Sometimes we go fast sometimes we find the limits. Sorry for the fall but very good to see reality. We all could be safer drivers and riders... thanks for showing the truth bro. PS I❤helmets too! Ride on!
I don't think it is safe going 40mph with the unicycle. Maybe 20 or 25mph is ok but more than 25mph means I am ready to die. I am not sorry for him fortunately he didn't hurt anyone. this unicycle is quite heavy (25 kg)and when you crash who knows where this device goes? Some innocent people even children might be hurt. I don't know what speed limit is in that area but I live in Barcelona and the speed limit is 30 km (18mph) in most places in city center for car. This guy's speed was 40mph. He must be crazy or maybe wanted to die. This guy must be punished. I am not worried about his life, he could hurt other people
Glad your friend is ok. Thanks for sharing the footage. It is a good reminder of the risks of pushing a sport or product to the limits. You guys are smart to gear up.
It's not the speed that kills ya, it's the sudden stop. Source: Wiping out on my bike at 45mph, open road so I walked it off. If there had been any obstacles I would not be here.
Amazing that he was able to walk away from this one. I'm definitely going to take a look at my safety gear after this and look at upgrading some pieces.
@@jackvolta3489 You know, I don't think so, but he's also got that thick protective cover around the EUC. That could definitely muffle the beeps quite a bit.
@@AlienRides well u know there are pretty inventive ppl in the EUC community couldnt someone invent a beeper within the helmet itself ..blue tooth connected to the wheels beepr maybe? I dont know? but what I do know is a good idea! Cuz if we dont ride safer we'll be banned to ride at all. Last thing we want or need is to be limited of when, where & how we ride, and the last thing we need is some bureaucratic law that makes it impossible for us to enjoy our freedom without suffering from some fine or rule made to curb our appetite for Euc's, booted boards, & scooters. We must ride smarter and safer ...not faster!
Yeah, I agree. My dream would be some heads up display inside a helmet or something that told me speed, approximate power usage, along with warnings before cutout. Definitely need something better than a beep.
Thanks for such a straightforward video without the unnecessary hype and drama that most people turn this sort of thing into. Very mature and informative.
Great advice Sam. I would get so many view counts if we made that a law, I'm down 😂 For real though, a bunch of people have already said that they're buying safety gear because of this video, so it's working! 👍
I could think of a few others for mandatory watch as well. Like the dude who faceplanted on his Z10 at full speed with no gear on. 🤪 At least in my case, my 22mph death wobble crash a couple months ago, still weighs heavy on my psyche, and I have yet to hit max speed on my XL. Although I have grown more comfortable with occasionally "gunning it" above 25, I still have that worry in the back of my mind about another death wobble creeping in. I finally switched to flat bottomed, stiff soled shoes, however, and feel like I leveled up a bit. 28 is fastest I've been able to go so far... Looking forward to riding with y'all in April! 😎
Don't need a cutout to crash, all that is needed is a either a mistake or more common antoher reckless driver, bicyclist, pedestrian. Kids live im their phones today and bike around im their own world. Pedestrians think they own the bike lane. Cars...well they're bigger and harder and some people dont give a crap about others and are too lazy to "look left, look right, look left...turn...../ direction depends on country :-) )"
I had a cut out on low battery going hard up a hill and fell forward going around 13mph. Wasn’t wearing gear, scraped knees, hips, arms (worse), hands. Ribs hurt. Bought a full set of gear that night. ✌️
@@AlienRides I've been riding my thunder all over for about 4 months now(I live on the East Coast) and have yet to see maybe 1 other scooter, but nothing on the level of a Dualtron.
@@AlienRides Did I mention I live in a college town, you think these things would be catching fire. Oh well, I plan on pioneering the scooter movement out here. I shall not let my western brothers down.
Dang, yeah it's really rough recovering from a fall like that. On the plus side it just takes one to realize how important it is to wear full gear. Hope you're 100% soon, for your body and ego.
Always try and wear mid to high level body protection gear, wether on a electric scooter, unicycle or bicycle. This means a full face good quality helmet, good knee pads, good elbow pads, and consider also wearing a torso vest.
Amazing. I landed hands first (inverted) at 20+ mph twice and one time broke my left radial cap, and another the right (and full thickness tears of wrist ligaments on each arm). So pretty amazing that no bones were broken/torn! I'm sure he's aching today, though.
Oh yarh road rash is the worse especially during the scabbing faze, I injured my shoulder knee & elbow in a fall, but luckily I wasn't goen fast, but scabbing Sucks they crack & leak when you move ...you ruin clothes, Just gross shit nobody wants sorry for being graphic just being real :)
I'm recovering from a fall at just 17mph, 6 weeks in and my wrist are still sore and I think I will experience permanent movement loss in my left wrist, but 0 head injury because I was wearing a 3/4 helmet that absorbed the hit 100% I didn't even feel my head hitting the concrete, just the noise of the helmet hitting.
Thanks for the video! Today is my second day learning EUC, I have a KS16X my first wheel. Today my head hit the pavment , slow speed fall wearing snowboarding helmet saved me! But now I love the idea of full face helmet. Thanks again for sharing this!
Pedestrians on the right, oncoming traffic only separated by a painted line, and in a group of riders. This had the potential to be much, much worse. I wonder just what it is going to take for people to wake up and ride more responsibly. If you come off at 40 on a deserted road and only injure yourself, that's ok, you signed up for that risk. However others around you did not. SMH
"you signed up for that risk. However others around you did not." Interestingly, virtually no one seemed concerned about this aspect of the crash! A couple of years ago I was riding on the sidewalk and saw bushes ahead partly blocking the sidewalk. I made the wrong decision to try to squeeze past the bushes. The bushes knocked me off my wheel, which then careened out into the street. The biggest scare for me was that my wheel could have slammed into a car or caused an accident when a driver swerved to avoid it. I was VERY THANKFUL that the street was empty at that moment!
Idk, I mean, he was in the middle of a two lane street, with plenty of room on either side. It seemed to me that the only danger was to his riding mates around him. I definitely agree people should not endanger others, but I don’t think he was doing that here.
