- The viewers requested it, and here we are. Back to this old UD Turbo Diesel Dump Truck left sitting for years in this swampy marsh.

I did manage to get it running on the last video, but the ground was just far too wet to try to do anything. With it drying out slightly, I thought I’d return to answer the question will it start and actually drive out of its watery, overgrown grave, one last time. Thanks to everyone for watching.
PS - since filming, I’ve had the eye surgery and now recovering. Авто/Мото
I made a comment that Old timers always said to me do the D shackle up tight, then back them off slightly. Based on a few of the comments here, that is bad advice, not best practice and they should always be tight.
Interesting, I understood that they bind up on the thread if stretched in use. I always turn them back a fraction then use a cable tie to stop the pin from coming loose. Coming looser ? :-)
I backed them off slightly for the forty years I have been a tradesman, I have seen many that haven't and needed to be cut off.
You have one of the best channels on RUclips. No fake drama, no over-acting because the camera is on, no distracting (always annoying) background music, no pretense; just good, honest content.
Thanks very much Mike, I did a poll a few months ago and most people said they weren’t that keen on music so that’s why I don’t have any. There are probably a few “slow” parts in sections but I’m not getting too many complaints.
@@bruceinaus"slow parts" are great. They are very much needed in these stressful times we live in. Also no music makes it so much more relaxing. Its the right choice 👍👍
There is a New Zealand contributor who has his own RUclips channel named Marty T. He has the same idea as Bruce. His commentary is very frank and factual, no obnoxious behaviour, just what the viewer wants to hear. Marty T concentrates on tractors, bulldozers and an excavator.
@@bruceinaus good luck and best wishes with the surgery, great content.
Man, I agree 100%!!
I wish I had a farm with old machinery! I’d want Bruce to come revive it 😊
Best old school mechanic I’ve seen ever
Thanks Brendon
Good video mate, i hope all goes well with your surgery and a speedy recovery 👍
Thank you, recovering now
yep, same here, best wishes :)
"Grounds Pretty Spewey !" - Oh my. Starts off with an absolute banger!
lol lol
Did you start it before filming ???¿
That diesel starts right up and just purrs. Amazing.
All the best for your eye surgery, you have a good cameraman, we enjoy your videos, looking forward to the next one, regards
Thanks Ernie, much appreciated
The reason I like watching Bruce is I think he would still be reviving old machines even if he wasn't making videos just because it's fun. I always have some project I'm fixing on, making trash into treasure
Well done Bruce, I knew if anyone could get that truck started, you could. I’m always amazed at why machinery like that just gets left as it’s seems to still be in good mechanical condition. Good luck with the surgery mate. Cheers, Stuart. Canberra.
Thanks very much Stuart, recovering now actually
@@bruceinaus That’s great to hear Bruce, cheers mate👍👍
I agree they should of put it under cover look after it and sell it if they didn't want it let someone eles fix it put to work
Ive driven one of these that was an absolute beast ,, it had a drill rig on the back and would roar like a dragon all the way up to 130k's .
Definitely an impressive truck of their time in my books .
Feels like it would be not too bad off road
Good luck with the eyes Bruce.😊
Thank you, much appreciated
There's an old Canadian comedy show called kids in the hall, best little skit is called 'try it now' . Guy gets into a car and it won't start so he opens the hood, says try it now to the wife and it still won't start. So he checks the tires. Again tells the wife try it now. Still won't start. He washes the windshield and again tells the wife try it now... nothing. Then he gets out his painting equipment and gives it a new coat of paint. Tells her try it now. It starts right up . They get in and go. Lol
lol I might look that up on here, thanks for sharing
Prayers for a perfect surgery and speedy recovery !
Wow someone that listens to the comments thanks bruce
Thanks Jason
watch from bangaldesh ❤@@bruceinaus
Never saw the siphoning process initiated like that.. pretty handy tip... As always, thanks for sharing Bruce... Hope everyone has a great day or night!
The hose with the ball valve in the end is a handy item!
cpl bucks harbor freight
Good luck with the eye surgery
Old Pom, here. Two doses of Aus, this week. First, a fella from Melbourne comes to my garage in Hartlepool, NE England, to buy Capri parts, then this. Both thoroughly enjoyable experiences. Love this stuff - why, I don’t know, but I do.
Lol having the hydraulic oil cap inside the cabin 😅 can you imagine that in a new truck
Hi Bruce, here's wishing you all the very best from a Brit in Berlin, Germany. I hope the operation goes well , is successful and you have a sppedy recovery. She's up, running and moving. A testament to Japanese engineering and your tenacity. Now to the question that's bothering me. There were obviously no serious issues when the vehicle was abandonded otherwise you wouldn't have got to where you are now so why was she sat there so long? Something for you to think about while you're recovering. Hope you keep us posted as to how you're getting on. No video, no vehicles, just a quick update about you.
Thanks very much, yes I’m not sure why it ended up there, I’ll keep everyone updated with maybe a short in the next few weeks
Great work guys, thanks for all your work, as always it’s a pleasure to watch a knowledgeable gentleman in action. Best of luck with your surgery, and hopefully we’ll see you back here soon.
Thank you, in recovery now so hopefully not too far away
Great stuff. I’ve brought a few old crocks back into life, so this is very familiar. I can smell the grease n diesel!!
The smell of mould in this cab ha ha
Glad you got the old girl moving under it's own power.
Good luck with your eye surgery.
Hope you can come back to make more interesting and great videos.
Paul. In Thailand. Oh and I'm an English Expat.
All us older guys are ailing from something. PRAYERS for you and the eye surgeon! I've had clutches go out on me before and have gotten them dumped and back to the shop but you've sure got to watch what your doing. PLEASE let us know how you're getting. CHEERS to you!
Yes we are!!

