For those of you who are unfamiliar a block zone is a section of track that only 1 train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a way to stop a train in case the block ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that keeps coaster trains from coliding with one another
El Toro needs to pin this comment
the screaming sound effects of a woman literally getting murdered during riddler is sending me😂😂
8:16 real-life “I can’t feel my leg!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This channel is too underrated
Underrated? 125k subscribers on a fairly niche topic
@@rookie4619 unnecessary meat riding, 15 yard penalty and automatic first down
Better than coaster studios imo
I agree when I see channels with 125k get underrated comments I have a seizure
Facts
My home park!!! So cool to see you here again. A note: Wicked Cyclone runs cartoonishly fast in the rain, and Superman runs pretty slow if it’s raining and cold. As far as the jerks go, the first overbank and and the final helix have no lead ins with the banking which is why those occur. Superman also seems to have strange transitions into the camelbacks, there’s a lead into the transition from curving up, to not curving up, but no transition into curving down, which is why the initial airtime feels so strong.
Also, flashback has been super weird lately, I got stuck on the second spike for around a minute, it felt like a car crash when it caught the anti rollback tooth, it jerked forward and backward super violently.
P.S. did wicked Cyclone jump in your rankings?
My home park as well, the fact that Superman still provides amazing airtime on a cooler rainy day, is a testament to how awesome the ride is. It has its quirks, and a rocky history, but it is defiantly one every enthusiast should check out.
Man I live close to SFNE and I haven't been in 9 years. I miss it.
@@WCfanboy lol yeah
I’m pretty sure this year wicked cyclone is running faster and Superman is running slower in general. Went in April and Wicked Cyclone was insane, the third lap gives great ejector now
@@bubblegaminglol oh I know, it’s bonkers
Glad to see you had a positive experience! This park for me is a mixed bag. Since it’s my home park I’ve been more times than I can count, and it’s ranged from amazing to putrid. Can’t wait for that video on Superman!
What’s with the guy who screamed he couldn’t feel his leg during the Superman offride footage😂💀
My home park, too!!!! I like going there on a not so nice spring day... perfect!
Wicked cyclone has been running super fast the last couple years. Went opening day and all the other coasters felt sluggish but Wicked Cyclone flew even the third lap.
This is the video that should’ve had a Vessi ad.
Finally someone who has something good to day about Superman
My son got wicked into coasters when he was about 5 and insisted on a trip to SFNE as soon as he was 48 inches tall.
Flashback was the very first thing he rode.
We went right onto wicked cyclone next, so I luckily didn't completely ruin roller coasters for him forever, but he still has nostalgia for that ol' boomerang and rides it every time we visit the park...I will never ride it again.
Btw... you're still the best park vlogger there is
So he got into coasters then turned wicked??
8:17 “I can’t feel my leg!!” 😂😂
Went to BGT by myself last Wednesday. Best day i had got 20 ride on IG and everything was a 10 min wait all day (even Cheetah Hunt and Cobras Curse) going by yourself is underrated like this channel is
I'd love to know what the margins are in Six Flags parks. On a day like this one-cold, rainy, poorly attended-does the park even turn a profit from admissions and concessions when run against operating costs? Do summer margins simply offset the days in the red?
They can't be making much but they also can't be losing money on it. All the big expenses are basically in the elite coasters which are already built and draw in fans daily regardless. Offseting the maintenance and operations cost. Then however many GP show up I assume is the profit margin. Enthusiasts pay for the coasters. GP keep the park profitable and in business is how I would look at it
They definitely lose money on a day like this. They are barely even making a profit if any profit at all when adding up every day in the season. Fairly certain they reported a loss for this past year.
I found it remarkable how empty the parking lot was at the start of this video. At KI and CP (I'm in Ohio), it can be pouring down and there will still at least be a few rows of cars at opening.
I was just there on Saturday. Wicked Cyclone and Superman are awesome. The swings terrify me every time.
I would LOVE a problematic coaster episode on SFNE Superman!!!
I'd love to know what you think of Superman in comparison to Expedition GeForce
I love the front row and Superman because you get shoved into the tunnel
You need to get down to Dollywood and ride Thunderhead. It’s been completely retracked and it’s hauling.