I agree... my KS16X can be a 52 lbs hammer hitting someone or child. I only had it for a little over a month. I don't need the belt tied on it to ride, but I still have it tied on in case it gets away from me.
What crack are you smoking? His momentum is forward on a straightaway, so he slides in that direction. You would only have a point if this happened in a curve in the road, which isn't how they ride in curves, so you're lecturing a strawman situation.
@@AB-py3eu not so much. He falls fine, but then you have one of his fellow riders try to swerve to avoid the crash, he loses control heading into a crowd, heading into oncoming traffic. It takes a bunch of little things to make one big bad one. It's very possible. I always say in alien rides videos to keep in mind that the crazier the speeds, the faster these things will be regulated. To the point that the boundary to entry will be harder, and in some cases not worth it.
*_This should serve as a reminder and warning to all of the riders of these tech mobility gadgets to be careful and be safe and ALWAYS wear safety gears. Thank you for sharing._*
Yeah, if you look at the damage on the helmet, that could've definitely been a missing jaw. I have a MTB helmet, but I don't think it would do well at those speeds. Looking at upgrading now.
Always wear a full face helmet now I'm a day one rider in these streets from my Puch moped to my Honda Aero 50 scooter to my Yamaha Gt 80 at age 11 to my -Ninja ZX-10 R at age 18 to my now 30Kw! custom Schwinn Stealth 1000watt scooter chassis that i been riding now for 13 years as my main transportation I'm 50😁 but these streets now are not like when we were Young in California in them 80,s to many people here now from other countries that don't watch us motorcycle/scooter riders and terrible young driver's bad texting habits while driving but in short wear full protection always watch pedestrians and dangerous street conditions and don't video yourself riding in a manner where people view you as a cult of wreckless electric scooter riders i been riding solo for 13 years on my high power scooters now that there are finally quality high power board type scooters as Dueltron X the back seat snitching people are gonna wine about our going over the 20-28 mph California legal limit for electric scooter/bike's and how dangerous we are while their basic car parked in the garage goes over 130mph
that’s why the %80 hw buzzer system made by killian ellson would save scenarios like this. transmitter plugs into the mbrd buzzer connector and the receiver that attaches to the helmet and wirelessly warns riders with, led, buzzer and vibration anytime the fw %80 buzzer goes off. imo, a must for any rider. don’t confuse this with app speed alarms that are based on speed or pwm, which are not exact
These videos give credibility and value to the channel and provide valuable insight for people who are considering getting into it like myself. THANK YOU!
Sometimes to commute to work appointment I use my wheel and I am not as well equipped as during my leisure rides. I restrict myself to 25 km/h when improper gearing is all I have, which is already plenty fast to get hurt.
Glad that I bought safety gear too from head to toe for my e scooter. Im guilty of riding fast and over our road speed limits here in New Zealand. Viewing this opens my eyes to the reality that crashes can happen at anytime. Respect the roads and traffic. Thanks for sharing Bro
Glad you posted the video. A nice addition to the video or part 2 (maybe you already posted it) is what type of protection to wear. I know you list some of your items in your "help me ride" section but an actual video going over the items would be cool.
Thanks for making and sharing this video. Safety is the most important thing and I think every PEV channel has a responsibility to promote safety. Thanks!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yeah exactly, it's really hard to recover when something like this happens. We put so much faith into these electronics, definitely smart to wear a lot of gear.
I’m looking at getting my first escooter and I will be gearing up ! I’ll also be going fairly slow and I don’t see any need for speed in my future , I don’t mind just meandering along at a steady safe clip. Thanks for posting and I hope your friend is doing better.
I locked up my track on my snowmobile a couple years ago to avoid hitting a deer. I immediately went superman over the bars and could feel the ski's of the sled on my legs, my helmet was grinding along the trail, and the whole time I kept thinking, "I love my helmet, I love my helmet." Still separated my shoulder but I wouldn't do any sport over 10mph without a helmet. That's my personal limit.
Currently recovering from some minor road rash and cuts, came off my 2400w scooter at 30mph, dont think im gonna push past 20 anymore lol, they deffo aint toys thats for sure
Oof, sorry to hear about your crash and I wish you a speedy recovery. Going fast can definitely be dangerous, so definitely wear safety gear if you're going to push it.
I'll stick to my slow the moment I hear the ~31mph beep plan. Haha nice to know the upper limit. Stay safe! Awesome to see Vano get right up after that fall!
I hate to even imagine what would have happened without safety gears. I ended up fracturing both my elbows years ago on a stupid 9bot P at 15 mph. Safety gears make a world of difference.
Alien Rides it's interesting that the other MSX I saw crash was also at 40mph. Just a small overlean or bump at that speed and the battery can't deliver the Amps the motor is asking for and..... whack
Looked like it just shut off. How much battery life was he at? I've hit 44mph on my 100v but that was in an extreme tail wind and with near 100% battery and only for a second.
44mph is pretty impressive. This was an 84v EUC, and we think he hit about 40mph or so, I don't know the exact battery level, probably greater than 80% though. He probably would've been ok at this speed on the 100v.
Dainese Racing 3 jacket with their Pony pants I found for only $700 total at Orange County Dainese!! Freaking awesome full race leathers setup. It's perferated so even in hot weather in Hawaii it is still quite comfortable as you get the airflow through it. I just don't like full face helmets as they block rearward visibility but I know they are worth it if you do biff it.
This guy is a legend! Crashes and the first thing he says after getting up "did you get that?" Someone says his knee pads saved him and his reply "yeah I'm sure my everything saved me"
thanks sharing the video, I have to admit the tilt back of the inmotion V8 is pretty good, it took me back to a safe position numerous amount of times. That's, for this reason, I'm not comfortable with gotway/begode , people seem to like the riding experience of it but the overall construction, robustness, and intelligence of the algorithm are just not there. Definitively Veteran brand can be justified by this. I wonder if begode will survive without a clear improvement of their products.
