Good morning Dawn and Dave ☕☕☕ Extracting honey is quite the process. Yup, bees are like any other critters, gotta keep them fed and warm through the winter. Fresh Honey 😋
52° now. I've been taking advantage to finish outdoor projects. Teens next week. I've hauled hives of bees from Bkack Duck area to Golletta CA to winter in the avocado groves. Love honey. Thank you Dave.
@Rollinghillsfarmsmn We would move them west in November, and back in early May. The keeper had a house in Baudette, and a apartment in Golletta. The avocado growers paid him. He shipped 4 loads every year. About 50 k lbs per load on stepdecks with orange nets over them. Occasionally in season I still see loads on the move. I think 500 hives.
Four seasons north live in northern Alberta. They have bee hives/lots of them. Harvest many gallons. I have a bee hive in the crack of my cedar tree. Happy New Year
Does your hive typically survive the winter? If I lived up where you are I’d have like a 10 or 12 foot snow pusher that I put on the front of that tractor man it would save you hours. I use one on a backhoe when I help a buddy of mine plow some commercial parking lots in the winter. We also have them on skid steers.
Very interesting video, so does the spinner being non ferrous metal mean you don’t lose the natural properties of the honey? Was always told you use a wooden spoon for honey. Happy Hogmanay to you n yours 🙏🏻
@@piperdoug428 it’s supposed to work that way. We sell honey jars with wooden dippers for that reason. Haven’t had spring allergies for years since I started eating Dawn’s unpasteurized honey. We have amazing clover and alfalfa by the hives too. Scottish New Year😉.
How do you get the separator cleaned out for next season???? Boiling hot water? Pretty amazing how the bee's can survive a harsh winter up here...Thanks Dave, Happy New Year.

Good morning Dave and Dawn! ☕️☕️
Morning Gary!
A sweet harvest for sure.
And sticky😅
Enjoyed the full watch Dave.
Happy New Year to you and Dawn.
And you
The honey looks wonderful!
@@raincoast9010 It’s very golden yellow this year. Last year was almost clear.
That's really cool that you and Dawn do that. Happy New Year to you both.
Charlie I have to be honest: I’m just the cameraman 😅, Dawn is the bee whisperer.
Stay warm.
@@raincoast9010 Almost 40 today. Snow is melting.
The more Honey the more Money
Happy new year to you all!

Very nice! I would have never guessed honey so late in the year.
@@HumbleHaymakers We should have harvested twice this year with the amount of honey produced. We had a great clover crop.

Rarely. Truck plows are very popular and effective here. They won’t dig in like tractor loaders. I should put one on the old Dodge.
