Super excited to see this build. I am the 4th owner of an original 70 Boss, and originality is super-important for these IF that’s what your goal is. I like the idea you are pursuing, especially the Coyote/6spd upgrade. Also better suspension and brakes will make it super-fun to drive.
I am a die hard restore to factory specs kind of guy but in this case....100% agree on the resto-mod. Great choices in drive train and small cosmetic changes tightening up the design. Two things: It's your car and our wallets are not involved. So, I say this is going to be a legendary Boss 302 when you are done!
I can’t tell you how happy I am you went this direction. I believe a car tells you how it wants to be built. It would be one thing if it had the original drive line. With its current condition, I think you are spot on. It keeps the heritage and still is all “boss 302” just from the entire lineage. Great job.
This guy is very talented I'm not a Ford guy but he definitely knows what he's doing I think he does excellent work I've never seen it in person but I do watch his videos quite a bit can't wait to see the Mustang when it's done the Boss 302 Mustang that is
I'm really going to enjoy being able to see all you give us on this one. I'll be watching every vid start to finish young guy! Bring that girl to life and up to date. Knoxville TN
Glad you decided to keep the yellow. When i was in senior high my neighbor bought a brand new Boss 302 in yellow with the window louvers , I loved that car.!
I'm 100% concours in mindset, but this is the proper candidate for a restomod build. If you'd not rescued it, in another 10 years or so, it'd be an unsalvagable hulk. When I lose my mind is when a very nice original car gets hacked up. God speed on this one...
That will be a real Cool 70 BOSS. Steelies and the dog dish poverty caps and rings or Magnums ? Spoilers and slats too ! Given all your previous cars I'm sure it will be spot on.
Just getting introduced to you and your skills. I am a real journeyman body and paint plus custom painting tech. 40 years in the field. I have owned a 69 mach 1 428 car. With that being said I decided time and money to build for myself would have stretched me very very thin. A long time friend wanted the car and saw the vision. In my shop I have used it to fill in and have also spent weeks in it. It's a resto mod..4 link rack, coil over assy. Lots of small body mod.. 5.4 out of a 07 cobra. I totally understand what you are up against and are doing. Total respect
Thanks for posting. While I would probably never take on a project of this extent it is good to know that it can be done and more importantly how to do it.
I'm a Stang fan and if it was mine, I would have went completely original but that's me. Can't wait t see your vision come to life. Until the next one, stay safe.
Cut the front fenders like they did in the Trans Am racing series. Makes the front end look lower, but to most people they won't realize why. Your build plan sounds GREAT too!!
So far a killer project, esp with the updated driveline, suspension, etc. Love the subtle exterior updates and keeping the interior mostly stock. Hopefully the steering wheel as well to stick with the stock sleeper theme. Good luck.
Restomod, Great choice !! Really looking forward to this build! Super cool way to showcase your talent. New Magnum 500 wheels?!?! Hopefully your parts suppliers see the skills you have and back you all the way!
Under these circumstances I am inclined to agree. Once one locates an increasingly rare original engine, already a very costly endeavor, we havent even gotten into the very costly rebuild that such an old Boss 302 engine is likely to require. The Boss 302 is not an off the shelf 302 but a very specialized V8 Ford built for only a few model years. Very poor performance value for what's certain to be a five figure rebuild. Best bet is to locate a Coyote crate engine, and source either a six speed manual or six speed automatic. Way better value than trying to restore a fifty year old drivetrain. Just my $3.02 (pun intended)
Love your ideas on this build! Study the factory exhaust the 2012 BOSS 302, or drive one. I was able to drive the 2012 Boss and IMO the sound was incredible!! Great channel, can't wait till you get this one done.
I personally would have went with a more stock resto but seeing as the entire drivetrain is missing I can’t blame you for coyote swapping. I look forward to this build
This is great! You are building it exactly like I was hoping and how I would do it. It is like you read my mind. Really looking forward to seeing this build!
The years of experience needed to know how all those little panels and brackets fit together, so as to figure out ahead of time, the cuts on which panels to make the one inch drop amazes me. I only wish you could swap out a '69 front clip for the '70, I think the quad lights are more suited to this car (I still like the '70 rear)
Awesome 👍 another great video of putting a great car back together thanks for taking time to let us watch, I live in Pa also would love nothing more than to come see your collection.
Had a new 69 Boss 302 which I traded in on a 72 Toyota Celia due to gas crunch and an addition on a daughter. Always loved that car. In 1982 I found a 70 Boss 302 and owned until I relocated in 2007 to Oregon. Don't know what you paid for your project but my 69 was about $4,000 and my 70 was $10,000. Sold it for $42,000 and all of a sudden my wife loved that the Grabber Orange turned in green$. Still have a special place in my heart. Look forward to your progress.
Your plan is exactly the direction I had in mind when you first showed it. We had a 69 on craigslist not long ago that had less parts than yours, guy wanted 8,500 for it. Never looked to hard at it, already have two project cars, don't need another!
Love the idea of putting in a coyote. The 2012-2013 boss 302s had a souped up version of the coyote called the roadrunner. It would be super cool if you can find one of those and put it in.
You are an exceptionally talented automobile restorer and you exhibit a very high degree of insight and logic. Deciding to "resto-mod" this Mustang is a very logical and realistic undertaking. My thoughts are, based on what you had to work with from the start, it could potentially be a very deep "Rabbit hole" you might find yourself going down if you chased the "numbers matching" restoration theme, not to mention how long it can take. I know you have your ways and means of locating much of the original missing parts, but that can easily turn into a very long and frustrating "hunt" for all of the original parts. Saying all of that, I am now pretty convinced that your decision to "Resto-mod" this Mustang is both logical, strategic and somewhat cost based, along with being a long time desire of what you envisioned of building from a "clean slate" if you will. My thoughts on this reside right in line with yours...👍🏼🙂
I am thrilled to see you go the restomod route. Kindigit just finished 2 builds using the Roadster Shop chassis. I think you should look into their Spec chassis as it is a bolt in application for the Mustang body. Gives you the four link coil overs and rack and pinion all in one package. Every thing lines up perfectly. Looking forward to this build.
So glad you're keeping the third pedal, and a six speed (Tremec?) at that. Not crazy about returning it to yellow, though. Satin black? Cool blue? Anything but resale red.
Resto is a lot of fun, did a 65 notch back 5.0 T5 cold air induction. filled in the radiator core support opening with polished aluminum, which I thought was pretty cool when I saw what you were doing with your apron covers.
Everything I was hoping you'd do you're doing it. 1000 thumbs up! Next comes the the 50 million questions of 'is it for sell afterwards' and 'how much. 🤔
VERY interesting! I've just stumbled on your channel & saw you dismantle that car with the plasma cutter! I'll be watching the build until you finish it! 👍👍
I have to admit. I just stumbled across your videos this morning. And I thought you were nuts. But then as I have been watching them today I take that back. You are very talented. It is nice to see the old Mustangs you save and bring back so they can hit the road again. And as long as you don't have the stock drivetrain a coyote with the Boss 302 intake and a 6 speed will be a nice modern upgrade.
If,, If the car was complete with the driveline then it should be restored to original. No drivetrain, It need everything anyway, Plus it is your car and you are saving it. That is what matters, awesome idea and cant wait to see it unfold
I had a ‘72 Mach 1 fastback, red with black highlights with 17’ Edelbrock rims similar to the Foose 5 spoke rims. Sold it but miss it. Would love to see one done here one day.
Such a great plan combining the new inside the old. I like the 70 style second behind a 65 fastback, but only because my Dad had a 65. I hope to build a similar restomod 65 fastback eventually, but not until after I retire. Might have to hit you up if you are still doing the shells then! Looking forward to seeing it progress.
Moving along nicely. Please build it for you or your idea's. Love the amazing talent.
Looking forward to this build, who doesn't like a 70 Boss
Super excited to see this build. I am the 4th owner of an original 70 Boss, and originality is super-important for these IF that’s what your goal is. I like the idea you are pursuing, especially the Coyote/6spd upgrade. Also better suspension and brakes will make it super-fun to drive.

