The chords he uses in this song kill me every time I hear it... his playing SO clean... playing both lead, rhythm, and doing vocals... and his writing! I wish Lukather could live forever. It's been my childhood dream to see Lukather live. Despite my financial disposition, I will finally see him live in August this year. I'm afraid I will completely f***ing implode. LONG LIVE LUKATHER!
Truly a song for this day on earth. Listen to the lyric! Genius! That aside from Simons drums in this. Exhausting! Luke is shear Genius himself always. The GOAT
Shortly after this he got together with Paul Rodgers (Muddy water Blues) tour with Neal Schon and played two songs at Montreux Jazz festival on July 7, 1994. I love the solo he plays here!
I will pay $10000 to get that guitar tone. what amps and pedals is he using? Maybe it is totally secret..... I'm not a guitar genius, but please let me know.
I know I am quite a few months late to respond but I think back on these days he was using a Mesa Mark III and later changed to Bogner Ecstacy. Now, those are expensive amps, some alternatives to getting a similar tone to this one in pedal form, would be the Radial Tonebone Classic Distortion (which he also used for a while around the 2006 era) and the Bogner Ecstasy line of pedals, Red and Blue which are the preamp channels of the Ecstacy amp in pedal format without tubes.
