This cheap Volvo V40 has a secret history, I wish I'd checked it out with a HPi check before I had work done on the car, or even better, before I bought it cheaply at auction! Do you think you can tell the cars true mileage? I obviously didn't! Sometimes life in the motor trade is the easiest, in fact, it rarely is!

I remember my dad once going in to a dealer and enquiring about a car they had on the forecourt. It was advertised as low mileage - showing 25,000 miles. When my dad asked them how that could be true when it had over 280,000 on it when he was driving it as a taxi the month before they got very red faced!
I'm sure he got them a cracker.
Should have reported them to the police
How can you tell if the car has over 200 000 km just to be sure
Upholstery is a clue for me, particularly the drivers seat, steering wheel wear and rust on the undercarriage.
Just shows the build quality of modern cars that it can easily hide 100k miles. Good video.
Going way back to 1984, and I sold a Metro to a trader with 29,000 on the clock. A nice young lady who had bought it rang me a few weeks later to ask me to verify the mileage, which was showing 9000 miles. Told her no, and she burst into tears. Told her to get in touch with the trader and or trading standards. Never heard anything after that, Hope she nailed him....hard.
I think it was 1993 this happened to my sister-in-law brother seat Leon I think he ended up serving 6moths in jail for ABH at least the garage went out of business
@@gingernutpreacher What does ABH mean?

They would say it was showing that when you sold it last man frees all
Years ago I used to run a driving school. All the cars had done around 150,000 before the first MOT so we used to sell them before they were three years old. A chap used to come and buy them usually at 5 in the morning or late evening and always paid cash. Alarm bells rang when a chap phoned up and said he had just bought a car from a main dealer with 50k on the clock. He had washed it could just make out our logo where it had slightly etched the glass. When I told him the true mileage he went through the roof. In the end the buyer was investigated by both the police and one of these consumer programmes on TV. I understand he went to prison for a couple of years
The nasty smell isn't because of high mileage, the D5204T engine is amazing,it's more than likely had the dpf removed.
As a private buyer I've been caught out like this too, we live and learn 👍
At the start I thought it was a shame about the interior condition,
After hearing the miles it's covered I think the interior has held up very well
👍up to volvo build quality.
I have just handed back my third Mazda6 lease car. All have covered between 140-150k before their first mot. I often wonder if these cars loose a few miles before they find owner number 2. The last ‘19 plate car looked as if it had only done 20k and really was a testament to Mazda although I see they get a real slating from owners on the net. Literally nothing went wrong including flat tyres!
Great, refreshingly honest video and have subscribed. 👍
Shame people love to scam!!! Such a shame because it is a stunning car! And the C30 yeah I had that too, a 2008 with r-design body kit in Gecko green colour, but sadly some damage when I bought it, and well the colour is the WORST to do yourself hahaha (colour code 488) but great little car!
And Volvo interiors honestly are the best, it looks clean, simple and it doesn't age badly at all. And everything just feels connected and clean.
Happened to me a few years back again with BCA.
Pinto said 67k, but found a couple of invoices for a year back which said it had 130k then !!!
BCA took it back straight away thank God !
Good luck and I'm sure you'll be buying better cars again.
Just subscribed as well by the way !👍
Watched a couple of your videos now and all I can say is thank you for being so refreshingly honest in your approach to this, and your business in general. You’ve got a very natural presentation style which makes your videos very easy to watch. With this specific car, another warning sign would have been the digital instrument binnacle - these came with the facelifted model, so before this example’s time. You’ve certainly earned a subscription from me, and I look forward to more of your vids 👍🏻
Thanks Anthony, I really appreciate that and very pleased to have you on board 👍
I second this, just come across your channel. 👍🏻
Gave a deposit on a TT 3 years ago, guy said he was selling for his brother and didn’t have service history. He sent it over later that day, it said car had been serviced since new at main dealer in Guildford. So rang them up, they’d never seen the car!! Checked the MoT history which was all in Newcastle area!! Took me 2 months to get deposit back…if that guy in Devon comes back to you ref his son’s TT let me know (hope it’s as good as the 2 you bought from him)
Bloody hell, that's unfortunate. Some really shady characters out there. At least you spotted the fake mileage sooner rather than later.
