The pictures past 8:03 are the ones Jesse found (forgot to label that in the video). We plan to go back soon and dig deeper. The location looks like it has good potential for Schorl as well as quartz crystals and tumbling material.
It would be great to find more of it for sure. I've been back twice and Jesse three times, haven't found much of this clear quartz yet but there are still a few crystals of quartz and tourmaline. It's hard to determine exactly where the source of it is.
@@GeoForge Yes, definitely. Also very good for Cabochons, if there is a relatively clear piece with a nice single needle or an interesting arrangement of needles etc. that could be highlighted very nicely👍
I don't think so but that would make it really convenient. Weathering over geologic time turns feldspars into clay minerals which can make things easier to dig out.
I would say no for this location but in other locations with the same or similar rocks, it could be possible. Some granites and pegmatites can contain gold in them but I think that is rare.

8:27 is absolutely killer backlit, hopefully you guys can find lots more on a trip back.

Beautiful finds👍 Spectacular Crystals. I love the Quartz Crystal full of Needles😍
There are nice crystals to be found. Some of the clear quartz with the needles of tourmaline would make great rock tumbling material.

Nice to see you haven't lost your enthusiasm. Good hunting.
Its hard to keep the enthusiasm in this heat wave though lol. Thank you.
KEWL Finds!!!
ooooh this looks like its going to be interesting!
We are hoping so.
If you plan on going back and want some company digging I would love to join you.
We would be glad to have you join us again. We will have to make a plan. Just shoot me a message.
I'd love to tag along sometime as well.
The reflective pieces are Feldspar. All of the Feldspars has this reflective quality (Amazonite, Labradorite, etc.).
Is there a way to dissolve feldspar or pegmatite to expose the crystals inside?

What state you guys in ? Thanks for the video , Ill be heading out to do some pegmatite prospecting this year so it was great to watch!!
I'm from Idaho and I do most of my prospecting and rockhounding in Idaho and Washington. I'm hoping to expand that range eventually.
But do you have any gneiss schist? :P
Nice finds!
Thanks, we don't take these rocks for granite. :)
@@GeoForge I'm glad you didn't strike out and find all of your efforts in vein!
"We will be back with the proper tools to start digging some holes".
Next episode: "The Caterpillar 352".
Go big or go home right? lol. We will have to reserve the Cat for a special future digging operation.
I wish we were finding stuff worth bringing a cat lol. One day .... one day ...
This rocks has gold in it or no
