“Hey! Um hmm yeah we’ll haha ummmm yea uh well yea” - Blayne
*flailing arms*
Those are Jazz Hands or ... metal review jazz hands
It's PTSD from when his school bus went off the side of a mountain and he climbed up to the road to get help but no one would stop no matter how much he waved his hands around.
Lol
Dude is Goldbluming hard.
Metal, uh, finds a way
This record totally got me on the blood incantation hype train
i need sprite I need coc... nvm
Also try their early stuff
Same, great album, never heard of them before, or maybe i did but never checked them out..
Same. I finally just checked it out after hearing it receive such high praise over the past year and it was so great, wish I listened to it sooner.
Same, it and they kick ass
“A rocket ship is just two fires attached to a house” - Blayne
I am not a death metal guy, but the scifi prog stuff sounds right up my alley kinda like how Vektor was.
is Vektor done, officially? Any idea where the other members went, because that band was sweet!
Damn I had no idea about that. I do know the band broke up a few months after Terminal Redux so I assume it's always just going to be those three albums and that's it.
You should check out Voivod
Yeah, Vektor seems done. Singer was an asshole for a long time according to some people. But their former bassist went on to be in Daeva and Crypt Sermon, so check those out.
@TheGreaterGood80 throwing a pillow, so abusive
Blood Incantation’s Hidden History of the Human Race is an amazing album. Fun fact about the instrumental track “Inner Paths (to Outer Space)”, they improvised that track on psychedelics over a period of several months in order to allow it to grow and evolve. Also, the instrumental track contains guest appearance growls from Antti Boman of the mighty DEMILICH!
that is so shitty and wack. no wonder these guys are such fake trash
@@deathmetalhell Yeah! Fuckin' poseurs!
🤘🤘
@Xeph Xen id rather be old than some young chump trying to pass off limp bizkit jammy bull shit as "death metal"
@@deathmetalhell ok. Then dont listen to it.
If this doesn’t get a perfect score I’m going to open a wormhole and unleash the outer gods
Edit: prepare yourselves, mortals
Based on the tracklists of both Hidden History and Starspawn, I get the feeling that Blood Incantation really love Rush
I mean considering themes they are going for and the fact Rush has stuff like 2112 and Cygnus book I & II, it is not exactly a bad band to draw inspiration from.
They clearly want the ability to have ideas that can be expanded on without overusing any riffs, hence the short track list and lengthy suite, but their death influence shows even more blatantly throughout that 18 minute song. I swear I’m hearing direct riffs from Human 1991 on that song.
Jordan not to mention the fretless bass
Deshadow25 everyone should draw inspiration from Rush
I love your name 😂
Feels weird to hear them called the next big thing when you've listened to them since Interdimensional Extinction.
Also I'd say Giza Power Plant is the same as Starspawn track wise. Its also great to hear it on an album rather than the demo version.
Two words, mephitic effluvia
Blayne is like that zany metalhead cousin you see at thanksgiving and he offers to smoke to a joint with you lol
Glad all my cousins do this.
I wish I could have a zany metalhead cousin that offers to smoke a joint with me
If you have a cousin like that WHY THE FUCK won't you see him more often than just for Thanksgiving?????
I am that cousin haha
And never shuts up about thinking everyone he doesnt like is a nazi...
Cant get enough metal sleeve prints.
Love all the band logos on the back wall. Especially CRO MAGS
Fun fact about the giza power plant. The original plan for that song was it was going to be on a split with
Chthe'ilist but it never happened.
I had only heard Starspawn about a year ago and really fell in love with it. Didn't listen to the album until it officially dropped, but got to see them play the 3 non-instrumental tracks live last month and knew this album was going to be magic. I think the hype is justified if you are ok with you DM being a bit proggy (some of my friends aren't). Top 10 album for me this year for sure, probably top 3.
One of the best current live extreme acts as well. These guys are the real fucking deal
I really need to give Starspawn another try. I couldn't get into it for some reason, but all my friends RAVE about Blood Incantation. Maybe this album will convert me.
Also, my shout-out for this week is Unfathomable Ruination's "Enraged and Unbound"
It's the best album of the decade in my opinion
Me too man I heard it a couple of times, by that I mean twice - and I didn't really think it was all that. This new album though I instantly got into, been on repeat all day, great stuff. I probably really just need to give Starspawn another try.
If you didn't like Starspawn then you don't like death metal.