Yeah!!! That’s my home park, I usually Gi by myself as well!!!
You should go to Vietnam and ride the last SLC ever built. It has vests and is quite smooth and has some theming. Probably the best or 2nd best SLC.
My homepark has the first SLC ever built. It sucks, even with the new trains it sucks ass.
@@matthijsblomjous3671 Vekoma has really come a long way, even with their last SLC’s
@@matthijsblomjous3671 yeah I’ve ridden it, worst I’ve ridden
For all of this park's faults, I've enjoyed the place whenever I've gone. It doesn't have the charm of Canobie Lake Park or Lake Compounce (you can see remnants on the old midway, but it's been pretty much Six Flagged) and the coaster lineup has a fair bit of filler. But its top two are legendary, Batman: The Dark Knight is a decent floorless and Thunderbolt is a solid classic woodie with an interesting history. And the waterpark is surprisingly great.
Wicked Cyclone is still my #1 favorite coaster, though that's probably just because I haven't ridden any other RMCs. I have never experienced the slow third lap that people complain about, though that might be because my first ride was in 2021 and its worst era seems to have been before that.
Such an entertaining video. Love coaster idiots, but these solo one's are great too.
I went from being an avid coaster scaredy cat to being a huge enthusiast this last year. Your vids kept me sane during the off season. :^) great content homie
This is my home park, so it was amazing to see you go here!
I never knew wheel heaters were a thing
It’s nice seeing my home park. It feels weird seeing 2 people I recognize from when I worked there in an online video. One person in the background as Superman attendant and another the person you talked to after getting off flashback.
naw, its my home park NOT YOURS lol
Superman looks super solid! One of the best layouts in the country
It's a polarizing ride because so many enthusiasts hate the current restraints, added to the trains after a fatal accident and state legislative action--Taylor Bybee insists this makes Superman so bad that he can't enjoy it at all. Personally, I don't mind the restraints. I guess it's mostly a matter of how you feel about that. It's still my second favorite coaster, after Wicked Cyclone at the same park. I just rode Shambhala, often rated as the best B&M hyper in the world, and I loved Shambhala, but... I still think Superman is better. That layout is brilliant.
@@MattMcIrvin yeah the restraints don’t look like they would bother me that much because I’m a little thinner so my thighs wouldn’t be touching the bar that much
Not as good as you think and rougher than it looks
Boomerang memes never get old lmao
I went last Saturday 5/6/2023! What day did you go? When I went in 5/6/2023 and 2 weeks prior it had 2 trains! Like everything was going like 20x faster than normal which I loved! I was like leaned to the left when on the spaghetti bowl and overbaked turn. I used to hate the front and now I kind of love it! and one jolt / weird turn on the ride is the hill leading to the second tunnel in the final half. It is going up while still banned which makes everyone lean to the left! The last time I went was probably the worst experience there. The attendant for batman the dark knight literally stabled everyone. And it was HURTING everyone on the ride including my brother and mom because he pushed it so tight. He pushed it so tight that the restraints didn't manually unlock, he had to come over and push on them again to open them.
I'm actually so jealous to keep watching these videos, impatiently waiting untill end this month so we will go to Disneyland Paris, I'm so excited!
6:13 Bro just shows a footage from BFDI The Power of Two, absolute madlad.
I love Superman and wicked cyclone!!
It's been a few years since I've been, but this is certainly my home park as well. been going there since like middle school (i'm in northeast CT, just turned 40). RIP Goliath - I haven't ridden Riddler Revenge since it got it's new theming (it'll always be mind eraser to me), but other than the new restraints, I don't really see that they did all that much in terms of changes. I've always loved Riverside / Six Flags New England (though I liked it better under the riverside management where they were more concerned about the entertainment angle with inviting popular bands to play and whatnot), and while possibly heresy in this context, there's a ton more to do there than the roller coasters (though those are always super fun) - the water park is pretty fun during the sweltering summer months, they have lots of rides for kids if you have them in tow (i've got 2 kids, teens now), and lots of other coasters than what's here in the video too (couple of wooden coasters that are fun (if not super thrilling), bumper cars, arcade, lots of other rides... good times.
One of the two wooden coasters got remade into Wicked Cyclone.