Agree that quality and the ride experience is very important. I actually think that begode products are quite well built for what they are, as not many other brands push 100 volts and have sold nearly as many wheels as beogde. 👽🖖
Thank you for the video, This video is very educational about using safety gear and reminder to not push these unicycle to the max. This is a great reminder I will be order some gloves and elbow pads. Thank you.
Great video! Perfect title. I hope any ESK8'er, EUC'er, or E-scooter'er that views this gets a full face helmet if they don't already have one. All the other equipment did a nice job of protecting this rider; leather jacket, knee pads, awesome. The full face helmet probably saved him from a concussion and crushed jaw and cheek bone. That was a powerful smack in the face from the asphalt.
I've been riding for a few weeks, & hadn't fallen until today... Gear caused me to not even have a scratch. My Sherman fared pretty well, too. Gear up!
@@AlienRides Thanks! I was practicing turns at speed around a mostly empty college campus, on smooth concrete, & pushed it a bit too hard / fast. I was going around 20 mph when I fell. I rolled into and out of the fall, so I dissipated most of my momentum via the roll. Lesson learned. The hardest lessons come from the hardest falls, right? lol
We all get that fall that made us wear gear... I fell at a relatively slow speed without any gear (I usually wear them, it was the only time I didn't, wheel charged to 60%, fell to 47% under hard accel and cut out around 50 km/h). I heal really fast, but I still had bloody rashes on my two elbows and two knees that hurt for about a week. Now, elbow pads, knee pads, motorcycle jacket and helmet, even if I'm just strolling around.
This really applies to all of these electric and gas powered vehicles that are things like skateboards, bicycles, scooters, unicycles, and the like. It's really important to realize that you are going really really fast and do not have the type of braking that even a moped has. This is why I agree with the poster that there are limits to how fast people should be going on these vehicles. Let's be safe folks. We are not indestructible. I'm glad to see that your buddy was mostly okay.
This is a good point, definitely want to be safe at high speeds. I would say that some brakes are really good, like a scooter can have dual disk brakes and stop faster than a motorcycle.
i've feel off my ebike atleast 5-6 times and surprisingly never got seriously injured, only a few minor scratches.. I'm good at catching myself before I fall lol.. also fall on my feet or hands.
Hey guys. I had a crash on my, much slower, V8, going probably near its speed limit of 18 mph. I was able to ride the 2 miles to get home after the fall. I fell onto my left side where I had no protection. Helmet, arms, knee, and wrist pads are all in place. I did find deep scratches on the left wrist pad though. I did sustain a large bruise along my whole left calf. A large hematoma formed and had to be drained, then the leg bandaged over the effected area for about a month. Sports injury doctor said he had not seen an injury like this before. He did think the wheel was "crazy cool"! I have since made two 1/2 inch fairly dense vinyl foam pads, placed inside my jeans or winter pants, covering each side from the hip to just above the knee, to help lessen the next injury. I'm riding again. And LOVING IT! Trying to decide what my next wheel will be. After owning the V8 since July of last year, it is quite beat up. Both side covers are crack through and held together with Gorilla Tape. My V8 wears its protective cover all of the time. Can't imagine what the V8 would look like, or even work, without the cover! A very faithful wheel. Anyway, thanks for the thorough video. Peace...Guy
Yea! Big time! It probably doesn't help that I am 62 either. I chose to get, then ride, a wheel so I could challenge myself. I have two conditions that can make riding less easy/safe. T1D (Type 1 Diabetes), helped kept under control by a GitHub open source app on my iPhone and watch, that automates insulin delivery, using software developer software to install on devises, the app coordinates with a Blood Sugar sensor providing feedback data. Also I have Tourette Syndrome, yes, mine swears, what fun, that can, and sometimes does, cause balance issues. The EUC seller tried to get me to not purchase a wheel which only made me want it more. I don't like the word "can't". I will typically do the opposite. Not to prove anyone wrong, yet to inspire what is possible. People come up to me all the time asking me about the wheel and stating how or why they could not do it. I say, "Look at me! If I can do it, so could almost anyone". Its a great conversation starter. Anyway, thanks again. Peace, from Portland, Maine...Guy
hey from the paris euc gang: I ride protection-free, for that maximum freedom feeling, but had my speed limiter set at 20mph. And at 47 I don't take as much risk. I know, you're going to say even at 20 mph things can happen, and it is true. But if I wanted to wear this much gear I'da stuck to riding my piaggio scooter and right now my piaggio scooter hardly ever sees the light of day. I've taken numerous falls on the Gotway and it's always the feet or the calves (that feeling when the wheel's pedal hits your calf full force, OH YEA) not even close to the upper body. PS: this video isn't only a study in what protective gear does for you, it's a study in what happens when you push your wheel too hard. This guy took a lot of risk. Glad he's ok though!
Yeah, and to be fair even standing on the sidewalk can be dangerous, one may trip and crack their head open. I definitely want everyone to have the ability to analyze the risk and choose protection on their own accord. This guy, and our group, had learned a lesson from this incident. Ride safe brother.
I'm glad he walked away from that crash and didn't get run over. I crashed at that speed on my mountain bike a few times and walked away with about the same cuts and scraps. They were sort of battle wounds and we all had a good time talking about it at the coffee shop latter on. It probably cut out on him from what I've learned by watching videos of wheels. I've never ridden one but would like to purchase one. It looks like a blast and probably really is. Question, I live in the Pacific Northwest and would only ride in the summer. Will my batteries get messed up in storage during the winter season?
Mountain bikers get into some pretty gnarly crashes for sure. I know a lot who have converted to PEVs and consider them to be safer for the most part. EUCs are really fun for sure and I think you'd love it. There's a lot of science around battery storage, and they generally say you can store them for a long time as long as the charge is around 50% or so. Maybe check up on it every month or something to make sure it's not getting too low.
