I was waiting for since 1 of the last Saturday livestreams brought these up, his solo discography is great, & very diverse, as he seems to expand the range of music each comeback...
And I spent the day I saw the notif/watched the interview teaser announcing a B.A.P return crying off & on, completely overwhelmed emotionally, as an ult group for me/following them since predebut, I can't express what they mean to me, it still feels surreal, & I just wish our Giant Baby wasn't enlisted atm, but this is still everything

Bang Yongguk is my ult bias, and I am so so glad you're looking into his solo stuff! I got into kpop with B.A.P, and they've been my ults ever since. And yeah, Yongguk does have a lot of sad boy energy a lot of the time. He's had a very hard time as an artist, and it's his love of music and B.A.P that has kept him going even throughout all the horrible things that happened to B.A.P. He has been open since B.A.P's debut about his struggles with mental health, and he works out his feelings through his music a lot. He also was chief lyricist for B.A.P's songs, and wrote almost all of their more personal/socially conscious lyrics, as well as producing and composing a lot of their music in their later career.
I would ADORE it if you would react to his song "Coming Home", as it's often overlooked and is one of my favorites. Also, when you check out more of his other solo music, you'll notice that he, much like B.A.P, has very diverse musical tastes and loves to experiment. Also, his song AM 444 is another favorite of mine, and his first song with an MV he released as a soloist. It's very hard to listen to and the lyrics are heartbreaking, as it's the song he released when B.A.P was suing their company for overwork, mistreatment, non-payment, neglect, and shady business practices. He released it for free to express his anger, sadness, and pain, over everything that had been happening to B.A.P, his struggles with the deep depression that had contributed to, and his guilt over not being able to protect them as their leader. Zelo also released a solo song, though not with an MV, called "No Title", and is just *angry*, but it's so worth the listen.
If you have any questions or anything about B.A.P, their members, or their history, feel free to ask! I could literally talk about them all day!

It should also be noted that, unfortunately, the combination of TS being such a terrible company and Himchan doing his best to destroy their reputation *right* before they disbanded, play a HUGE part in their solo stuff being so overlooked. For the group that almost singlehandedly defined the trajectory of the whole 3rd generation of boy groups, it's absolutely devastating that they're not oft talked about anymore. They sort of reside in this bizarre liminal space where they're known enough that everyone has heard of them, and a ton of idol groups after them (even to this day) say that they were influential, but almost no one brings them up or pays attention to their solo activities.
I'm so proud of them all for continuing to stick together, for continuing to be close and supporting each other, and for chasing their dreams. I've already cried *far* too much about the four-member comeback (and Zelo's post from the military where he said that everyone should support them), and I just know it's going to leave me a puddle of feelings.