I like how you keep everything super clean and organized!
Organization is key
Yeah totally amazed at what you can bring back to life and how effortlessly you make it look.
I Looking forward to see more of the Boss build👍🤓👍
I can’t tell you how happy I am you went this direction. I believe a car tells you how it wants to be built. It would be one thing if it had the original drive line. With its current condition, I think you are spot on. It keeps the heritage and still is all “boss 302” just from the entire lineage. Great job.
The 70 Boss is my favorite as I drove one in 1973 as well as 69 fastback 351 oh how I miss them , looking forward to this coming together
I like the plan with no exceptions. Should be a great ride
👍🏻 Looking forward to the Boss build
Sounds great 👍👍
Without a doubt, this is the best thing on the InterWebs. You're doing the Lord's work and saving these cars lol. Great stuff
I wouldn't exactly call it the Lord's work 😂
Lord's work, love it. 🤣
This guy is very talented I'm not a Ford guy but he definitely knows what he's doing I think he does excellent work I've never seen it in person but I do watch his videos quite a bit can't wait to see the Mustang when it's done the Boss 302 Mustang that is
Thank you, and thanks for watching
OCD makes for a clean shop and perfect gaps. Enjoy your channel.
I agree that restomod is the way to go. Can't wait to see you start this one. 69-70 was one of my fav years for Mustang.
I'm really going to enjoy being able to see all you give us on this one. I'll be watching every vid start to finish young guy! Bring that girl to life and up to date. Knoxville TN
Thanks!!
For those of us that have followed you for a long time, we know it will be perfection in the end.
Glad you decided to keep the yellow. When i was in senior high my neighbor bought a brand new Boss 302 in yellow with the window louvers , I loved that car.!

