I could watch this forever. What a paradise for your Vizsla 😍 As mine just turned 13 (and is still playful and still crawling in my lap at 70 lbs) my eyes fill with tears seeing my boy in your puppy. So beautiful.
I really loved your video. Thanks for posting. I once took care of an 'adult' Vizsla for friends while they were on holiday and fell in love with this breed forever! They are a gentle breed. Beautiful, intelligent, affectionate, full of character and with the most gorgeous coat. But best of all are their SILKY ears. If you thought stroking a cat is therapeutic, you aint seen nothin' yet as Vizsla's ears are even better! They also have a "sense of humour". Stella (the Vizsla I looked after) would always stop outside a Charity shop until someone came out and gave her a treat; she would'nt budge until she got it! When she got home, she always gave a howl and a vigrous wag of the tail as if to say 'thanks mate, that was a great walk'! When she had to be put down because of arthritis, I cried for months and still do when I think about her. I hope you enjoy your puppy. Farting aside, you're in for a treat. I thought the farting was brought on by age but after reading this, I'm wondering if its a part of their physiology. I guess when I am ready to adopt a Vizsla, I'll need to keeo the apple blossom spray handy!
I love this description of a vizsla. The silky ears!! Yes 🥰 Viljas coat is all silky still. Im so sorry about Stella, sound slike you had a really great relationship.
I had my first vizsla 15 years ago, we are on number 5 now. Absolutely adore the breed (smooth and wire too) and set up vizsla rescue because of my first one. Vilja is gorgeous, enjoy every minute of it!

Really enjoying your videos! Beautiful scenery, beautiful photography, beautiful pup! Looking forward to following along! Can’t wait to get our Vizsla next month!
I used to play “ find the treasure’ with mine. It’s a training game to search, find and retrieve. I put different treats with different smells inside a sock and I used to hide it in different places around the house. Then I invited my dog to look for it with me. It was a great training and family fun exercise. The training always gentle with Vizslas as they are eager to please. I did this exercise for a few minutes only, 3 times a day.
Been there too many times. We had six of them and they gave us so much joy. They are different , very different and need firm but careful training from day one.
What a wonderful home and wildlife for you and your vizsla 🥰 We got our Vizsla “Romy” on November 29th in 2020. We recognize her exactly in your video 😂, same behavior, same funny movements, same “calm” temper.. Stay healthy! Greetings from Bonn 🙋🏼♀️🐕
Vilja is blessed to get to experience such a beautiful place and great adventures with loving fur parents! My V’s played hard and were calm when we were calm. They love to sleep beside you and on your lap...They are known to “have” to sleep in bed under the covers with you! Velcro they are! We get our 3rd Vizsla puppy tomorrow!!
Yes! We thought long time about getting a puppy and we are so happy with our decision, it truly is a great place for a vizsla. And she give us so much joy. Woow! So happy for you, what it your new puppys name? Let us know how it all goes 🤗
We have a vizsla as well and she is currently 4 months old... she has not yet destroyed anything and can do many tricks like sit, roll over, paw ect. Would really recommend the dog!!
First vizsla was with me for little over 16yrs. Amazing 16yrs. Second V sadly rare genetic disease lasted 2 yrs. miss the daily stories i would tell of what my vizsla would do next
Donald, can you share what type of rare genetic disease your V had? We lost our 1st V after he experienced 2 simultaneoous and dealy genetic issues, and was in so much pain, had to be put down at age 8. There were some genetic issues with the 2nd one as well, but pup was from the same breeder. So, who knows there. We are currently experiencing life with our 3rd V, he's almost 1 year now, and seems to be very healthy. Breeder was from very far away so no possibility of same stock and issues w/ the first two. But I've spent so much time over the years trying to find out more about those genetic issues, and keep trying to hear back from other owners' experiences with their own V's. Appreciate your replay and information if you can. Thanks, Betsy

So nice to see how Vilja and you interact together. Having a Vizsla in the family is a great joy. Our Vizsla Sam is 12 years old and now we are looking for a new puppy. Unfortunately for us due to the COVID-19 virus a lot of people are looking for a puppy and Vizsla’s are a popular breed in the Netherlands. We will be following your journey with Vilja and hope we will learn a lot about raising a puppy. Good Luck.