Not the 1st time BCA haven't declared it especially when it's been bought by their own company We Buy Any Car. They don't declare hoping the buyer doesn't check, if they do they refund but its worth the gamble. BCA these days just sell the rubbish they don't want to retail through Cinch.
New subscriber. After watching the 7 series respray. If they went to all the trouble of clocking I would have thought they would have put a similar mileage on the cambelt sticker. Mot checker had got to be the first thing to do before buying from anyone.
Just came across this as I’m in the market for a V40, you’ve gained a new subscriber. Now for the hours and hours of watching your previous videos 👍🏻
Thanks!
I knew someone years ago that had some rare version of a mk4 Escort RS turbo. At the time normal doggy RS turbos fetched strong money. To not lose value he would disconnect the speedometer (mechanical) for 11 months a year and drive off of knowing the gears and revs for speed. He commuted 85 miles a day but the car showed only about 3000 miles done a year. Servicing was done in time with the service book (looong overdue in the real world) and he sold a very low mileage, expensive car after 5 years. Made me never trust mileage one iota.
MOT history takes about a minute on a phone, I nearly got caught on a 2012 Passat that had been clocked by 30k. Bad luck I’m afraid
Hopefully BCA will take it back and reimburse you for the work done. Only real tell tale of mileage is the worn alcantara and shiny steering wheel. All the best for 2023 from a new subscriber who only found the channel yesterday!
Thanks Barry!
Great video fella, it's brilliant you have sort of showed us even though you are in the trade you bought it thinking it was a legit car and just looking at it on your post it looks a nice little car nothing stands out to me it was a high mileage car and hats off to you for showing it some people might have been embarrassed to think they had been had, big respect really hope you get back all your money you have spent on it, all the best for the new year
Thanks Kevin!
Great Video I don’t buy much of BCA because they are the same level as Copart. Very dishonest company. I would have checked the mot history though.. hope you get all your money back.
Subscription added! Bad luck
On the Volvo, guess they do hide their miles well too. As you say , cuppa tea, lesson noted and on to the next one
Do you know what, I think you got what it takes!
I mean the full package your really believable!
Seriously you’re the man !
I wouldn’t trust anything about that car including the cambelt sticker, putting on the door is weird because they are usually put under the bonnet. Also the shut line where the bonnet meets the bumper is wonky!
That sticker comes with the cambelt kit, so can be stuck anywhere the mechanic wants, infact if it was stuck under the bonnet the person selling it to wbac would have removed it, i would assume the cambelt has been done, and the mechanic stuck the sticker on the inside without the owners knowledge, it also ensures that the car does not come back to the owner as it secures the cambelt wont snap unexpectedly raising concern further down the line.
Mine is on 85k, still look newish. Look at the driver door rubber frame, completely worn out. But i appreciate some owners can be rougher than others with their cars...
So calm, measured and professional.
I have an Astra 1.4i Estate that I bought 25 years ago, with it's first MOT. I still have every single MOT certificate to prove the current mileage of less then 80,000 is genuine. However, the mechanic at the garage that I used for decades for the annual service and MOT, used to tell me almost every year that my car was "clocked". Despite it never having had any major wear related work done. I never smoked in the Astra after I bought it because of the state my previous car got in. Smoking every day while driving 15 miles to work a couple of years.
A good thing to get rid of smoke etc is to park the car in a heated garage for a weekend with 4 small jars that you pour some vinegar into. It removes almost all sorts of mysterious fragrances.
Interesting, first time I’ve heard that one!