@@AlienRides With China doing what their doing and the rest of the world not purchasing Chinese made goods, where are wheels going to be made and can you get a wheel made in North America, Europe, Japan or some other non socialist country? With America blocking trade from China, it seems that wheels made there are going to be hard to get and way more expensive if and when trade opens up with them again due to tariffs. Also, where would be the best place to get a wheel? I live in Washington State, USA. Also, I'd like to purchase a slightly used EUC to save money and was wondering where the best place to go would be for that and if that's a good idea to pursue?
@@robertlaird6746 Yeah, right now everything is in china, but I'm hoping for more options soon! There's a few different places I recommend buying from. I've done the same on a smaller unit. Thankfully not going anywhere near as fast. Mind the beep and the kickback. LOL. Glad he had the gear on. I managed to crack a rib but my gear saved me otherwise. Be safe out there... God speed!
I got my scooter yerstarday. Thanks to this video, I'm buying the full gear tomorrow (full helmet included, not just the top part). Thanks for sharing it. The other ones are cool but this one is probably gonna save a few bones.
Da fuxk how did he get up like it was no big deal like a snowboard crash. I fell off my escooter going 25mph and got a concusion, broke wrist broke ankel and lots of skin damage
Hmm looks a warm day and you were all riding on a flat surface, so incline & temps didn't play a factor. It depends with weight and battery life in this instance. If that's the 100v (combined Body weight & Gear more than 80kg/176lbs - with less than 60% batt) he was definately on the verge of cutoff riding@40mph. Same weight limit applies with the 84v - it's max top end is 35mph. So basically in short; if you ride SAFELY WITHIN LIMITS, the maximum speed of each wheel is as follows: 84v/35mph, 100v/40mph.
Exactly@@pottacoola He's well within the safety margin as he only weighs 57kg/125lbs. He's the lightest rider I'm aware of that rides EUC's. EDIT: Mind you - that's without Gear.
@@pottacoola Yeah, I was baffled myself how he was able to maintain those speeds without cut off. It became clear afterwards when I asked him how much he weighed. Like you said, I remember him saying he reached 42mph without the final beeps/speed alarm.
I am happy he is well. One of the main reasons I stayed away from boards and EUCs is that type of crash. Scooters can still crash but they are much more stable as I only wear my snowboard helmet when I ride. It is cool to see all the areas you ride are very familiar to me.
@@AlienRides You should ride them all as you have a badass collection. I just replaced my Passiongadgets Mini-IV Pro from Singapore with the Ecoreco L5+ for my commute from SF to Fremont. 25MPH and a super stable ride is fine with me especially on the warmer days that are coming. It is just fun to ride these things.
LOL I just fall on a EUC without any safety gear about the time you uploaded this video. Luckily I was riding at only 25~30km/h which is like 18 miles/h, palms and knees got hurt but nothing too serious.
Sorry about your fall, it happens to all of us. After a helmet, wrist and knee guards are top priority. Glad it wasn't too bad and hope you're back to 100% soon.
glad he made it true worrior of speed now no but really could have been worse lucky no cars right behind him had his ppd on saved him but its a reminder to respect your machine no matter what you ride .. have fun safe and ride on

I'm so sorry that happened!!! SUPER glad he's ok !!!! Please ride safe and always geared up !!! What wheel was that specifically, that he was riding when he fell ?
We're all pioneers in a very new sport. I have friends who tell me I'm crazy for riding EUC because it's "dangerous." My response is always the same. I remind them of how dangerous other action sports are, and how much progress has been made in these sports to make them "safer". However, is anything like this really ever completely safe? If we really want absolute safety we'd all be doing nothing but playing video games all day. I'm glad that rider was wearing his saftey gear so he could walk away from this crash. Great job.
Indeed, this is a new sport and it's dangerous. Now excuse me while I put on my helmet to play video games (actually maybe not a bad idea with some of these VR games) 😅
Yeah, he is super lucky he was fully geared up for sure. I’m using the fox sports proframe helmet, I like it because it’s lightweight with good airflow. I got mine on Amazon, you can find it here: amzn.to/2Lyd1lh
Glad to see your buddy's okay! By the marks on his helmet if he would have been wearing an open face it would have ended up pretty bad. What's this cutoff thing people are talking about? I've watched a few videos on EUC and herd some kind of warning when the person is going too fast or something. But are you meaning to tell me that the thing will actually cut off lose power if it gets going too fast and cause a person to crash! WTF! Who's the genius that implemented that technology into those things?
I think all EUCs sound warning beeps that the motor is being stressed beyond its operating limits. He couldn't hear them. And yeah, there should be a better solution than just cutting out the motor. Onewheel suffers from this too; see nosedive videos here. As long as people don't speed, they should generally be safe. All electric transports come with risks of one sort or another.
I pushed a Segway to its limits, safety kicked in n the motor momentarily shut down, result my face planted in the floor. This reminded me of that moment.
Yup, if you overpower it you will cause the EUC to fail. That's just how EUCs currently work, but maybe that can change in the future. They're still awesome machines.
I have laid down a motorcycle only a few times. And an electric bike just last year. The time I was sent to emergency was when I saw someone whiz by and told myself I can catch him!! After waking up from an over the handle bar experience,I realized that foolish thoughts led me down a dangerous path. Must fight those voices. There is no reset button on a joy stick.
Dang, sorry to hear about your crash. You can definitely get caught up in the moment and let your guard down, it happens to us all. Hope you're still riding.
Trying to convey that to my daughter who is 12 to make her wear her safety gear. On day two I put my foot down no gear no scooter. Period. Kids always want to fight you more worried about how they look. Smh. I've wiped out at 40 on a bicycle going down a steep mountain as the rear three apples blew out on a tight turn which wobbled my bike and sent me sliding for thirty feet. Came five feet from the edge of a drop off a nice 1000 Cliff. Looking at my helmet made me a believer but I had a headache something fierce for a few minutes from the smack.
Good message, I bet that's not easy to convey. As an industry we need also to convey that riding with gear looks cool, and riding without looks dumb! That sounds like a crazy crash, and could've been much worse 😳
Do you guys use actual motorcycle gear or just bicycle / MX gear? Because at 40mph it would definitely be smart to have viscoelastic armor, D3O, and a real Ece or snell approved helmit. There is much more impact resistances is street gear than off road gear
Good point about the appropriate protective gear. I definitely recommend dressing for the speed you're going, and most folks going 30+ do use full on motorcycle gear.