Hey Rob! Thaks for your comment! You are so right, a vizsla - or any dog brings so much life in to the house. Hope you will find your puppy. In Finland Vizsla is not very common breed and there was A LOT of people trying to get one at the same time as we. Somehow we got lucky, hope you will to 🤗

She is beautiful can't wait to see her grow. We have just got a vizmaraner (vizla Cross weimeraner). But he looks very vizsla. His name is Klaus, he's 10 weeks old. He defiantly had a lot of vizsla traits but there is a bit of stubborness, from the weimeraner for definite. He's only now going out and exploring, as he has only just had his second jabs. But perfect on and off lead (at the moment). Proper shadow dog. He's also getting use to being downstairs, he made the decision himself one night. We got him a new bed and he just wanted to sleep downstairs on it, instead of being in his crate. Some nights sleeps all the way through other times once or twice.
I live in a cold climate so I planned to get a wire haired vizsla. Apparently they deal with the cold better. Unfortunately after doing the research I found out that the wire haired ones have lot more health issues. So I have to get a winter wardrobe for the pup.
Moi mun suomalainen kaveri! My husband (also Finnish) and me (colombian) living in Switzerland are getting our Vizsla (Greta) on the first week of February! It’s amazing to follow her development and your channel is todella hyvää!!
Hello I have a half Viszula. I've had many dogs but my Viszula gunny is the best. I feel guilty for saying that but he is truly an awesome dog. He is goofy and mischievous but he never destroys the house. He messes up the bed to make it comfortable for him but doesn't touch things that don't belong to him. Cheers to you and your beautiful Viszula
I am getting my 8 week old Vizsla this week! I'd love to see you in action training and I'm sure your viewers would as well! you're island is beautiful.
I used to raise early 80s they’re great family dogs very smart hunting dogs you can’t go wrong with the visa my favorite dog was named baby she could jump at 6 foot fence with no problem great rabbit hunters and bird dogs very good family dog very smart
I really like your videos. We are expecting our own Vizsla puppy on February 18th. We will also be training our puppy to become a hunting dog. But because of Covid there are limited training facilities available so we are eager to learn form your experience with this beautiful dog. Keep those nice videos coming!
@@ErikKieboom Gunning zal zeker meespelen.
Hello! We're picking up our Vizsla puppy on Saturday. We've just seen your 1st month video which was great and I was wondering if you made any training videos in the end?
The Hungarian Vizsla has to be one of the nicest breeds, my old boy Shane was also very protective of me. Especially when we are in the house at night time. He did his job well Also, where did you get such great-looking dog sweaters I've been looking for sweaters like that for my dogs and can't find them? Please, let me know!!!!! and thank you.
Hey I am planning on getting a Hungarian Vezsla but one thing is holding us back. Could you tell me how much they shed. Or how much they shed compared to the wire haired vizsla. Thank you so much. And I love were you live
Thank you so much. I am actually getting a Hungarian vezsla very soon, that really helped. Now I know they are going to shed, but most every big dog sheds. ❤️❤️
Looks like she is handling the cold okay. That was one of my concerns with the wonderful Vizsla when debating what the next breed for our family will be.
Cold is ok as long as she is kept moving. In Finland we have many warm months too ... this summer we had a long period of more than 30 degrees. Then it feel good to have a short-haired dog...😊👍
@@thenordicway Great information. Long time Malamute owner but would like a more dog friendly breed. Will be moving to Cape Cod, Massachusetts USA, which may have a similar and slightly warmer climate than Finland. Labrador seems to be a breed designed for this ocean community but having a dog that shed less would be a most welcome change.
Love this video you are both doing a great job with Vilja. My daughter has Oliver a 3 yr Vizsla that I watch while she is at work. He is so much fun and I have put a deposit on a Vizsla puppy - Why did you select a girl vs a boy?
Thank you very much! yes, they are fun and bring much joy. I guess we chose a girl because we have more experience with girl dogs. We have had girls before in our family and almost alla our friends has hem too. Girls ar generally a little bit smaller.
My family just got a puppy on October 10 2020 and his name is Reese and looks like this and when we got him they thought he was a dachshund mixed with terrier but he looks like your puppy Vilja and she is so cute and so is our dog and we think he is a vizsla because he has grown so much he was 4 or 5 pounds
Love your videos! I am getting a vizsla in 1 week, Any tips? I am Hungarian, could I get a short reply? I am nervous and excited! ❤️❤️ I have tried to puppy proof my house but I’m not sure what to expect. I am VERY active so that’s not a problem.