@@JohnSmith-ws1dp Yeah, ‘rinsed’ mate👍 I’ll be getting my money back and I got some content out of it. If you were bidding on 20-30 cars everyday, you’d soon realise you don’t get time to do a full background check on every car, especially as the likelihood is that you won’t win it anyway
You need an enzyme end of anything heavy pet mess blood sick smoke you need to change all filters cabin and pollen and if you really stuck its possible the smell is into the foam of the seating. 👍
That wouldn't remove the smell from any of the fabric whatsoever lol there's no magic trick first thing change the filters remove the seats deap clean with brush drill and dedicated fabric cleaner and an enzyme first likely. If all else fails I'd remove and power wash the seat if you have somewhere to put them they will dry. A nice day or a garage with air flow and heat. They can take a while but will dry. Or be smart and buy a interior out the scrappy. Please remember only remove seats if you know what your doing with torque on the bolts and airbag systems.
Like you have mentioned... MOT check history should be sufficient as a check... Learnt something new... How much someone has gone through a lot for them to hide the cars history.
Yeah, bit foolish really, you’ll never hide the MOT history. Then again, I didn’t check 🤷♂️😅
Yes, one simple MOT history check- this one doesn't make good reading!
Regarding the ECUs being locked out, I drive a V40, mine is 2013 D2 and my mechanic couldn't see the state of the DPF because for some reason Volvo themselves lock some of the ECUs, the only way to get a full readout is to use their VIDA diagnostic and scan tool. You also have to use VIDA when you code injectors and things like that since Volvo does not allow third party diagnostic tools to access those parametes in the ECU.
I've got a volvo V40 D4 r design 2.0 diesel year 2014, I'm having issues with the EGR, and I think it might be burning oil,
This a common problem anyone?
you have earned my Sub. Excellent content so honest.
Welcome aboard!
Your right, you should check, however, BCA is supposed to be the standard in the Auction business failed in their duty and miss represented the vehicle “knowingly or not” so at least they are taking it back. They should give you a pass on fees for the next one you buy as a goodwill gesture. Don’t hold your breathe though.
You can maintain a car and replace parts and clock it to make it seem like it’s done less mileage; but more often than not, the interior will tell the truth. People tend to overlook Seat, steering wheel, seatbelts fraying on the edges, fabric damage/staining, etc. 👍
Good tips there.
I am buying a Ford Fiesta with 60,000 miles on a 64 plate. It is a cat S which had front damage initially. My son buys mainly damaged Audis and Mercs and repairs them for resale so it didn’t worry me so much as I know what a good job he does.
The Fiesta does actually look great on the outside and pristine on the inside which is great for an 8 year old in a more rare dark red.
I was happy enough to pay a small deposit as they said they will put it through its MOT and do all the repairs and clean the engine bay.
Also there is a warranty of 6 months on major parts.
When I go back after the work is done, I am wondering about mileage and the brakes in general for before I actually pay and take the car.
This video is directing me look at any available history, but not sure on what to look for to analyse brakes through the alloy wheels or see the state of the exhaust.
The car is very cheap for year, almost half price and my son lives over 100 miles away.
This is my venture into buying a possible problem car at risk of being a great or poor buy.
The engine was dusty from paint spraying. A loud screeching noise from a back wheel where the man said it was the brake.
The exhaust had a rattling noise when the engine was just ticking over and finally a rear reflector is broken.
We have a 10 year old Volvo at work for a runaround. It’s done nearly 300,000 miles and still drive spot on.
I went straight on the Govt web site for MOT check & there's the confirmation on the mileage, as well as a list of serious problems. All available to anyone with the internet, not rocket science!
Rob what do you mean a list of serious problems. All available to anyone ?
Great video.
Soon as l smell a car with smoke it really puts me of buying it. Has happened a few times to me. For high miles depending on price and condition.
I would probably leave this one alone. If you can get your money back.
2:10 That picture you flashed to I've seen that backdrop on countless cars on AutoTrader. I pretty much avoid dealers as a whole. I've heard a lot about dodgy businesses out there and I'm not here to generalise but I can sort of avoid the risk by going independent.
