Hannibal the embodiment of ''me when i purposefully spread misinformation'' meme fr
He really turned up episode 6 😭 cant wait to get that out to yall
Jack wasn't being mature, he was being manipulative. Will isn't even an agent, yet he's been working on these insane cases that would be tough even for an agent. So when he goes to Jack and tells him he can't handle this, Jack should have listened! But instead he guilt tripped him, literally telling Will that if he stops working for him the next murders would be his fault. He basically says "You can quit if you want, hella people would die if you did, but y'know, do what you want🙄" like wtf???
That's fair. I have no problem personally with him bringing up that last point because it's probably true. We're not saying he's not being manipulative. Just don't have a huge issue with how he handled things this episode. Overall, we know he doesn't really care about Will or what he's going thru
I think a big part of what Hannibal does is see how far normal people will go to get what they want. He is totally manipulating Will against Jack but is also fascinated to see how far Jack is willing to push him. Hannibal warns Jack repeatedly about what he's doing to Will but Jack doesn't care
In Red Dragon (the book), Jack is very aware of what he has to do to manipulate Will and congratulates himself on doing so.
Or when I say Jack doesn't care, he doesn't want Will hurt but is willing to ignore stuff for his convenience. I adore Jack as a character, especially in his relationship with Bella and his friendship with Hannibal, but the stuff that Jack does/says to Will is like the top ten things neurotypical people say to neurodivergent folk
I feel like they make all of these characters equally likable and unlikable sometimes! I think this was one of Jack's better episodes personally (especially dealing with Bella), but I definitely see how little he appreciates what Will goes thru. Can't wait to see more!
@@byrdmanteddie absolutely! No spoilers, but the characters I ended up rooting for by the end of the show is ridiculous!
Loved the reactions and looking forward to seeing more!
"Bella", Jack's wife, is played by Gina Torres who was Laurence Fishburne's 2nd wife (they divorced a few years after the Hannibal series ended)
Some great casting right there! Definitely feels like a real married couple on screen
21:12 in that scene, Hannibal walked up behind Will, caught a whiff of SOMETHING that he had to do a double take looking at Will, then went all in smelling Will
I love Mads and his facial expression for Hannibal. The subtle change in his facial expression to convey Hannibal's thought is one of the reasons why i love rewatching the show. So many details to notice on rewatch
Love those type of shows! I don't always wanna catch everything the first time around. Makes the rewatch exciting 🔥
"lovely perfume, Bella, I can also smell cancer btw." Subtle Hannibal. Real subtle.
Did Hannibal know Hobbs though? He called him from the phone number on the file, but that doesn't mean he knew him.
Foie gras is controversial because the geese (it's usually geese liver afaik) are forcefed which is very painful and it has to happen more than once. So it's considered animal cruelty, it's not that Hannibal was psychic and knew Bella had an illness before he met her. 😉
Hannibal is the king of subtlety tbh 😂. And yeah I forgot they found Hobbs number at the job site. I was thinking he already had his number for a sec lol
Hannibal didn’t know Hobbs guys, he called him on the number they found together in the file at his working place. Hannibal was having his fun letting him know that police is coming but he never met Hobbs before that)
Ahh that's right. Forgot they found his number at the job site before hannibal called. Thanks for the reminder!
honestly one of the funniest moment is the show
“Did you just sniff me? 🤨😒”
Definitely didn't expect this many laughs when we started this show 😂
@@byrdmanteddie yep! it’s shockingly funny, some of the fans like to joke that it should be a romcom instead
Oh jeeze lol. I've seen "buddy cop series" but not romcom 😭
@@byrdmanteddie haha oh yeah sorry it might make more sense when you get more into the show
Respectfully, I disagree about Jack. In my opinion, he is 100% manipulating Will as much as Hannibal is. He is basically guilt-tripping Will into working for him. Jack and Hannibal both want something from Will. Jack wants Will's help in catching killers that he wouldn't otherwise be able to catch even if it's detrimental to Will's health, and Hannibal wants something else. No spoilers although I think you've caught on to a portion of it. In other news, yes, Hannibal is charming. All thanks to Mads Mikkelsen. It's all his fault for making a cannibalistic serial killer so fascinating and watchable.
That's fair. I can see what you mean in the grand scheme of things. I just appreciate that he wasn't being extra pushy about it and letting Will make his own decision. Although I mostly think that's cuz of the situation with his wife. His mind is more focused on that at the moment. Feel free to argue with us any time tho 😂 we love hearing yalls thoughts on things
I will say that Jack definitely doesn't appreciate what Will goes through during these cases. We obviously have alot more to see. I just liked how he handled things this episode, for the most part
14:06 Hannibal turning y’all against each other too…
Great reaction as usual.
Smh, I'm gonna have a whole Zodiac sign at my neck 😂 Can't even blame hannibal for that one
Ep5 is Coquilles, a category of seafood or chicken dishes usaually served in a scallop shell (coquilles is the French word for scallop shell) or a shell-shaped dish.
3:01 NBC almost rejected this ep because the victims' naked butts were too revealing... The crew fixed it by adding more blood to cover their butts and NBC approved the ep with TV-14 rating😂
How in the world did they got Hannibal rated TV-14 on cable TV is beyond me
How do we hide the nudity?? Let's use more blood 😭😂
this is one of my favourite episodes from season 1, seeing the relationship between Jack and Bella - so beautiful and so tragic!
Finding out they were married in real life made so much sense! Really like how Jack handled their conversation at the end. It's great how they give these characters good and bad traits to make you feel conflicted at times lol
19:22 in a lot of reactions I watch they thought she cheated too😅 it's a normal guess, really most wouldn't want to keep illness a secret from loved ones so most people didn't think of 'oh she might have cancer'
The only clue to the viewers about her cancer is the fact that Hannibal mentioned being able to smell his professor's cancer right after he sniffed her. He told her through that story that he knew without alerting Jack, that's why she went to talk to him the day after.
I think Hannibal's superhuman sense of smell is his ability in the books as well
I thought she was cheating the first time I watched it too. This show has a way to keep making you guessing
Oh yeah! I watch with the assumption they're always trying to trick us 😂
4:15 Foie gras is made from goose or duck liver. It's a controversial dish because they traditionally forced-feed their geese and ducks to engorge their livers with fat, which make them delicious. It's quick but painful to the geese/ducks, hence the controversy
There is a way to make foie gras without forced-feeding. Geese naturally gorge in autumn to fatten for the autumn migration and their livers get fatty, making the 'humane' foie gras a seasonal dish
It's something we will prolly never eat, but if we do, we'll make sure it's the correct season!
You were onto something, until the exact moment you weren't 😅
Noooo lol 😭 our detective skills need some work still
Na Jack is defiantly manipulating and abusing Wills mind.
I dont think he's been forcing the issue as much lately, since he's more focused on stuff with his wife. This episode, I think he stated a valid point about Will being the best at catching the killers and saving more lives. Then he let him make his own decision. In the big picture I totally agree with you tho. He doesn't really seem to fully appreciate what Will does for him. Obviously we still have alot to see tho 😂