My escooter goes 32mph luckily I learned my lesson on pads 101 with my ebike 3 years ago so now I always have the time to throw on some pads nd my helmet and gloves before a ride
I at 69 years old have added more and more protective gear. I love the sport with 12500 miles in two years. My last fall was straight backwards which chipped the back of my helmet. I could have slit my skull. I got up and keep riding. It is no joke. Be ready you will fall. I have turned my elbow into hamburger cracked my ribs add bruised my hips three times. Don't learn the hard way. Gear Up! Full face helmet. I have even put my molar though my lip. This sport is very enjoyable and the safety gear makes it possible.
Saw a kid on one of these in the UK the other day and the kid was wearing no PPE and shorts and T-shirt. When I saw him was like what a fool if he decks it he's in for a trip to A&E.
Wow very scary! I had one serious accident with my electric scooter that made me regret many things. I was going downhill in a forest, and I flew over the handlebar. The scooter landed on me and twisted my leg. My knee still hurts 3 months later. A number of times I was milliseconds away from hitting a curb at high speeds when I wasn't paying attention. I'm afraid it will happen eventually, and I don't have a proper gear yet. Only a helmet with no jaw protection.
Any more info on beeps/tilt back/warnings for this incident? Every cut out vid I’ve seen is on a Begode (and fires). Some guys saying they can’t hear the beep at speed over the wind.
You can actually easily cut out any wheel. These days since begodes have the most power I see the fewest cutouts on them. Definitely need to hear the beeps though, some of the apps like euc world/darkness bot have alarms that play through the speakers of the wheel which helps a lot. 👽🖖
Lucky for sure, definitely need self control on EUCs and to be aware of how fast you're going. I've seen many people going much slower end up with way worse injuries.
God that is horrible but PLEASE if it's a hard fall, don't try to stand up and brush it off right away. You won't feel much due to adrenaline but you could very well be very injured and the extra few steps can make your injuries A LOT worse than it needs to be. If it's in traffic and you're with a group, have a game plan and have them block off traffic while you assess the situation. If you're by yourself and you're in traffic then okay that honestly sucks but don't just hop up and start running. Take your time and ease your body to make sure nothing is fractured or broken first. I've had a situation on a motorcycle where a buddy slid around a corner, fell off his bike, bounced back up really fast and was like "YEAH!!!!", ran over to his bike and tried to lift it up. The moment that happened, his legs gave out and he fell. Turns out he fractured his ankles and femur. We had to call 911 because we didn't want to move him and we explained everything to the paramedics. We don't know for sure of course but were told that if he hadn't got up, ran and tried to lift his bike back up, his injury wouldn't have been as bad. He's fine, but it took him 4 months to heal.
I’m glad the rider is more or less ok. The worst injury seems to be road rash on his upper hip area. Watching the video in slo-mo, I think his jacket rode up because it’s way too big and unrestrained leaving his upper hip exposed. I’m a motorcyclist (and bicycle rider) and it’s important to have tightly fit and restrained clothing. Otherwise this happens.
I always wore a bike helmet and basic knee/elbow pads and wrist guards when riding my 14D. Just happened across this video right when I'm about to upgrade to a Nikola and now I've got a motorcycle jacket, full face helmet, and Leatt Dual Axis shin guards in my Amazon cart. It'll run me through $200 but fuck it now I'm paranoid. Nope nope nope nope nope Also thanks a ton for uploading this.
What EUC was that? Gotway Tesla? - you can see the pedals dip forward and throw him off, so it wasn’t him hitting anything, he over powered the wheel after ignoring the alarms and tilt backs. Brave.
rgaufman GotWay MSuper X, but the same software as the Tesla, you’re right about the dip forward. You can recover from It, but not when you’re accelerating that hard.
Alien Rides ah, I’ve never had a dip forward on my INMOTION v8, only tilt back, but I didn’t try to force it too much. Good to know it is recoverable, probably with a lot of practice and many falls 😂
Sometimes we go fast sometimes we find the limits. Sorry for the fall but very good to see reality. We all could be safer drivers and riders... thanks for showing the truth bro.
PS I❤helmets too! Ride on!
Always good to know where the limits are. Sucks that it happened, but very glad it wasn’t much worse. Ride safe 🤙
I am not worried about his life, he could hurt other people
To dangerous to me 🇦🇺
Do they give u tilt back alarms like kingsong?
Glad your friend is ok. Thanks for sharing the footage. It is a good reminder of the risks of pushing a sport or product to the limits. You guys are smart to gear up.
That msx is no joke! I haven't pushed mine past 35mph and after watching this probably never will!
Stay safe everyone!
I think that 35 is a good speed, and plenty fast. Stay safe out there 🤙
Good rule to follow now we just got to live by it. 👍
The fact that he didn't break something, but actually walked away from it afterwards as if he took as spill at 10 mph is insane.
For sure, all thanks to safety gear. Definitely could be a lot worse.
It's not the speed that kills ya, it's the sudden stop. Source: Wiping out on my bike at 45mph, open road so I walked it off. If there had been any obstacles I would not be here.
If u know how to crash ur golden. I wrecked a bike at 97 and walked 4miles home..
Helmets are awesome! Thanks for sharing this.
Amazing that he was able to walk away from this one. I'm definitely going to take a look at my safety gear after this and look at upgrading some pieces.
U kno in that video I didnt hear any warning beeps from his MSX did he have them disabled?
The board s are really fast
Thanks for such a straightforward video without the unnecessary hype and drama that most people turn this sort of thing into. Very mature and informative.
Thanks for stopping by, we were happy to work on this PSA
Everybody who buys a fast wheel should have to watch this video every day for month. No wheel insusceptible to the cut out.
Great advice Sam. I would get so many view counts if we made that a law, I'm down 😂
For real though, a bunch of people have already said that they're buying safety gear because of this video, so it's working!