Congratulation to the new puppy! Well one tip that we could give is to take it slow. Everything is new for the puppy so don´t rush in to things to fast... The puppy needs a lot of sleep and sometimes you (at least we had to) have to remind the puppy that it has to sleep! Good luck :) One trainer said to us that everyone can get a vizsla to get hyper active but not everybody can calm it down... Also when you start to train, keep it fun and interested - short trainings :D
We have a chance to get a Vizsla puppy. I'm praying that we do get him. My husband has always wanted a Vizsla breed dog. We have a 4 year old son, are Vizsla's good with kids? We live in United States and Vizslas are hard to come by.. Our dogs have recently passed away of old age and their is a silence in our home, an empty feeling.... Thank you for sharing your experience, I enjoy watching y'all with your beautiful dog. You're inspiring us.
Where in the US do you live???....we got our V from a breeder outside of Pittsburgh..... just a word of advice... they are great with kids, but, it's like having another child!!!!.... ours is almost 3.... still like having another kid!
Nice to have more Vizsla families onboard! What's the temperature over there? We feel that it's good to put some clothes on because starts shivering pretty quickly when it's freezing.
@@thenordicway yes i know they usually don t really like if there is cold outside:) But if they run, walk they will be totally ok:)we don t need to be too worried about them, originally they are hunters:))) The vet said it,too Those dogs which are always outside, also at night they might need clothes The temperature here is about -3C now,my dog is ok also when it is -10C,i don t have experience with them when it is colder than -10C:)
I have a 12 week old female Vizsla who is a real sweetheart but can be a little monster when tired. Lovely dogs, but as a single person she can be hard work at the moment especially when needing to leave her for an hour or two because she’s so needy if I leave the room she howls. Did you have any issues with this and how did you manage it?
Subscribed! I'm trying to convince my boyfriend to let us have a visla, I've really fallen in love with them! We have a big field right behind our house where dog walkers go all the time... I keep fantasising about having a visla now... I've heard they're also good with children? We have a 3 Year-old... So we'd have to make sure this breed is great with children.
11:32 I have seen that your channel has sadly become inactive since roughly a year, but if you return, I'd like so see how her hunting drive is coming along and how you manage it. I have wondered that since you live so close to pure nature.
We are in US and looking for a Vizla puppy breeder that will not crop the tail. I know its illegal to do so in Europe but America standard is to crop the tail. Is there a way you can recommend particular breeder/breeders that will be able to bring back to US?
I had the vizsla for 12 years...it was the most beautiful years

Adorable puppy. We just adopted Jack :)
Moi mun suomalainen kaveri! My husband (also Finnish) and me (colombian) living in Switzerland are getting our Vizsla (Greta) on the first week of February! It’s amazing to follow her development and your channel is todella hyvää!!
Oo! So glad for you 🤗 Greta is a really nice name for her✨ wish you and your new family member all the best!
You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place ❤️
Hello Roos
Hello I have a half Viszula. I've had many dogs but my Viszula gunny is the best. I feel guilty for saying that but he is truly an awesome dog. He is goofy and mischievous but he never destroys the house. He messes up the bed to make it comfortable for him but doesn't touch things that don't belong to him. Cheers to you and your beautiful Viszula
🥰🥰 best breed!!
I am getting my 8 week old Vizsla this week! I'd love to see you in action training and I'm sure your viewers would as well! you're island is beautiful.
I would love to see your training videos also - I am on a list to get a puppy
I used to raise early 80s they’re great family dogs very smart hunting dogs you can’t go wrong with the visa my favorite dog was named baby she could jump at 6 foot fence with no problem great rabbit hunters and bird dogs very good family dog very smart
yes, Vilja is showing signs of becoming a good jumper aswell :D
I really like your videos. We are expecting our own Vizsla puppy on February 18th. We will also be training our puppy to become a hunting dog. But because of Covid there are limited training facilities available so we are eager to learn form your experience with this beautiful dog. Keep those nice videos coming!