I hate that they used a clone backdrop for their cars and I hate with a passion dealers that blur out the registration. IMMEDIATE RED FLAG because you can't check MOT history etc on the spot
This grinds my gears can't see what person thinks I'll hide the reg that will make people want to buy it straight away BIG red flag and that fake showroom backdrop annoying aswell
I've had a lot of Volvo's with various mileages, my current XC60 has 130k but looks stunning, the only thing that gives it away is the seat gap between seat and back I can slide my hand into instead of a snug fit, mine has full service history, everything gets sorted within a month or two and no your one looks like it should be 80k but obviously someone has deliberating been doing the dirty, there are always people being idiots, the implications could be much worse if the timing chain has not been done while driving is not a nice thought. Better do those checks next time Joe.
I sold my Audi 100 way back in 1991 with 140,000km on it, 8 years later I spotted it for sale on a second hand dealers forecourt near my work (it was a rare colour, copper metallic) out of curiosity I went to have a look at it, it was showing 220000km now, had cheap nasty tires on it and a tow bar fitted, it looked a bit sorry for itself, they were asking more for it than I sold it for 8 years previously, many weeks later after not being sold and still on the forecourt I went back for another look and this time it was showing 123000km.
One thing as a smoker I used to do when selling a car was wet vac the seats and give the interior a good clean put a pot half full with vinegar in the back and the front change it every two days for 8 days then use an air freshener bomb and boom smoke smells gone for good
Looked after it should go on for almost ever. My parents had a 145 auto for 30 years, the last car dad bought before he passed away was a V70 auto that's now over 18 years old and with my daughter... it was promised to me but um kept it after he passed as she couldn't bear to part with it until she gave up driving by which time I'd had to get a new car for myself. The V70 has certainly proved more costly to run than the 145 but it currently shows almost no signs of rust despite having been in the wars a few times, an the paintwork still comes up great with a bit of polish (I do that when I can, daughter doesn't have the time and lives 2 hours away from me). Unfortunately these days there are so many fraudsters etc about that I would not buy a car without doing a paid check on it first.
This is the 1st video of yours ive come across, hope your others are as interesting, just subscribed.
Me too! Thanks for the sun
happened to me they make volvos to good bought a 940 turbo lovely car developed piston slap on 3 pot after a couple
weeks went to volvo check service history it had done 120,000 miles more than the sevice book took it back to the garage
they didnt want to know that was twenty five years ago seems there still at it its a shame it does leave a bad taste allround
I bought a dodgy volvo v70 with fake mileage in 2011, for myself. Story was it was the seller's sister's car who'd moved abroad, there was supposedly history which they'd send on when they found it. Mileage issue came to light when i got it Mot'd, this was the first year previous mileages started to be shown on the certificate. It turned out to be fairly good car, depite having 90,000 more miles than indicated, I kept it for 4 years
My motorhome needed new clocks. The 'specialist' I found corrected the mileage down by 100,000 miles. Talking to him his usual customers have luxury cars on low mileage leases who can save £0000s by having the mileage lowered to 5000 per annum. And indeed in his workshop was a Bentley mulsanne.
I've just recently lost £4k being ripped off with a dodgy car after not doing basic checks , I've been feeling pretty stupid about it too so your video has really helped as, if it can happen to you then it can happen to any of us !
Thanks for the insights and for making me feel less of a Muppet ! 😁
Just about to buy a Volvo V40 2018 for about 9k. Did the MOT check, another history check and going to take it to a mechanic for a full check for about 180 pounds. I hope I'm doing everything I can, fingers crossed
Our Volvo 2012 ‘62’ V40 D2 lux ES is fully loaded and in very very clean condition - it was on 181k - drives like it’s on 60k - not all high mileage cars seem like they are high mileage especially if they have been looked after
Good to see the alternative to the "I've bought the cheapest X in the UK and made £££".Not great news but could have been worse, at least it was warranted mileage but just goes to prove that they are turning so many cars via BCA/WBAC that some must slip through.. buyer beware.
Absolutely and they’re clearly not vetting them very well so bound to be some bad ones slipping through the net
I've seen your videos come up as suggestions for me to watch ,how rude of me that I haven't watched your videos before.i must say like other comments that it's refreshing that you are honest.