It cut out because he pushed it too fast.
I had a cut out on low battery going hard up a hill and fell forward going around 13mph. Wasn’t wearing gear, scraped knees, hips, arms (worse), hands. Ribs hurt. Bought a full set of gear that night. ✌️
That's it I'm buying a full face helmet and full gear. Thanks for the video footage. EAST COAST SCOOTERS.
Ride safe man. 🤙 Hope the scooter scene grows on the East Coast. I'm from the DC area myself.
@@AlienRides I've been riding my thunder all over for about 4 months now(I live on the East Coast) and have yet to see maybe 1 other scooter, but nothing on the level of a Dualtron.
Voxtek well enjoy being king of the scooters for now, but hoping we grow the scene over time! 😅
@@AlienRides Did I mention I live in a college town, you think these things would be catching fire. Oh well, I plan on pioneering the scooter movement out here. I shall not let my western brothers down.
Voxtek Rion takes the cake.
I fell at 37mph and wasn't wearing knee or elbow protection, just a helmet. I am still regretting that dumb decision over 4 months later.
Dang, yeah it's really rough recovering from a fall like that. On the plus side it just takes one to realize how important it is to wear full gear. Hope you're 100% soon, for your body and ego.
One word ..ouch
Always try and wear mid to high level body protection gear, wether on a electric scooter, unicycle or bicycle. This means a full face good quality helmet, good knee pads, good elbow pads, and consider also wearing a torso vest.
Dont forget mask to block unnecessary dust and any exhaust-pollution. Cause i'm allergic to dust goes right on my face
Amazing. I landed hands first (inverted) at 20+ mph twice and one time broke my left radial cap, and another the right (and full thickness tears of wrist ligaments on each arm). So pretty amazing that no bones were broken/torn! I'm sure he's aching today, though.
Oof, those falls sound painful, hope you've healed up and you don't have another for a while.
All healed up! I ride a 14 mile round trip commute on a Boosted board every day.
Oh yarh road rash is the worse especially during the scabbing faze, I injured my shoulder knee & elbow in a fall, but luckily I wasn't goen fast, but scabbing
Sucks they crack & leak when you move ...you ruin clothes,
Just gross shit nobody wants sorry for being graphic
just being real :)
😬
Awesome, welcome to the amazing world of EUCs. You're on the right track, definitely get a road-worth full face helmet. 👽🖖
Thank you for the upload, very informative.
I can't wait to start riding an EUC!
Gear up everyone and ride at safe speeds! :)
EUCs are awesome and you're going to love one when you get it! :alienRides:
*_This should serve as a reminder and warning to all of the riders of these tech mobility gadgets to be careful and be safe and ALWAYS wear safety gears. Thank you for sharing._*
Thank you for the safety reminder! If this video can help just a few people buy gear and prevent injury, it’s served its purpose.
I am glad Tony is okay! Thanks for sharing Kevin. Now I am thinking of getting a full face helmet! 😬
Wireless alarms would be pretty awesome. No reason for this to happen then unless you fully ignore them. 👽🖖
These videos give credibility and value to the channel and provide valuable insight for people who are considering getting into it like myself. THANK YOU!
Thank you. These machines are really great vehicles and don’t let this video scare you away, they’re safe with some self control and some gear.
Anything over 20 mph you should have FULL protection. Full helmet, armored jacket, hip pads and knee pads and full boots.
I'm convinced. Full face baby. Even on a E-bike!! Tony V is O.G. Initial response after spilling was "Did you get that?" Rock on!!!!
For sure, Tony V is one cool cat! 👽🖖
dey powerful machines. treat dem with respect and always wear your safety gear
Good advice for sure, gotta ride safe! 👽🖖
Sometimes to commute to work appointment I use my wheel and I am not as well equipped as during my leisure rides. I restrict myself to 25 km/h when improper gearing is all I have, which is already plenty fast to get hurt.
If you have some self control that's probably ok to do. Ride safe friend. 👽🖖
It was great to see him get up without any serious injuries at that speed. Great share on the importance of safety gear.
For sure, I’m glad we were able to help spread the message about the importance of safety gear.
Respect the beeps my peeps! great job on having all the gear! Walked it off with minor bruises
Those some words of wisdom right there. 👽🖖
Tonga Cooks glad you’re geared up and having fun riding. I bet New Zealand is a beautiful place to ride, stay safe bro.
Please list your protective gear. Full face helmet, wrists, elbow + knee pads, padded shorts. What else?
Glad you posted the video. A nice addition to the video or part 2 (maybe you already posted it) is what type of protection to wear. I know you list some of your items in your "help me ride" section but an actual video going over the items would be cool.
Thanks for making and sharing this video. Safety is the most important thing and I think every PEV channel has a responsibility to promote safety.
Thanks!!!

Unicycle accidents happen so quick, doesn't matter how good you are! Nice to see no serious injuries
Yeah exactly, it's really hard to recover when something like this happens. We put so much faith into these electronics, definitely smart to wear a lot of gear.
If folk are riding like this on (very) public roads then I'm guessing it won't take too long before we all get banned.
Hoping that this video educates and shows people what not to do. Definitely don't want to get banned. :)
You're going to end up like Canada, 20 mph max. 😁😁😁😉
What are ya talking about? The was taking in mexico!
A bunch of bs. People wreck cars every day and they’re not banned.
@@johnnyringo. I suspect if they were found to be racing on public roads and without insurance then they'd get jailed rather than banned.
I’m looking at getting my first escooter and I will be gearing up ! I’ll also be going fairly slow and I don’t see any need for speed in my future , I don’t mind just meandering along at a steady safe clip. Thanks for posting and I hope your friend is doing better.
He's doing great now. What kind of scooter are you planning on getting?
I locked up my track on my snowmobile a couple years ago to avoid hitting a deer. I immediately went superman over the bars and could feel the ski's of the sled on my legs, my helmet was grinding along the trail, and the whole time I kept thinking, "I love my helmet, I love my helmet." Still separated my shoulder but I wouldn't do any sport over 10mph without a helmet. That's my personal limit.
