@@paytonkilmer1920 they should've built the Starkiller base, but used it as a threat, not just wasted a good position by immediately blowing them up for no fucking reason other than ego. The better option would have been to set up negotiations with the New Republic, and used the resources on the planet and from said threat to build more star destroyers. They would still have to build an orbital platform to have the star destroyers dock at, but use the resources from boomerang ship to make three that circle in tandem around the planet. They should then place those massive cannons from that other ship that they used for orbital bombardment for points defense cannons on said orbital ship docks. They could at least have made two more if they were able to make a fucking deathstar 2.0. Also, get better commanders, and then execute the red headed idiot.

Bigger than anything ever” “But... won’t that make it super obvious to the republic that we exist? Also wouldn’t it be better to use that money for something else like better fighters than the shitty TIE we’re using? Or maybe even build a droid factory and build better battle droids than the CIS did for extra troops that will never defect” “No. I want big ships and a big planet Death Star that drains the sun for power. That way when the sun dies out we lose the planet base because the thing can’t hyper space travel like the original Death Stars” “But... that’s so stupid. We can build like... a million commando droids and magna guards instead. You know the things that were a match for Jedi? Why not build them? Also we don’t even have the manpower to maintain both those things because of how big they are. We’re a small faction remember?” “What? No don’t worry. I’ll make sure that these gigantic things are indestructible. Unless some idiot makes up a universe defying move like.. idk weaponizing hyperspace. I mean if that were possible we’d already be building weapons based on it since the hyper drive was invented. Plus as long as no idiot just lowers the shields on the planet base it’ll be fine. It’s not like a high ranking officer will just... idk... lower the shields because they’re being held at blaster point even though they’re wearing blaster proof armor. Right?”
No one gives a shit just sit back relax and enjoy some sweet looking ships. Plus I'm pretty sure they just have big ships in order to make the resistance look small and helpless, not in order to be realistic.
We are lucky that holdo discovered her maneuver just at the right moment (or more really she decided to escape just at the wrong moment to leave her friends behind as according to more recent data the chances of pulling it off were slim to none and otherwise it was very well known) That also explained the somewhat remorseful expressions of holdo at the time of the maneuver and the hateful faces of her friends when her brilliant plan of escape blew in their faces.
Bellator Class SSD vs. Resurgent Class SD Nebula Class SD vs. Pellaeon Class SD (or any comparable SD) Resurgent Class SD vs MC85 Cruiser (Raddus) 16th Attempt
The Venator class just looks absolutely awesome. Even though their smaller than a lot of the others, I still love it. Probably because of its ample presence in the Clone Wars.
It’s also the best ship. There are hundreds of fighters to do the actual work of killing other ships, it’s inexpensive, tough, easy to maintain, you can make them by the gross, and you don’t need the logistics and institutional structure of of keeping a single ship with the population of Manhattan running.
I'll also add to that, it's pretty much the only ship that's truly battle tested. It went toe to toe with equal, slightly less powerful, and more powerful enemy ships. Almost none of the other star destroyers faced off against a similar sized ship.
1 Sovereign SSD, 3 Bellator Dreadnoughts, 3 Interdictor Cruisers, 9 Imperial II Star Destroyers, 20 Victory Star Destroyers and 10 Venator Star Destroyers. As for their fighter compliments: TIE Defenders (Legends version of course) and Missile Boats (Because awesome)
Preferably multiple very well armed varieties. Star wars legends is replete with them. The majority of my knowledge is comprised from the old TIE fighter game. Delta JV-7 Shuttles and the DX-9 transports for preference. The former because it's a damn good multirole combat shuttle and the latter because you still need a cheap cargo transport. Also, fun.
Depleted them of certain resources, probably. Assuming that it takes 1.6 cubic kilometers of material to create an ISD (which is a much larger volume than what an actual ISD consists of), you have to consider that the overall volume of an Earth-sized planet is still roughly a *trillion* cubic kilometers. Assuming that every bit of Earth’s mass could be utilized in the creation of a Star Destroyer, the full mass could be used to complete 625 million ISDs. Given that the Empire’s fleet was typically stated to number around 25,000, it’s safe to assume that planets were not depleted wholesale.
Nice Vid! To me this gives the Supremacy some scale that actually makes sense (as far as something can make sense when SSDs are concerned) because unlike the other SSDs its a command ship, mobile base and sort of shipyard all in one.
Beautiful video! Thank you so much for making this. I've been reading and trying to figure out the physical difference between the Victory and Imperial classes. They're pretty close except for size.
@@pandathecrusader5658 An Imperial-Class 1-2 Star Destroyer is 1600 Meters - 1800 Meters, Due to SWTOR not being canon anymore no one has made any lore corrections to the Harrowers size. But the one and only reference was a poor approximation and isn't close to the size. But it is closer to the Allegiance-Class if anything.
What about the beautiful star destroyers that we saw in Kotor 1 and 2, the Interdictor and the Centurion? I know they technically started as Republic ships, but they are pretty iconic to the Sith in that era. They are also really elegant looking.
Resurgent Class Battlecruiser I will unironically say that watching a Wookiee grandpa have a... fun time with VR women is more entertaining than the more recent Star Wars movies.
Having ships of those sizes beyond the Imperial class is so impractical. I know that there is an entire galaxy and billions or even trillions of personnel in the factions to crew these ships, but it's damn near genocidal to have a fleet battle where several of these capital ships are destroyed. The smaller ones by themselves, let alone the Death Star.
The iconic Imperial Star Destroyers, impressive though they may be, are really puny little things when put next to the insanely massive Supremacy... 😅👏
Well the Venator was still much larger than anything the CIS had, or at least within the same class. On a whole the clone wars ships were much smaller than imperial era.

