My granny squares came out all wavy (like mine always do), but I steam blocked the hell out of them and was able to fix them right up and they're perfect. I'm sewing fabric right on to the back of both sides right now, as you definitely need a liner with this one, but liners on granny square purses are complicated because the crappy side of the liner and the zipper and everything shows through. So I'm going to try to do a kind of a double liner. So far so good. Sewing fabric on to the back of the square also gave mine a little more structure, as the yarn I used was too floppy and soft. Thank you. It’s very stretchy! I don’t know how to make it less stretchy. I think it’s depends on the yarn you use. The raffia yarn is not stretch at all. I’ve been using that raffia bag with this strap for years now, the length of the strap is still the same.
Thanks for the pattern! I have completed four and will now add the lining. For some reason, they all seem slightly “ruffled” at the top opening of the purse. Wish I knew why so I could keep it from happening. Can you offer a solution to why it’s happening? Thanks!

great video and pattern for a beginner, struggled on the cord so i just did some single crochet but works just as well!