Congratiolations on your puppy! Looking forward to hearing updates on how things are going for you later on 😊
@@ErikKieboom Gunning zal zeker meespelen.
I have an almost 3 year Vizsla names Penelope ❤️ they are the best dogs!
I have a 15 week old visla and he is very mad and loony and realy funny but I love him
P.S. I just love the Newfie too. Such an ADORABLE twosome.
I have a Vizsla - he is so cute
Getting a vizsla soon and I can't wait. We are Hungarian!
My sister has a female and I am seriously considering getting one so thanks for the video.
Hello! We're picking up our Vizsla puppy on Saturday. We've just seen your 1st month video which was great and I was wondering if you made any training videos in the end?
Love your puppy. Ted
Hello Elizabeth
I would live here too. Nice place.
Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤
We are getting a vizsla puppy in 4 weeks
Hey I am planning on getting a Hungarian Vezsla but one thing is holding us back. Could you tell me how much they shed. Or how much they shed compared to the wire haired vizsla. Thank you so much. And I love were you live
Both sheds loads. The smooths fur goes into everything. I have had both, even longhairs. Only have wires now, not because of the shedding though.
Thank you so much. I am actually getting a Hungarian vezsla very soon, that really helped. Now I know they are going to shed, but most every big dog sheds. ❤️❤️
I have a wirehaired Vizsla the same age as yours :-) His name is Wirgil and it is so nice to see your little dog.
she is scrummy!!!! and may this comment live on when she is a sassy sugar face xoxo.
Beautiful breed
Mine likes the cold and snow. The heat, not so much.
We chose a female pup too. We will get her in December. Our 13 yr old son is excited for this new journey. 🌲🐕
Please make a video with training tips! My Vizsla is so stubborn and it’s been hard to housebreak him.
I am getting one in 5 days (soooo exited) 😆😆😆
Wohooooo! Awesome, congratz 🥳
Thanks 😊
Vizsla stellst so good. No Other dog smells so good . Vizsla is the Best dog. Haunt energetic but also cuddeling
Illinois, we didn't get the Vizsla.....
Sorry to hear that
Lost our Vizsla a few years ago, I miss her so much!
I'm sorry to hear that. I guess it's part of living with a dog 😕
We have Vizsla too,we r proud of our breed, the cutest Hu breed:)
They don t need any clothes, only in case u don t let him/her in the house.
Nice to have more Vizsla families onboard! What's the temperature over there? We feel that it's good to put some clothes on because starts shivering pretty quickly when it's freezing.
@@thenordicway yes i know they usually don t really like if there is cold outside:)
But if they run, walk they will be totally ok:)we don t need to be too worried about them, originally they are hunters:)))
The vet said it,too
Those dogs which are always outside, also at night they might need clothes
The temperature here is about -3C now,my dog is ok also when it is -10C,i don t have experience with them when it is colder than -10C:)
I have a 10 month old vizsla his name is Felix hes such a good dog
I have a 12 week old female Vizsla who is a real sweetheart but can be a little monster when tired. Lovely dogs, but as a single person she can be hard work at the moment especially when needing to leave her for an hour or two because she’s so needy if I leave the room she howls. Did you have any issues with this and how did you manage it?
This is the first time I’ve seen a Vizsla wearing a coat
Im trying to convince my girlfriend to have a Vizsla too 😩 She prefer smaller dog, but I’m so in love with Vizsla.
I have 2 vizslas both boys. My mother in law breeds them so they are 100% brothers just 2 years apart
So nice!! Best dog 😊
How do you train her to stop biting your hand? What do you do at night if she's awake and scratching at the cage or crying?
11:32 I have seen that your channel has sadly become inactive since roughly a year, but if you return, I'd like so see how her hunting drive is coming along and how you manage it. I have wondered that since you live so close to pure nature.
Tack you! Will try to make a hunting video this autumn☺️
@@thenordicway yay! Thats great!! I'll look forward to it 👍🏻
The video quality is great - what camera do you use to film? 😊
We use a Sony a7r iii as our main camera. We are really happy with it!
@@thenordicway awesome, thank you! Loved the video!! :)
We are in US and looking for a Vizla puppy breeder that will not crop the tail. I know its illegal to do so in Europe but America standard is to crop the tail. Is there a way you can recommend particular breeder/breeders that will be able to bring back to US?