You can tell me all you want about how awesome the huge ships are. For me the peak in design is the Harrower "Dreadnought" of the old republic era. I love this ship.
Yeah. In a traditional gun battle, the Supremacy probably wins, but as with pretty much every matchup they have, the Eclipse and Sovereign can just auto-resolve with the superlaser.
Star Wars really does suffer from "bigger is better" -- they just keep making things bigger and bigger, as if that somehow makes the threat bigger. And it's kinda gotten lame at this point. I look forward to episode IX where they'll have a star-size death star and a planet-sized destroyer. Then episode X where they have a system-sized death star and a star-sized destroyer. Wow, how innovative!
In the EU, by the Legacy era, they were making smaller, more efficient ships. The Imperious-class Star Destroyer is only slightly larger than a standard ISD, but it has the shields and weapons tohold it's own against the rest of the Imperial navy.
My favorite star destroyers 1. Resurgent class battlecruiser 2. Eclipse class dreadnought 3. Pellaeon class star destroyer and Imperius class star destroyer 4. Supremacy class mega star destroyer 5. Nebula star destroyer
@@vts0361 Those super heavy turbolasers were a cool addition that makes sense. It's introduction is epically awesome, that siren combined with the sheer scale of the Supremacy sure made a lot of people drop their jaws.
One flaw in your video, at 5:50 I'm sure you've noticed and addressed it...the Supremacy Mega Destroyer says 19,000 meters even though it's 3 times the length of the Executor Super Star Destroyer. But, great information in your video. Love it! Please, keep up the wonderful work!
Who do you think would win? This fleet composed of some of the strongest and largest battleships ever composed OR A few rebels on horses and a farm boy flying a single ship
If you look at how big the Supremacy Dreadnaught is in comparison to a normal Star Destroyer, it makes Palpatine’s Destroyers in Episode 9 that much more feasible. It also makes the Holdo move more plausible because of how big it is.
Alright everybody, if you had to make a fleet, which three Star Destroyers would you choose from this video. Mine would be the Victory, Nebula, and the Venator. Small, but efficient to take on capital ships and take on fighters.
Mine would be the same as yours. The Venator for its unparalleled fighter compliment, Nebula as a multirole carrier with its powerful capital guns, and the Victory for the front line with its missile launchers, turbolasers, ion cannons, and acceptable fighter compliment. These are also all reasonably priced. So losing some wouldn't be a major loss like a dreadnought. I'd also fill them up with New Republic fighters such as X-Wings, B-Wings, K-Wings, A-Wings, E-Wings etc.
MobiusLeader007 Exactly. Venator is fighter control, Nebula and Victory on front lines. Also, when one guys down, it’s less expensive and you don’t lose as many people as compared to the Imperial class.
@@stephenlutz6936 These vessels also have a Class 1 hyperdrive, making them great at responding to threats across the galaxy. Admittedly though, the Victory I is rather slow in realspace. So it would be up to the Venator and Nebula to chase fleeing ships.
So are you saying that the rebels are terrorist (oh wait they are) and the rebels are also space Japanese and the empire is America makes sense actually but with the japan thing japan should be the empire and the us the rebels
Neither, the attack on the Death Star wasn't a terrorist attack (more of a desperate, last ditch defense) nor was it the start of a war like Pearl Harbor, as the rebellion had been going on for quite some time. Besides, Pearl Harbor was an attack on a more or less (at the time) equal opponent.
9/11 is the better comparison. It was done by non-state actors (Al-Qaeda, the Alliance) to unquestionably the greatest military force at the time (America, the Galactic Empire), shattering the latter's sense of invulnerability and refocusing its security policies. Pearl Harbor resulted in a symmetrical war between major powers; the Galactic Civil War wasn't this until its later stages. 9/11 produced the sort of cat-and-mouse, asymmetrical warfare we see in _The Empire Strikes Back._

Meanwhile Thrawn is having a heart attack due to the amount of star destroyers he could field with the money and resources used to make starkiller base and the supremancy.
In the great words of Gordon Freeman(Freeman's mind edition): "Eat your hearts out taxpayers, this is here you money goes"
Starkiller Base and the Supremacy were good choices for the First Order.
@@ufukcangencoglu2279 How so? Holdo blew up the Supremacy and two or three other star destroyers. If there'd been no Supremacy, and let's say (conservatively) fifty other Resurgence-class star destroyers, she couldn't have possibly hit enough of them to make a difference.