Hi from Central Arkansas. I hope you recover well, Bruce. I really enjoy your videos. Please say a prayer for my wife, as we just found out she has some sort of mass on her left kidney. God Bless.
I wish her all the best (and the rest of your family) thanks for the kind wishes
Hi Bruce, another fine job is there anything you can’t start I just love it when you get them running a great job mate, I like it as you just get stuck in to it and of you go but it not that easy you just make it look that way I enjoy every minute, Well Bruce you take care of yourself and stay safe.🛠️🛠️🛻🛻⭐️⭐️👍❤️

My mates had good results with surgery

Thanks for heading back out to this old rig. I don't see many cab over trucks like this anymore in the States, it's interesting to see how it's done down under.
Good on you, Bruce. All the best with the eyes. Look forward to the next instalment, hopefully, not that far away.👍
Thanks Paul, hopefully not too far

He never films his failures. Haaa!
@@Hjerte_Verke Bruce is too clever to fail 💪
lol, thanks gents but there’s is a couple on the channel I couldn’t get to run
By far my favorite channel reminds me of my grandpa he was a heavy equipment mechanic in Ohio for 50yrs keep it up!
I'll tell you this for nothing - it's been a long time since anyone was able to see anything through that windscreen! Man alive, it took some scrubbing! I wish you all the very best for your eye surgery and hope it all goes well. Take care.
Great job Bruce & your associate cameraman.
Good luck with the eye surgery and a speedy recovery.
Cheers Trev

Here in the states we use Morooka Buggys to carry our engine-driven welding machines up and down the treacherous Right of Way building pipeline. Haven't seen an older Morooka like that in ages. New fan here Bruce. Great videos.

I’m glad your eye surgery went well! I read in another comment where you’re recovering. I’m 38 and lost my left eye about 10 years ago; I’ve had my fair share of eye complications and surgeries.

Nice sound.
Yeh it’s got a pretty throaty note to it

Great video again Bruce, really enjoyed watching !
Good luck with your eye surgery, hope all goes well and we’ll see you back here again soon. Cheers
the "slowness" is great. Unlike anything else. Feels old school in best possible way. Keep it up, this is fantastic knowledge you're sharing
Well done Bruce, you rescued another sleeping Old Girl, and brought her back. Get well soon !!!
Good luck with the surgery Bruce. Look forward to seeing you soon. Bob.
all the best Bruce, hopefully back soon

I'd never heard of the automotive brand UD before so I looked it up. It's a Japanese truck manufacturer. Which explains why it started up again with little smoke after some TLC from Bruce. Well done!
Great work Bruce! You're a legend! Hope all goes well with the eye surgery, all the best!
Thanks for ALL your Great Vidclips .... As I am about the 'Same Vintage' as Yourself, I sure enjoy your 'Approach' and 'Attention to Detail' .... Very best to You and Yours, Best for your Eye Surgery .... Will catch you again soon .... Cheers from ChCh, NZ
Another great vlog Bruce, I just love the mischief you get up to, makes me feel young again mate. Great tip on the clutch, that was one my Pop taught me when I first started driving and never forgot it, hearing you tell it makes me think he must have told a few old mates over here to…. lol. As always mate, terrific stuff, keep them coming. Great that you got the old cane carrier going in the earlier episodes, come in handy . That truck sounds awesome when she’s raving out like that. Well done Bruce. Ps, all the best for the eye surgery mate, don’t give those nurses too much grief
Excellent sho Bruce! Hope your recovery is going well 😍
Bruce you are a legend, all the best for the surgery! Cheers Drew