I was the same until I saw them live and they blew me away. Gave Starspawn and their first another listen and then I began to understand what was so good about it. It is the combination, it is like a old school all you can eat buffet of death metal, you got parts that sound like DEATH, INCANTATION, MORBID ANGEL, IMMOLATION, DEMILICH (I think their singer even has a guest appereance on the new one) and overall just cool, spacey Death Metal without being too progressive.
i mean i've always seen them as kind of a nocturnus/timeghoul/human-era death kinda band, i thought starspawn, while really good, had not so much new to bring to the table. this one on the other hand i love how trippy it can be, of course the demilich worship is still present. that's not a bad thing either
I am *obsessed* with this album.
Other great releases:
Avatarium - The Fire I Long For
Unfathomable Ruination - Enraged & Unbound
Obsequiae - The Psalm of Sorrowed Kings
Does being a fan of Blood Incantation turn me into an Ancient Aliens goofball?
This album is fucking mindblowing if you don't listen alot of death metal.
art dept fail not to have cats with laser beams on screen when Blayne says "Laser sounds??"
Hidden History is my first death metal album, found and bought it today - I'm in awe.
There is so much yet to discover, Young Padawan
"Bit like saying a rocket ship is two fires attached to a house". Killing me!
You literally sold me on a darker, angrier The Ocean. Must listen.
Glad y'all didn't miss this one
Same!
Just now checking out this band and the subject matter is definitely a breath of fresh air when compared to the old, tired satanic/gore that defines other death metal.
One of my favorite death metal bands right now
Im good friends with Paul...he's a damn good guy.
I'd bet.
Good people could have crap opinions
5/5 skulls for me
If Blayne doesn't play a new C3PO type something in a new Star Wars movie, I may be upset.
"i dont know, i wanna say lazer sounds" would have been perfectly good as a review for the entire thing.
Cool. I've been waiting for this one! Starspawn was my favorite of the year, so... yeah. I'm glad that it's good.
THANX for featuring the new album of CRYPTIC BROOD!
I am so surprised that the Cattle Decap album isn't coming out on Turkey Day.
Black Friday is not a bad pick either
Music is always released on Friday's, I think it's a record label thing.
He's so Blayne today that I think he may be stuck on full-Blayne. You okay, man?
Never go "full Blayne"
this album is fucking incredible
This is the only album I’ve pre-ordered. LOVED Starspawn, high hopes for this record!
If you pre-ordered off the bandcamp page (I did) the digital version can be downloaded. SO. FUCKING. GOOD.
Thanks for the blind monarch rec, really enjoying it
what a hell of a band. Have to get it on vinyl. Right away ...
Just saw them with Immolation...I was very impressed.
Charles Klee I caught them in Sacramento a little bit ago. Immolation are legendary and really got the pit going, but Blood Incantation were on another level in terms of musicianship. Awesome show!
Wish you guys would have talked about Car Bomb's new record.
Kevin Hawkins yeah they are cool !! I almost forgot about them!.
AOTY
Yes have to agree , cover art that is actually art...
Agony used that same cover in 2012 tho
For the ments they did that illegally though
Joe Yuzwa A nod to the bootleg culture?
Another Death Band to watch out for is Sanguisabogg. Brad has hyped them up and they fucking good for only a demo release so far.
Blaynes body movements ↖️↗️⬇️⬆️⬅️➡️
The only problem I have with this album is that it feels so short. The album is amazing and I really just want more. I almost wish they would've split that last song into two to give me the appearance of more. lol. This album and Temple Of Void's The World That Was are the best two death metal albums I've heard in the last few years.
So much good metal from Colorado! Havok, Allegaeon, Call of the Void (RIP), Primitive Man, Cobalt, Cephalic Carnage, etc
No place comes close to to California?
@@louieflores3343 what ?
Dude I gotta check out these bands
Pretty beastly album. In a year chock full of great death metal releases, Blood Incantation did a great job of standing out with the spacey themes and almost tech death way they’d suddenly stop/start new song sections. The pamphlet that comes with the LP release is hilarious. Blind Monarch is awesome too, glad they got a shoutout
I saw these guys live with Immolation, they were fucking amazing! Big love for Blood Incantation.
I saw them with Immolation also. While they Are talented they ARE NOT there to put on a show for the audience. The vocalist barely spoke above a whisper when introducing themselves/songs and made no attempt to captivate the audience. I'm trying to like them but Nothing they've done so far is pulling at me. I have Tons of friends that love them.
