@Letsgocaching There are no pulleys.. inside there is a weighted platform under the cache container. The cord you see is attached to that, so when the cord is pulled from the outside, the platform travels up to the level of the side "entrance," which is high enough for the cache container to protrude out the top.
I really liked the variation on this type creative geocache. I love the valve at the bottom as the red herring. I have one with a cord too but the "Y" is up. Going to put out in the spring once snow goes. If I were there I would be giving you a favorite point for sure. Thanks for the video.
@rfsbraz Once we had all the parts we needed, putting it together was pretty quick - except for one part. The piece that fits inside had to be reduced and resized and reshaped until it would fit in there properly, and that did take some time (probably about an extra hour). Most of the parts were used plumbing parts that we had already. The valve at the bottom was unnecessary, but it was damaged so we threw it in there anyway. The DWV fitting (with the 45-degree Y) was about five bucks.
Hello! On some of our caches, we take pictures during the development process, knowing that the construction might be complicated and/or interesting and therefore good for a "making of" video -- but with this particular cache, it was a collection of spare plumbing parts, and we didn't really think about taking photos to show how it was made. Sorry!
Most of our caches aren't difficult to find, or even figure out, they are just surprising. :D This particular one we put out there at a 1.5 difficulty. Only one person has ever claimed a DNF. Thanks for the nice compliment!
We will say this, though, the hardest part was shaping that one piece so that it would fit inside the slanted coupling while blocking access to the area beneath it!
Oh thank you for the shout out! I just got home from a days caching and i have an email here from you that i will responding too shortly! LOVE this water pipe cache! :-)
Nevermind about the last comment. I figured it out but it's not quite as good as this but it's about the same. The first two finders added a favorite even. Thanks for the awesome idea!

Quick question or request would you do a vid shots on how you made this. thanks for all that you do live your caches.
Simple, but a nice variation to the pipes you have to fill up to get the cache out!
What causes the cache to come up the pipe? As its not actually attached to the string.
The. Valve is exactly there for what it made you do. Anything that makes you question it is a good thing.

@CaptTerror Yay! We love those favorite points!! Thank you!
@databaseexpert Actually it's been out there for a few days now and it's doing well so far! Thanks for watching!! And for the compliment too. =D

@Hanni49er LOL All I can share is that we live in Florida, but that was a really nice thing to say, thanks!
wow how come i have not discovered you guys yet? really cool videos I subscribed and look forward to watching more :)
I wish you put what degree of difficulty you give your caches. Thanks I dig them all!
It could be attached to something under the cache which when pulled, raises along with the cache.
Love it! I have been getting back into cacheing after a 3 year absence and looking for some unique new placements.
@ThatOldBiddy Thanks so much! Thank *you* for watching!!
We appreciate you watching -- and your kind words. Thanks!
Awesome work! I hope people can find it and log it!

How do you go about making something like this? I'd like some instructions or something. My area doesn't have anything like this at all.
