Situational awareness. Apparently this driver did not notice the tornado approaching from his left side and then turned around and drove into the middle of the circulation. He's very lucky to have even survived this.
You'd be surprised how hard a Tornado is to see.
When people think of these storms they think of the highly photogenic ones, the clear funnel touching the ground or Multi Vortex. Like the 2011 Tuscaloosa EF4, and the 1997 Jarrell F5.
Just by looking at this clip this tornado was rain wrapped, and rain wrapped tornadoes are infamous for being hard to see until it's literally right on top of you even with a trained eye, which is what happened to these poor drivers. The condensation Funnel that gives tornadoes their infamous look blends with the rain itself, making it hard to judge where a Tornado is just by looking around.
Some of the worst Tornadoes in recent history were Rainwrapped, the 2011 Joplin EF5 which killed 127 due to no one seeing and the monster forming right on top of them, and the 2013 El Reno EF3, the largest on record, famously claimed the lives of 3 veteran Storm Chasers due to it being rain wrapped and thus everyone underestimating just how big the tornado was.

It was probably hard for him to gauge just exactly where the tornado was headed. From up close, the funnel can often be difficult to discern.

What is that?
The tornado chasers were on these storms and it was incredible how many cars just drove through the path of the approaching tornado without even hesitating. I was like...WHY DON"T YOU SEE THAT THING COMING?? It's a miracle MORE people weren't killed. And while people were saying 'no warning', the youtube weather people were all over this storm; but I guess not many follow them? Ryan Hall Y'all was definitely live with coverage and talking about the one that was likely coming at Middle. :p

@someaveragemaxrubyfan8716 all you honestly see is crap suddenly falling everywhere in between torrents of sideways water . Crap falling on your car . I drove through a huge ef5 in my Semi truck . I was lucky I was on a huge berm in the middle of nowhere! Mostly it was blowing against the berm in a updraft. Crap was going upwards. When it was past . It looked like a huge black thick cloud on the ground . It leveled a city in western Oklahoma /Texas
@someaveragemaxrubyfan8716 I think it's because people didn't check on the weather before leaving wherever they were prior. Being out and about without a clue is about the worst thing one can do when the sky gets ugly.

But I’d think with technology we’d have better alerts one day for those who don’t think or care about it and don’t talk to others who also know about current info. Even if it’s right in front of them. We need signs and noises like on our phones and subtle around towns to show there is something to pay attention to.

I was watching this one on the radar. We drove away from the hook echo as my house absolutely would not survive a tornado. It missed our house luckily.

The driver was probably thinking, I'm going to drive right through this tornado with my dashcam going. The video rights alone will make it where I can buy any new car I want.
They spoke incorrectly. 3 died in the tornado in Clarksville. 3 others died in Tornados around the Nashville area in the same day.
He had no business being on the road. I live in Nashville, we knew this was coming for a few days then had 3 hours warning it was coming. They had plenty of time to get to safety. Tornados don’t just “sneak” up on you.

You have never been in a big tornado have you ?? They don't always have an nice tidy funnel guy . They can be well within a weather front like fog. If you see a funnel? Consider yourself lucky! Those are pretty ones! Only seen one myself, and I been through 70+ Tornadoes! Only one have I seen.

@Vmaxfodder that's why you don't look for a funnel, you look for the motion. If the clouds are quickly moving from left to right above you, that's a bad sign. Even with no condensation funnel all the way to the ground. In every single one of these videos of dolts driving in a tornado, you can clearly see the rotation.
Eta: yes I have driven in tornadic circulation before. It started right on top of me as I was driving a light weight pick up over an overpass of all things. And I knew immediately what it was. The warning went out seconds after we were through it.

The guy driving the vehicle in the video is not very smart he should have stopped the vehicle and stayed in place I'm driving at Breakneck speeds inside of a tornado it's only going to make the objects flying at your window twice as fast no wonder his vehicle was totaled he's blasting through stuff like he's driving a tank
Yes I've been through as well and when you great in the middle all your gauging and everything disappeared on your dash and then when you go to the other side and you get all that wind hitting and everything comes back on

It was definitely warnings. I live 1 hour(by car) from Clarksville. My area got a tornado warning, but nothing happened major. From I’ve heard. And what I experienced. This squall line of storms had no build up. Just boom! Tornado warnings as soon as storm rolled into area.
Sadly, a lot of folks aren't the weather aware type.

There was a US mail carrier who at first I thought was going to make it safely through an intersection before a tornado came through, but he was a moron who turned back around.
Drivers could 100% tell a tornado was down with debris, power flashes and the siren blasting!

You can see the debris chasing them at the start and the transformer exploding meaning they're already essentially being caught up to.

Just watching while your neighbors die is disgusting. Everyone should be running towards the destruction to help immediately. People are getting the wind knocked out of them by debris and just need some CPR to survive but it hast to be within 5 minutes. If more people would run towards the damage to help instead of just watching more souls could be saved.

I think this happening because certain alignments in November strongly activate the Earth on November 3, November 11, November 13 and especially November 17-18. Then Mars was directly behind the Sun for 1.5 days. A certain dark energy then activates the Earth, the Sun and Mars.