Oh dang, sorry to hear about your crash, but I'm glad you had a helmet. Ride safe! 👽🖖
Were you wearing full gear?
@@ryan6600 protective jacket and thick jeans but no gloves, hands hit the concrete and went numb for a good 2 hours
@@LWilliamsBeats1 you got road rash and cuts with gear on?
@@ryan6600 yeah? Jeans ripped, sleeve moved up off my arm exposing my wrist and forearm which slid, scar still there since I posted the first comment
I'll stick to my slow the moment I hear the ~31mph beep plan. Haha nice to know the upper limit. Stay safe! Awesome to see Vano get right up after that fall!
30mph is my limit to. Takes nothing to come off. Got to have some kind of body armour and a decent helmet
That day the helmet paid itself, always full face helmet if you're going too fast.
Great advice for sure. And also ideally never go too fast!
This is what i like above protective gear. One day it will pay for itself.

cool to see everyone ready to help, grab the spill, and recover.
I hate to even imagine what would have happened without safety gears. I ended up fracturing both my elbows years ago on a stupid 9bot P at 15 mph. Safety gears make a world of difference.
They really do, being able to pop up from a fall at 40 mph is amazing. All thanks to the safety gear.
That's the 2nd MSX I have seen do that in the last week.
If you ride like that you got to expect a crash. It's inevitable
Neal Chambers yup, that’s the truth, definitely don’t want to push these vehicles past what they are capable of. Takes a lot of self control!
Alien Rides it's interesting that the other MSX I saw crash was also at 40mph.
Just a small overlean or bump at that speed and the battery can't deliver the Amps the motor is asking for and..... whack
Alien Rides ruclips.net/video/263KKFq9N30/видео.html
Neal Chambers yeah, happened to me too on other models, that’s why I always leave a large buffer and don’t like to go past 35.
@@AlienRides Oh ok well that makes a huge difference if it was only the 84v. Thanks for pointing that out.
Sounds like you got a good deal on that Dianese jacket, awesome!
@@AlienRides Yea they had a sale on that particular color. I liked that color best anyway.
This guy is a legend!
Crashes and the first thing he says after getting up "did you get that?"
Someone says his knee pads saved him and his reply "yeah I'm sure my everything saved me"
Haha, he definitely is legend material. He always rides like a badass, and is featured in a few of my music videos.
So glad there were no cars around when it happened. Be safe out there folks!🙏
Indeed, this could've been way worse. Ride safe! 👽🖖
He fell because he accidentally *adjusted* his massive balls and it threw him off balance
Yeah, I'm lucky to not have that problem! 😅😔
This fucking killed me. You earned a like. ☠️😭🤣👍
thanks sharing the video, I have to admit the tilt back of the inmotion V8 is pretty good, it took me back to a safe position numerous amount of times.
Thanks for so important experience! Take care and be carefull!
For sure. No doubt riding in the streets/roads with traffic at high speeds is dangerous. Glad to see people gearing up for riding PEVs!
I've been riding for a few weeks, & hadn't fallen until today... Gear caused me to not even have a scratch. My Sherman fared pretty well, too. Gear up!
Dang sorry to hear about your fall but glad it wasn't worse. How did you fall? 👽🖖
Definitely, we all get the gear lesson sooner or later. Ride safe friend. 👽🖖
"it always hurts when a friend falls"
*replays over and over and over and over again
w/ that being said ty- ive been riding with a snowboarding helmet - i will go full face now
Good idea on the full face, it may save your jaw one day! Ride safe. 👽🖖
Wow I just bought those exact same knee proctor for DT Thunder riding. Looks like it did it’s job and saved your knee!
Those are awesome knee pads for all kinds of electric sports, and great for a Thunder. Awesome scoot you got there, have fun on it! 🛴💪
Peace...Guy
Ow, sorry about your fall, but glad you were able to ride it off and are still riding. More powerful wheels, and gear, are very important for safety.
Yea!

I've done the same on a smaller unit. Thankfully not going anywhere near as fast. Mind the beep and the kickback. LOL. Glad he had the gear on. I managed to crack a rib but my gear saved me otherwise. Be safe out there... God speed!
Happens to all of us. Cracked rib sounds painful, but could’ve been worse. Stay safe out there. 🤙
I got my scooter yerstarday. Thanks to this video, I'm buying the full gear tomorrow (full helmet included, not just the top part). Thanks for sharing it. The other ones are cool but this one is probably gonna save a few bones.
Awesome, glad you'll have safety gear and happy you got your scooter. Have fun scooting and ride safe!
good learning video for everbody glad he had protection ! thanks for this upload
Thanks, glad we could influence some people to gear up when they ride.
Ngl he has balls getting on a electric unicycle you couldn’t catch me on one of them bitches with or without gear 😂 good shit tho glad he’s good 👍🏾
Fantastic video. I had to laugh at the final beep as the wheel was coming to a rest at the end of the crash.
Thanks! Sucks about the fall, but I'm glad we got some killer footage of it at least to help inspire others to wear safety gear. Ride safe!
Absolutely
thanks for this. It really helps to slap us back into reality
So basically in short; if you ride SAFELY WITHIN LIMITS, the maximum speed of each wheel is as follows: 84v/35mph, 100v/40mph.
chooch has a video saying he hits 42mph easy on his 100v he also said the 84v 35mph
Exactly@@pottacoola
He's well within the safety margin as he only weighs 57kg/125lbs. He's the lightest rider I'm aware of that rides EUC's.
EDIT: Mind you - that's without Gear.
@@eddrush209mph 0_o wow i didnt think he was that lite
@@pottacoola Yeah, I was baffled myself how he was able to maintain those speeds without cut off. It became clear afterwards when I asked him how much he weighed. Like you said, I remember him saying he reached 42mph without the final beeps/speed alarm.
Speedometer was only saying 26mph at max speed and 25mph when crashing!?