Always thought Superman had some weird track work to it. For sure a front row ride.
Dude Flashback is the most cursed ride. I don't know why but for whatever reason when I rode it back in who knows when with buddies during the Halloween celebration my ears started to bleed either on or just as I got off the ride it was a horror show
Yeah Superman’s crew has been super efficient the past few years. Also wicked cyclone has been hauling since the pandemic
Really cool you got to ride coasters with AJ Styles.
That was me last year on a September Saturday (the one between summer and halloween weekends)... rainy and around 60 and miserable. I got tomahawked in the eyes by water while riding Patriot, and Mamba was like getting f--king shot by an endless stream of BB's from out of the sky.
6:01 - 6:28 = Real AF, also Comedic Gold
Dude, I got stuck in a valleying malfunction on the Flashback at Great Escape a few years ago. Going up the second spike, the mechanism that was supposed to catch the train failed and we started rolling back without the sufficient height, and luckily emergency breaks were applied before going up into the loop. While we waited to be evacuated from the train, I started lecturing the other fellow stuck passengers about the nuances of block zones....
One day I will finally make it up to SFNE. The one time I tried to go last year we drove up from just outside Trenton (but still in PA where I live) up there and the park was closed due to weather. So we turned around and went to Great Adventure instead. Like 6 or 8 hours of traveling just to go to my home park that’s 20 minutes away lol hopefully this year I’ll make it!
If I had known I would have driven out there to say hi. I can't ride anymore, (old man, bad back), which is depressing as hell. How old you may ask? I rode the Palisades' Park Cyclone; the view of the new your skyline from the top of the lift hill is burned into my memory! Keep riding as long as you can!!
this is my home park!!! i'm from rhode island, this is all we have lol it's fun in a light drizzle, crowds are low and i prefer to be on the cold side at a theme park. i live in vegas now, there's even less here somehow so this was a nice surprise of a video.
My lord. The beginning of this video is the loudest thing that's ever come out of my speakers lol.
Yay Six Flags New England! Cyclone is fun too. I rode the Superman coaster in 2000 during my 8th grade class trip there. When I was older, I rode Flashback (I didn’t did get up the courage to start riding looping coasters until my senior year of high school. I also went to it when it was called Riverside Park. I haven’t gone to the water park part yet.
Have you ever been to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH, or Play
and in NY state?
super excited to see the problematic coasters video on superman
Ahhh damn it Ryan, you would hit up my current home park when I'm away on business! Hope you always have a wonderful time there bro! 🤘
I went with a friend from that area. Maybe it was the company, but I loved that park so much. Felt like a real "home town" park rather than like the bigger ones that are situated in more remote locations.
Six Flags New England is an odd mixed bag: you can still see a lot of the old Riverside Park in its midway area, but as you move toward the edges it becomes more typically Six Flags. For sheer charm it's beaten by Lake Compounce and Canobie Lake Park, which have much more of the local-park feel. But it's an interesting medium where it has some of that but also has the big big rides.
Mang, that's like the only good thing about having separate cars. Wifey wants young gone? go up the country-although you could've also taken a train from New Brunswick to Springfield via a transfer in New Haven. However, I think there's work going on the NEC at the moment so its as if NYP-BOS is its own thing like in the Metroliner era, except no Keystone trains trains head to DC like that one random Southbound Rush hour Metroliner
amazing RCT reference 😂 and awesome video thank you !!
I got to go to Six Flags New England for the first time about three weeks ago. I got four rides on Superman. The first ride I got was in the fourth row ,and the rest of the rides or towards the back and it was absolutely insane! My trip to New England was similar. It was raining, but I felt like the rides ran better in the rain wicked cyclone was on amazing ops because we got to stay in the train and then they just run the safety ops and got to ride again after checking the restraints. I still have to get the flashback credit. And the Batman wild mouse credit. But the park closed early due to the rain so I got another trip up to New England sometime after Father’s Day!
always a good day when eltororyan drops a vid
I rode Superman opening Day front row, and it was running fast that day! Even Canobie Coaster said it was a fast ride! (met him there in line)! Ran 2 trains that day and was really smooth too!)
