I just got introduced to your channel watching this Japan series and this popped up. So bizarre to see you in, essentially, my back yard treating SFNE like a real park. One quick tip for anyone thinking of going: never take the parking lot tram. It's faster to walk. And if you have to park so far away that you don't want to walk, just turn around and leave. You'll have a miserable day if you go in.
You’re lucky the place was open at all. Saturday afternoon at Lake Compounce there was already word that they wouldn’t be opening at all Sunday. Hit me up when you guys come through Quassy and Lake Compounce. Also, I’ve heard six flags lost the right to use possessive words with DC characters. Old ones are grandfathered in, but any new ride can’t.
I literally will only play candlepin. I am HORRIBLE at regular bowling but really good with candlepin. Thankfully NH has plenty of candlepin bowling spots ☺️
As someone who worked there for 3 years(security)..everyone is jaded about their hometown theme park but glad to hear it's not just us that think this place is shit. Place has gone mega downhill really since Superman started losing best steel coaster and SF just kind of stopped caring. This is to say nothing of the 2 class action lawsuits I'm still in for unpaid overtime and breaks we were forced to clock out but also told we are unable to leave and must buy food from the SF caf. Also I was there the year they built Goliath and a few years after, while the new trains suck Goliath WILL NOT open if there is even a drop of rain in the atmosphere. Something with the cables and they absolutely can't run with any moisture. Also Also I remember hoping to god the park would close on days it poured and we had no guests. it hardly ever did. I can't fricken believe they closed it for a light drizzle that had stopped by 1:30...."Best Lockers" is a seperate company we contract out for the lockers(at least at SFNE) probably why they work more than anything SF actually runs And as a local I've been to SFNE probably 15-20 times since Pandemonium went up. I have literally never gone on it as the line is ALWAYS fucking massive
Superman's airtime with the original lapbars were life changing, the ownership of that park has put that rife through actual hell to gimmick their way back to its former glory with everything besides putting back the way it was. It actually pisses me off how they treated my first rollercoaster
iceup 17 the t bars will never return to Massachusetts as Massachusetts banned them after a man was ejected from the ride in 2004. It was no fault of the ride or t bars as it was deemed almost 100% operator error. The attendant failed to check the entire left side of the train. The man who flew out did not have his restraint all the way down touching his thighs. It's unknown if his seatbelt was on or not.
I went on Goliath once when it was open during the summer I guess because the park was really busy. Absolutely hated it, the most painful coaster I've ridden, and I ride green lantern everytime I go to six flags great adventure.
Ahhhh. I remember when Superman premiered when I was younger. The hydraulic nut squishers were epic. Also, fun fact: Riddler Revenge was renamed by Mind Eraser's top rider as he was getting off the Samsung VR event in 2017. Mr. Oldman Sixflag himself said "Hey, you been riding this ride for two decades straight. Hope you liked it this season. They're gonna fold this into the batman theme with The Riddler. What should we name it?"
WiCy is insane with wet rails. It's still insane with dry rails but you can instantly feel the extra friction I noticed. This is the only RMC I rode in the rain and I loved it.
The u-brick restraints were added due to an incident in 2004 where a man with cerebral palsy fell out and died on the final turn of the ride. As a result of this, Massachusetts enacted new regulations which banned the usage of the traditional lap bar. While I can personally tolerate the restraints myself, Superman could definitely use new Mack Rides trains with restraints from Flash at China’s Lewa Adventure.
So for some insight from an sfne worker who worked in Goliath division(but not on Goliath bc I got promoted ans moved before they started training on it. (and was probably work the day u were there and completely missed it)) I just want to say Goliath is completely reliable. You can 100% count on it to not open until mid season. You can 100% count on it not to work in the rain. You can 100% count on it not to work if it's too cold. And you can 100% count on it to not work if it's too hot. That thing is a big green drama queen since it's moved here and it's not because of the new trains. This ride was not built for temperate climates. Every winter something happens to it and they have to buy brand new parts to fix it. I don't know if those parts are hard to come by but they take forever to get to the park and then they take forever to install. And trust me when I say every person in ride ops wants that ride gone. But six flags new England did a survey for guests to see what their favorite rite was in the 2018 season and Goliath won. It must be a novelty to say you've ridden it. And the myths and legends of how good of a ride it is must echo throughout the park to keep people interested because I don't see how that is chosen when 80% of guests will never actually get to ride it 😂😂. Rumors were that 2018 was supposed to be it last season but it got a sensu bean from that survey. Also we run wicked cyclone in the rain until it overshoots to much on the break run. When it does it gets put into rain mode which makes it slower than if it was actually dry. And it's usually stays in rain mode the rest of the day
I live next door to this park. Used to ride my bike as a kid here. It used to be so much better. The old cyclone was way better imo. I enjoyed that wooden one better than new one.
I dont even go anymore. The old lap bars. The yellow ones with a single metal handle to hang on to if you want were dope. I haven't been since I was like 17 I think. Maybe 18. When I was a kid man of steel was the shit. Rode it hundreds of times.
Went yesterday and I think the Riddler has the most comfortable restraints I’ve ever been in. I could have taken a nap in them. The lap bars on Superman are evil, my thighs hurt the rest of the day. We also rode the new Cyborg ride, which is ok, best part of it is the theming and AC.
This was the first ETR video I ever watched LMAO. I found it when I got home from SFNE in 2019. I went again two days ago. Rode all the coasters. Lost my glasses on Joker, even. Don't worry, I have spare ones haha

On the S&S freespins the little flip fins actually slow the ride down ever so slightly so they technically trim. Hence why joker at SFOT is the worst freespin. It went too slow so they removed some flip fins.
I’ve yet to ride a true RMC. Also gotta give the obligatory one train ops!!! Hope you guys can visit Logan in Florida and go to Bush Gardens or Disney with him. I miss him.

At least they gave you an hour plus notice they were closing early. On one of my visits in 2017, they had a posted 10 pm close and at 2:45 announced they were closing in 15 minutes.
