rods lack of sensitivity for the bite detection. When I get another feeder rod I will definitely try some other baits on one rod. Thanks for watching👍
Hi mate, sorry for late reply, I’ve never tried the union canal and I’m from Edinburgh but I was never really interested in coarse fishing when I was younger. Loving your spear fishing vids, I did it when I lived in Cornwall it was awesome especially cooking your catch on the beach👍
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing just feeder ive got more into it these days still do all the disciplines like yourself. Need to get down the MOG next year for the tope.
Cheers mate, no pike fishing this time, I had one species to target mate and just wanted to concentrate on that this time. As always buddy cheers for watching and for your comments
Excellent all round angling Douglas. Roach and other coarse fish certainly appear more widespread in Scotland than they were when I started fishing. There are even carp and roach in the local pond here in Arbroath now. No fishing allowed though, not PC enough for the local council. 😉
Cheers for your comments as usual. I found the same through my years of fishing that you didn’t hear about them. I think there’s been a few course species around even in the natural waters for some time but I think it’s more popular now or at least shared a little bit more now due to social media. Tight lines mate
Great video, looks like your hooked on coarse fishing 👍Been a few times to the big Loch, are you near Mallirochy Bay by any chance? Keep the videos coming👍🎣🎣🎣
Hi, just stumbled accross your channel. Enjoyed the video very much. I do a lot of this kind of fishing in the lake district and im hoping to get up north to scotland to do some this year. Can u suggest the best loch to go for my first scottish adventure. Also am i right in thinking that you can camp on most of the lichs in scotland? Providing not on private land etc. thankyou 👍🎣
Hi Joe, thanks for watching. I think one of the best lochs in Scotland for coarse fishing is probably Lock Ken. I believe camping around most Lochs is permitted.
Good to see you out and about again Douglas. Variety is the spice of life. Another sting to your bow!
Cheers Richard much appreciated mate👍
Good video, looking forward to more of your course fishing content.
Hopefully more to come over the coming months when I can’t get sea fishing👍

loved a bit of roach fishing at the union canal through Edinburgh, gives a bit of change from smelly sea fishing baits haha!

Cheers Josh, aye that would be good mate, I seen you had a session for the roach a not that long ago, we’re you on the float or feeder?

Another great watch Dougie with plenty of Roach on display. Did you not consider some deat baiting for pike while you where there. 🙌

There are some cracking carp in there, and I love watching them spawn.
Carp in Loch Lomond?
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing there are big carp in Lomond, but I was referring to the pond in Arbroath :)

Never been coarse fishing either but is a great way to keep a line wet out of game season.. looks like loch awe in parts.. great video once again.
Cheers mate, yes definitely a good option for me just to keep the fishing going through the year and for my sanity👍it was Loch Lomond
i'm looking to try coarse fishing too.. where is this loch...?
Lomond mate
What the name this loch?
I'jj take a guess at Loch Ken, Dumfries and Galloway.
Loch Lomond