That is the highest quality of zipper pocket videos from Six Flags. Before you know it, El Toro & Kingda Ka will eventually have zipper pockets like Twisted Colossus, & Full Throttle.
I agree with the restraints comment. I didn’t find them that bad tbh and my front row ride was awesome
I'm so excited for a problematic coasters about sfne superman, the history is super cool and I would love to see what else you know about my home parks coaster!
My friends and I went to SF Fiesta Texas yesterday and all the forecasts said thunderstorms. We walked onto every ride twice and it never did more than sprinkle.
Riddler Revenge a few weeks ago only had the main trucks over in the transfer station so they definitely did more work on them
Congrats on 125,000 Subs!
Superman looks like it has been tamed from it's glory days.
I'd compare the dive into the second tunnel on Suprman nearly to Magnum's entrance into the turnaround. The awkward lateral G's are definitely harder on Magnum, but the strange feeling of the banking being deliberately 'wrong' is certainly present. And like u say, Millie in the same year?? Anyway lovely vid thanku!!!1!1!
Would love a problematic video on what happened to Logan, one train ops! Also if you dig deep into Michigan Adventure you could do a Problematic Park video because right after shivering timbers was built the park was going to build a coaster to match Magnum. Problematic park or did cedar Fair cut them off.
The one thing that really stinks about the U brick vs the T bar is that a lot of people can’t ride now. I was back row with a young power lifter one time waiting to get locked in. Dude was healthy as a horse, but his quads were literally too wide to fit inside the brick bars, and the poor guy had to sit out the ride. The ride ops and everyone around I felt horrible because he was so excited, and he’d definitely have fit with the T bars. He isn’t the only person out there either who I’ve seen have this happen to
I need to get back up there, last time I was up that way was when Superman was still Bizaro.
SFNE is my home park, and I used to operate Superman, I have also probably ridden Superman more than any other coaster. I find it interesting you get more ejector in the front, I get more floater in the front/middle and more ejector in the back. No matter where you sit though, you get string airtime regardless. I mainly like the back more for the first drop, its insane. A problematic rollercoaster video in Superman would be awesome. How smooth did you find Batman, I find it to be running much rougher with a very noticeable rattle this year, compared to butter smooth in years past.
Batman’s rattle gets worse the further back you are in the train, but everyone gets some violent headbanging during the 2nd corkscrew
@@WCfanboy I’ve ridden Batman countless times in all rows, this year, the whole train has a consistent and uncomfortable rattle, that it didn’t have prior. The 2nd corkscrew never gave me any major head banging, just a tap through the whip of the corkscrew. Rode it in the front last weekend and it rattled so much in the valleys I got more head banging there that anywhere else.
@@colin2319 Last time I went on batman which was a few weeks ago, the final corkscrews rattled me so much that I was dizzy and had a slight headache which never happens to me. Usually I'll reride batman multiple times a day but not after that
That's cool you used to operate Superman! What years did you operate it?
And yes I did find Batman rougher than normal. It had a shake and rattle to it.
@@ElToroRyan 2021 Season
Love this park I miss New England my homeland lol don’t forget the smaller parks near there too like canobie lake park and story land in NH
Ryan you literally make my day when you post a video yippie
I liked SUperman ROS at 6 FLags N.E. it is better than the other two at SF America and Darien Lake... which has just mirror clones
The Superman history... the brake run is way too short which is why they added the extra trim brake on the bunny hops, because it would come in way to fast for the short brake run.
I recommend you go to Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT just to ride Boulder Dash, one of the best if not the best terrain coasters ever built.
Mind eraser was a much more fitting name than riddler revenge
4:18 I was bracing for a vessi sponsorship so hard
Your videos make my day dude, and you turned me into a coaster enthusist, I'm lucky my home parks are Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday world thanks for the great vids!
Well damn. Looks like you had all the fun yesterday while I was stuck at Six Flags Fiesta Texas 😢
Superman looks like it was crawling in your video like that old El Toro footage you show from early in the season. You gotta come back on a hot summer day that has rain forecasted, that way you get the best of both Superman (hauls in hot weather) and Wicked Cyclone (hauls in the wet weather).