I am happy he is well. One of the main reasons I stayed away from boards and EUCs is that type of crash. Scooters can still crash but they are much more stable as I only wear my snowboard helmet when I ride. It is cool to see all the areas you ride are very familiar to me.
Yeah, my scooter is very stable and my Dualtron quenches my thirst for speed. I do like to ride them all though!
Awesome. I’ve heard that the Ecoreco is a good scooter, glad you like your latest purchase.
Glad it wasn't too bad and hope you're back to 100% soon.
thanks for the video. reminds people that they're called "safety gear" for a reason.
Definitely! Important to stay safe, and have fun!
Amazing the GoPro lives on.
glad he made it true worrior of speed now no but really could have been worse lucky no cars right behind him had his ppd on saved him but its a reminder to respect your machine no matter what you ride .. have fun safe and ride on
Good points, definitely need to respect the machine 👽🖖
@@AlienRides dude I'm addicted to your channel man i just love these scooters and the fun they bring us thank you for bringing a great Channel brother oh by the way im buying the weped ff i can't wait to get it right now i got a ghost my first scooter but now im ready for power and speed i got the boblebee back pack and i love it thanks your Chrome one cost 780 wow nice but i can wait but there is only one 👽 rides and your the man from Austin brother have fun a keep zooooooming on safely bro..🙏🙏🙏✌✌🌠🌠
the road dont care how skilled you are
I'm so sorry that happened!!! SUPER glad he's ok !!!! Please ride safe and always geared up !!! What wheel was that specifically, that he was riding when he fell ?
This was a much older 84 volt msuper x. The newer wheels are now much faster so it's harder to happen now. 👽🖖
Ok gotcha 👌
Glad he's OK!
Safety gear saved him for sure. 👽🖖
@AlienRides I know right! I tried my friend's daughters Oculus once, and that was pretty scary!
This is where you get the sponsorship of the Helmet manufacturer. Proof that the gear saved a man's life
Wes Lambert that would be awesome for sure, all the gear definitely saved him. In the meantime definitely going to keep paying for helmets though! 😅
glad to see you were geared up!!!
Glad to see your buddy didn’t get seriously hurt.
AR, like your helmet. What is it and where did you get it ?
It should be gradual braking.
I pushed a Segway to its limits, safety kicked in n the motor momentarily shut down, result my face planted in the floor. This reminded me of that moment.
Oof yeah, very similar mechanism to the segway. It is awesome technology though, just gotta respect the limits.
You can clearly see that the EUC stopped working and with that he flew ahead. Is it not a failure of the EUCs? Maybe by turning off or slowing down?
Yup, if you overpower it you will cause the EUC to fail. That's just how EUCs currently work, but maybe that can change in the future. They're still awesome machines.
I hope he's okay or will recover quickly. Let's all ride safely.
Could you do a vid on different types of safety clothing. Helmets. Gloves. Elbow and Knee Pads?
Yes, absolutely. I do gear videos every so often, few times a year. I'll have some new gear videos out soon, thanks for the request.
Guy miss you guys and all the amazing action
Did you ride with us? What did you ride?
It's me Chris mathaw
Detroit12boi ahh, we miss you too buddy. Come out and ride sometime, I’m always out on Saturdays. Maybe you can borrow a ride from me.
The scary part is not the fall it's the fact that people where watching that's why I'm scared to go at high speeds
Yeah, it's very embarrassing! 😆👽🖖
So glad #TurboTony is ok. That looked pretty violent. #HelmetsAreAwesome
Yes, this definitely could've been much worse! Very glad to see him walk away with minor scrapes and bruises, 40 mph is no joke.
My escooter goes 32mph luckily I learned my lesson on pads 101 with my ebike 3 years ago so now I always have the time to throw on some pads nd my helmet and gloves before a ride
Awesome, glad to hear you are riding safely!
I'm glad to hear that and glad you're still riding after that fall. Ride safe friend! 👽🖖
Saw a kid on one of these in the UK the other day and the kid was wearing no PPE and shorts and T-shirt.
When I saw him was like what a fool if he decks it he's in for a trip to A&E.
Yeah if you’re going to be riding these you definitely want to gear up. Hope he learns some day!
It must be possible to have the wheel switch to free wheel the moment the power cuts.
That's actually what happens, but it tilts forward because there's no more motor to push it. I would love to see a better failure mode though.
Goodness gracious. You guys are outlaws out there
Any more info on beeps/tilt back/warnings for this incident? Every cut out vid I’ve seen is on a Begode (and fires). Some guys saying they can’t hear the beep at speed over the wind.
You can actually easily cut out any wheel. These days since begodes have the most power I see the fewest cutouts on them. Definitely need to hear the beeps though, some of the apps like euc world/darkness bot have alarms that play through the speakers of the wheel which helps a lot. 👽🖖
Trying to accelerate hard at 40 MPH is a recipe for disaster. Dude got lucky. Full face helmet did its job that day.
Lucky for sure, definitely need self control on EUCs and to be aware of how fast you're going. I've seen many people going much slower end up with way worse injuries.
Jus got myself a full face helmet waiting for my 11x
Awesome scooter, you're going to love it! 👽🖖
@@AlienRides thanks. Bud i can't wait, you guys be riding in sf correct?
kb lasalle definitely after covid. Check out www.baesk8.club for more info
That’s why these unicycles would benefit from a rear stabilizer bar with a small wheel touching the ground to prevent high-speed wobble.
That's a really good point about having properly fitting gear.
Nope nope nope nope nope
Also thanks a ton for uploading this.
Awesome, I'm glad you've invested in some solid safety gear. All great choices, I'm sure it will serve you well. Ride safe!
Just a cover...or did the wheel just break that easily?... new to these but interested in getting one
You can recover from
It, but not when you’re accelerating that hard.
Alien Rides ah, I’ve never had a dip forward on my INMOTION v8, only tilt back, but I didn’t try to force it too much. Good to know it is recoverable, probably with a lot of practice and many falls 😂
rgaufman yeah, definitely don’t count on being able to recover from it, it’s way too risky. Safe riding bro!