This album is amazing! So original yet so familiar! Can’t recommend it enough!
Affectation of personality... Self aware beyond all hope.
Fuckin love a good Overkill with Blayne "And ummm, HEY!' Smith. *Mwah!* That's some high quality infotainment.
This cover art was used by Montreal death metal band AGONY on 1995's Apocalyptic Dawning. -10 to Canadian extreme metal rep ;)
The rocket metaphor killed me!
Favorite reviewer, favorite newer death metal band
Pumped for the review, had to hear the album at least twice before watching 🖖🏻
The Gizza Power Plant - Blood Incantation: "laser sounds"
Dissect Yourself - Car Bomb: that's cute
True haha
PEW PEW
My kids love that song. My wife hates it.
Exactly what I thought when he said it lol
Guys, thank you for existing. Didn't know about this band at all...now I cant stop listening to them. Fuck the hyp, this thing is real!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Had the pleasure of seeing these guys live twice this year, phenomenal live band.
i love this guy's energy
Im not that into death metal, but this album totally speaks to me! The sci fi thematics mixed with metal music is always epic, and that cover.... oh boy 😍
I love this album .I really liked the concept of the alien theme..it's just unique..Star Spawn was Kool too
This stuff is awesome. I agree 100% with the 'criticism'. Just 1 more meaty 4-6 minute track would have made this thing perfect. Of course it would have depended on just how good that track would be. But I mean, we know it would be the shit.
YEEEESSSSSSSSS! I fucking love this band! Saw them with Morbid Angel and Immolation a while back.
Blayne is the metal equivalent of Jeff Goldblum.
Loved the Blind Monarch release!! Just an excellent parmesan cheese topping to this delicious Italian Space Spaghetti review! Belissimo!
Great album. and also I just checked out the shout outs and Blind Monarch is honestly the best of the bunch!
No joke, you gotta review Vitriol- to bathe from the throat of cowardice!
Album of the year for me and quite a few others it needs to be on their missed list
Album of the year for this bum as well. They just started a tour with Cattle Decap, Atheist, Full of Hell, Author & Punisher and I'm easily most amped for Vitriol.
Firm handshakes! That tour is going to be a gem, really looking forward to death atlas!
Finally got round to a first spin for this today. Review made it sound good - it's actually even better. The Blaynemeister General strikes again!
If you ever find yourself in Texas, I got a trail spot you can come ride!
I was hoping to watch Hypno5e or Lord Mantis reviews but I am not dissapointed at all.
Glad to see Cryptic Brood in the Shoutouts, and I'll check Casket Huffer ( lov that name)
Fully back Casket Huffer. Filth Ouroboros earns that title as it's properly filthy.
easily one of my favorite albums of 2019 from start to finish
What's the band under sevendust?
GREAT album, been loving these guys since Starspawn's release and was lucky to see them back in 2017. Fantastic band with a great future. I'm already hanging out for even more new material.
yes, was waiting for this!
Man I hope they get big
Please review the new Cattle Decapitation record when it comes out on November 29th please.
I’d die to see a review of that.
"Expand your mind, man!" - Blayne
Middle eastern vibe???? How bout an Egyptian’esque vibe hence *Giza* in the song title....
Waiting for that Cattle Decapitation Death Atlas review when the album comes out.
Now Death to us all!!
Blood Incantation is so sick live
great review, i loved the 'less death metal but more blood incantation' line :)
Freaking loved this record
He loves to put his arms up and put them in place for a second 😂
4.5 skulls PLUS 3 chef's kisses!
Easily the best DM album of 2019 and one of the best of the past decade \m/
The intro to Slave Species is basically the intro to Immortal Rites. Good band tho.
For sure my #1 album this year. So when are you gonna put up some BMX footage on the Patreon page? commmme ooonnnnnnnnnn
i was sitting here wearing a longsleeve with printed arms and i'm offended
Brilliant album 5 skulls for me
I fucking love this album
4 minutes in was as much as I could stand and I really wanted to hear this album reviewed too.. maaaannnn
Blossomed into ambience yooo.
Love the theme of the album!
Casket Huffer needs more attention!
It was more Pink Floyd than John Carpenter. BI even thanks Pink Floyd in the booklet. Howd you miss that haha
I love this band !!. So i hope i love this album!!.
Have to check this one out.
Heck to the yes !
Trust in Blayne 🤘
Anybody else getting a bit of jazz vibe from the instrumental track ?