PLEASE MAKE A PROBLEMATIC COASTERS ON SUPERMAN. I FUCKING LOVE SUPERMAN. I've only ridden it in the last few years and it was awesome, but I learned some key things from Canobie Coaster's ride review video. He said he has ridden it consistently almost every year since it opened and that it ran slow from about 2010-2018 until they found new wheels that worked better. In his video he theorizes that is the reason why the ride really lost the elite status it had in its first decade of operation.
SFNE has all the Mangs tho
I agree with you on the restraints. They aren’t the best restraints out there, but they’re not as bad an people make them out to be. RMC restraints are worse IMO.
If you haven’t gone to an amusement park by yourself. I highly recommend it. Just go and ride as many things as you want.
You can also charge the rct guests like $20 for an umbrella whenever it rains 😅
wow what a weird coincidence, just as i’m getting back into coaster youtube and JUST after i binged all your videos last week, you’re at one of my home parks. would love to see a problematic coaster vid on superman! did you happen to go to canobie lake park at all on your visit? love any new england content since i can’t travel for parks. great vid!!
Thanks!! And no I didn't make it to Canobie Lake Park this visit. But I've been there before and enjoyed it!
The Riddler Revenge reminds me of the Joker's Revenge that was at Six Flags Fiesta Texas before it got moved to Six Flags New Orleans. I don't think it ever opened there
Wow been a long time since I've been to SFNE. When I was there Cyclone still had its original drop and Superman had the T bars. The back was always so insane back then. Even though SFGADv was my original home park I was more a fan of SFNE. Now a days Cedar Point is my home park and could not be happier. Hopefully I can get back to SFNE and check out Wicked Cyclone.
wicked cyclone has been running insane this year. I was there on a dry low 50 degree day it it was nonstop all the way to the brake run. Not sure what they did to it over the off season, but it is the fastest I've ever experienced.
It was fast last year too. Since about May of last year, it has stopped sputtering out to the brake run. It now hauls from start to finish.
Six Flags New England: In The Rain - By Myself... NOW WITH FRIENDS!
You seem fun to hang out with at theme parks and I'd totally still check out this sad ass excuse for a park just to see what its about. Cause you never know.
I just spent the weekend at the two Indiana theme parks! It was my first trip to Indiana Beach. Didn't get to ride Lost Coaster, Cornball or the relocated Schwarzkopf but I love the atmosphere. It was a pretty good plus one to my Holiday World trip. Btw still love Voyage. #Number1Woodie
I also did Wicked Cyclone front train, and it felt like it was trying to rip my thighs from my torso! It was so intense that my thighs had bruises!
First time viewer here - you mentioned block zones and block checks, but i don't actually know what those are or how they operate and it wasn't explained in the video so I found it very confusing.
I always make my guests pay $.10 to use the restroom in Roller Coaster Tycoon.
ayy w el toro ryan :) i love going to GADV by myself so cool to see other ppl go to 6flag by themselves
I seriously, honestly thought you were going to record POVs on the roller coasters. Lol I got so very excited for nothing! Haha great vlog though: I enjoyed it a lot!
Man I remember when it was Mind Eraser around 20 years ago and it was rough as muck then. I can only imaging my head would handle it now by turning into liquid 🫠
As someone who’s 6’2”, those restraints are as bad as everyone says lol. I wish I could enjoy Superman but it’s so painful.
they put a new roof on the hotel and it's not red inlaughed so hard also make sure you register for stay 2 get 1 free nights ;)
I wish supermans drop was a little steeper and it wasnt rough in the 2nd half, its showing its age
I might be the only thoosie who likes the back row on Superman better than the front but I like almost every coaster better in the back seat. Also agreed on the staffing, SFNE doesn’t seem to have been hit as hard by the staffing issues that have plagued the industry the last few years.
I would even make the patrons on RCT2 pay .20 for the bathrooms when I’m really struggling 🤣🤣
Please make a problematic roller coaster video on Superman. This is my home park and Superman is my favorite ride. I love those videos and it would be awsome if there was one on Superman!
We were just there a few weeks ago as well and Wicked Cyclone was hauling like crazy! 51mph coming into the brakes
"I can't feel my legs"
My leg! My legggggg...
my favorite part was, "I cant feel my legs."