The first order makes no sense and is so stupid.
“Guys we’re the weakened remains of the empire. We have little to no supporters and have to rely on kidnapping kids for troops. What do we do with whatever money we have?”
“Convert a planet into a Death Star. Also build like a super big ship. Bigger than anything ever”
“But... won’t that make it super obvious to the republic that we exist? Also wouldn’t it be better to use that money for something else like better fighters than the shitty TIE we’re using? Or maybe even build a droid factory and build better battle droids than the CIS did for extra troops that will never defect”
“No. I want big ships and a big planet Death Star that drains the sun for power. That way when the sun dies out we lose the planet base because the thing can’t hyper space travel like the original Death Stars”
“But... that’s so stupid. We can build like... a million commando droids and magna guards instead. You know the things that were a match for Jedi? Why not build them? Also we don’t even have the manpower to maintain both those things because of how big they are. We’re a small faction remember?”
“What? No don’t worry. I’ll make sure that these gigantic things are indestructible. Unless some idiot makes up a universe defying move like.. idk weaponizing hyperspace. I mean if that were possible we’d already be building weapons based on it since the hyper drive was invented. Plus as long as no idiot just lowers the shields on the planet base it’ll be fine. It’s not like a high ranking officer will just... idk... lower the shields because they’re being held at blaster point even though they’re wearing blaster proof armor. Right?”
Ok but you’re a furry so everything you say is invalid

Despite the fact that we don’t even have enough people to operate them, that is what i want.
No one gives a shit just sit back relax and enjoy some sweet looking ships. Plus I'm pretty sure they just have big ships in order to make the resistance look small and helpless, not in order to be realistic.
We are lucky that holdo discovered her maneuver just at the right moment (or more really she decided to escape just at the wrong moment to leave her friends behind as according to more recent data the chances of pulling it off were slim to none and otherwise it was very well known)
That also explained the somewhat remorseful expressions of holdo at the time of the maneuver and the hateful faces of her friends when her brilliant plan of escape blew in their faces.

Lol.
No it’s just a hole

Orumon Uldor; What about shuttlecrafts?
RC - 1207; Better prepared then dead.
Also, fun.
The amount of materials they would have needed to make these. They must have depleted entire planets.

Beautiful video! Thank you so much for making this. I've been reading and trying to figure out the physical difference between the Victory and Imperial classes. They're pretty close except for size.
I notice one class is missing: the Interdictor-Class Star Destroyers, the ones with gravity well generators used to pull ships out of hyperspace.

The "supremacy" was an excellente design but wasted by the episode 8.
Stick with 2 Km at most for a supper carrier. Have lots of cruisers and battleships. Done deal

The Eclipses and the Sovereigns would kick the Supremacy’s ass.
Yeah. In a traditional gun battle, the Supremacy probably wins, but as with pretty much every matchup they have, the Eclipse and Sovereign can just auto-resolve with the superlaser.
What were you expecting? Its Empire-built, if it doesnt have superlasers you are doing it wrong.
Noxy Disney needs to take notes, but there was a time where Legends superweapons were too ridiculous.
Remember the Sun Crusher?
Lets agree to never talk about that abomination.
Lol, so people in the comment section are both saying that the supremacy is too powerful, or not powerful enough, and somehow it's all Disney's fault.
Last 360 Days to Star Vars IX
And then the star sized destroyer gets blown up in the span of 1 hour by the rebels.
In the EU, by the Legacy era, they were making smaller, more efficient ships. The Imperious-class Star Destroyer is only slightly larger than a standard ISD, but it has the shields and weapons tohold it's own against the rest of the Imperial navy.
The common thing is that they all look like pizza

Alright everybody, if you had to make a fleet, which three Star Destroyers would you choose from this video. Mine would be the Victory, Nebula, and the Venator. Small, but efficient to take on capital ships and take on fighters.
Imperial for mainline cruiser, Resurgent for fighter support, and Executor for flagship.
ISD very likely. Venator pretty useful. Resurgent is growing on me...
Was the death star being blown up like space 9/11 or space pearl harbor?
So are you saying that the rebels are terrorist (oh wait they are) and the rebels are also space Japanese and the empire is America makes sense actually but with the japan thing japan should be the empire and the us the rebels
Neither, the attack on the Death Star wasn't a terrorist attack (more of a desperate, last ditch defense) nor was it the start of a war like Pearl Harbor, as the rebellion had been going on for quite some time. Besides, Pearl Harbor was an attack on a more or less (at the time) equal opponent.
Space Pearl Harbour
The Supremacy takes the Space 9/11 title
9/11 is the better comparison. It was done by non-state actors (Al-Qaeda, the Alliance) to unquestionably the greatest military force at the time (America, the Galactic Empire), shattering the latter's sense of invulnerability and refocusing its security policies. Pearl Harbor resulted in a symmetrical war between major powers; the Galactic Civil War wasn't this until its later stages. 9/11 produced the sort of cat-and-mouse, asymmetrical warfare we see in _The Empire Strikes Back._