Looking forward to following this build. Glad you are keeping it yellow!
Build'm to Drive'm we think 👌 Look'n forward to this build 💪💪

Can't wait should look good
Brother you rock. Thanks for taking us along.
Excited to see this car come together!
Love it, it's going to be epic!
Love the new 302 with old school body idea. Can’t wait to see it!
Thanks for posting. While I would probably never take on a project of this extent it is good to know that it can be done and more importantly how to do it.
I look forward to seeing this build !
My favorite year mustang, the lines are perfection in my opinion. Can’t wait to see the work as it progresses
So Glad you decided on a Resto Mod...!!! Can't wait to see it evolve to a finished Boss 302!!!!👍👍👍
Like all that your doing. Upgrades along with engine and trans sounds great but expensive. Will tune in for future pics.
I'm a Stang fan and if it was mine, I would have went completely original but that's me. Can't wait t see your vision come to life. Until the next one, stay safe.
GREAT JOB!! I LOVE HOW YOU DO YOUR BUILDS!!
Looking forward to this one, it's gonna be a nice project. 👍👍👍
Perfect plan! Awesome shop!
Really like the plan , will be watching it unfold ! Don’t miss any of your procedures on tape ! Can’t wait...
Awesome, great choice! Can't wait to follow along! You da mustang man!!
Looking forward to the build Ben! #savingtherustbuckets
Cut the front fenders like they did in the Trans Am racing series. Makes the front end look lower, but to most people they won't realize why. Your build plan sounds GREAT too!!
Like everything you talked about except cutting the drip rails!👍
So far a killer project, esp with the updated driveline, suspension, etc. Love the subtle exterior updates and keeping the interior mostly stock. Hopefully the steering wheel as well to stick with the stock sleeper theme. Good luck.
Major props to you for the work you do! Can't wait to see the progress.
Looking forward to seeing a full build. Good plan.
Restomod, Great choice !! Really looking forward to this build! Super cool way to showcase your talent. New Magnum 500 wheels?!?! Hopefully your parts suppliers see the skills you have and back you all the way!
Resto mod is the way to go, when the car didn’t come with a driveline. It wouldn’t be number matching so why not resto mod it.
Just my $3.02 (pun intended)
I agree. I have a 69 z28, when I found it didn't have the original drivetrain. I'm doing a LS Twin turbo setup rack and pinion and big brakes.
My sentiments exactly!
At this point the car is essentially a clone or “Tribute Car” in today’s terms. Resto mod or save your money and find a Boss 302 in better condition.
Simply a fkn MAZING how you can take that shell back into an actual car again. Mad props chief !
Definitely happy to see you go the restomod route. That Coyote 5.0 swap will be awesome.
Looking forward to this. Regards from Ireland
Glad to hear you're going to do a full build on this one - can't wait! I can tell you're excited about finally doing one your way. Go for it!!
Love your ideas on this build! Study the factory exhaust the 2012 BOSS 302, or drive one. I was able to drive the 2012 Boss and IMO the sound was incredible!! Great channel, can't wait till you get this one done.
Right on! Looking forward to the build. Who doesn’t like a 70 boss! Coyote is the way to go. Not in my budget but should be a nice driver.
We all know what a stock Mustang looks like. Couldn’t be more excited to see your description of the custom project you described!
Looking forward to your build. I love the Coyote, and since the original driveline is gone, its seems to be a great idea
I personally would have went with a more stock resto but seeing as the entire drivetrain is missing I can’t blame you for coyote swapping. I look forward to this build
Subscribed. Looking forward to the build
This is great! You are building it exactly like I was hoping and how I would do it. It is like you read my mind. Really looking forward to seeing this build!
Sounds great. A Boss in a Boss. Perfect.
looking forward to this build!
That sounds like a great plan !
Love that 69 70 model Mustangs that's the way to go restomod

Resto mod is an awesome choice!
great idea! waiting for new videos!!! Good luck)
Be exciting to see the progress especially with Coyote Boss 302 clone motor
Can't wait to see the finish product. Would also like to see you ditch that Nike sweatshirt and wear a Peterson one.
I’m super excited to see this series! It’s going to be an awesome journey
I'm so lookin forward to this, your such an artist what ever you do will be perfect, thanks
Awesome 👍 another great video of putting a great car back together thanks for taking time to let us watch, I live in Pa also would love nothing more than to come see your collection.

Sounds like a good plan mate. Probably would of been scrapped anyway.
Looking forward to it.
Really looking forward to this build! Restromod is the way to go when a car is this far removed from original.
Your plan is exactly the direction I had in mind when you first showed it. We had a 69 on craigslist not long ago that had less parts than yours, guy wanted 8,500 for it. Never looked to hard at it, already have two project cars, don't need another!

Excited already

@@petersonrestorations I enjoyed watching a bunch of your videos. And I subscribed .I'm Looking forward to watching more.
Can’t wait to see the completed car.
Sweet! With the original engine gone, may as well make a restomod. Lots of stock restored Bosses out there.
If,, If the car was complete with the driveline then it should be restored to original.
No drivetrain, It need everything anyway, Plus it is your car and you are saving it.
That is what matters, awesome idea and cant wait to see it unfold
Don't forget the new 7.3 crate motor......... wink wink....... nudge nudge......
At least you have that G code tag!