Stumbled upon your channel and have now subscribed. I’d have not pegged this Volvo as having such high mileage. It appears in decent shape. Cheers 👍🏽🙂
Awesome, welcome aboard!
I have exactly the same car but a year later. Without the mot check not sure I would have suspected such a high mileage. I think the smoke smell and the interior would have put me off but then, I’m not a car dealer, I would have been buying for me.
Hi,
You had any problems with the EGR on your car?
Very informative and honest video, like this sort of stuff 👍
I know a dealer who back before digital displays used to disconnect the speedometer from the gearbox and drive the new cars around on his trade plate. Obviously the buyers would see maybe 10 miles on the clock like any brand new car, but in reality it had probably done more than a thousand. Mind I also know someone who used to do that with their own car back in those days, his 1988 Astra probably had done well over 150k but the clock said 62k. A dealer in around 1991 gave him full book price which was about £4k despite it literally being held together with sticky tape. A few weeks later I was passenger in his brand new car & we drove passed the dealer who had the car on display for £1,200, I’m surprised they even fixed the issues it given they had already lost a fortune on it. That car was still on the road as late as 2000/2001 given it is listed as untaxed with the tax due Aug 2001. I’m surprised it lasted that long to be fair.
Used to work for Volvo (not a dealer) and saw a couple of cars come back to us clocked.
For reference - foam engine cover is for sound deadening and also for passenger impact safety reasons.
Boot should have a ‘false floor’ that covers all the spare wheel housing.
Seats look excessively soiled/dirty. That alcantara should be soft and is hard wearing
You're right I think it's the ash more than anything that makes it smell, my partner smokes in the car (I don't mind it doesn't bother me) and we keep a car ashtray (the ones that the lids seal shut) and it doesn't smell of smoke at all and plus I keep on top of cleaning it at least once a week so ash or tobacco never becomes embedded in the carpets, I think that's the problem, shame really as the v40s are really quite nice!
I feel your pain... Recently bought a car (Privately).. 70K miles. Limited Service History, but DVLA MOT History and HPI all check clear, Car looked fantastic, and drove brilliantly. No badly stone chipped paint, pockmarked or faded headlight lenses, leather seat bolsters, steering wheel, carpet wear, or cigarette smoke(LOL), so no problems right? or so I thought.... Car went to a specialist for some work and when they investigated the DSG Gearbox for mileage it was closer to £250K miles!!! Moral of the story. Check, check and check again. MOT History Mileage should not be relied upon without supporting DOCUMENTED service history to track it against. HPI Mileage discrepancy is almost a waste of time.. It is far easier to clock a car's mileage now in 2024 that it has ever been.. Buyer be (very, very) aware! It's a sad indictment of the world we live in.
Volvos sometimes have gauge issues and have to be sent off to be fixed. You can fill out a slip when you send it in to have the odometer changed.
Those seats scream huge mileage, looks like an ex taxi. We bought a Golf online from a VW main dealer 200 miles away and it wasn't until we drove it away that we smelt the smoke inside; took about three months to clear.
Hello from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 came across your channel and I really enjoyed all the your videos definitely subscribed 👍👍👍

Hi I am first time car buyer. Between a Volvo V40 2015 and a Toyota Auris 2013 both having done 100k miles for around 5k GBP, could you please tell me which one is a good buy.
Great to hear WBAC got screwed over - OR they have been caught out clocking cars (wouldn't shock me).
@6:16 Don't tell a junkie to not being a junkie while using his car. It won't work. 😊
Maybe Car Vertical could sponsor you?
Great content only just found you, have subscribed thank you!
My V40 with roughly 250k Miles and the same engine and transmission is still running like a dream. There is nothing wrong about buying a high mileage Volvo, if it has a Volvo engine, not a Ford engine. I’ve even done a remap from 150hp to 210hp and it drives perfectly fine.
Good to know, mines ticked over 180 and seems to be doing great so far touch wood!! Apart from some infotainment annoyances
Volvo's never had "Ford engines" in them, even when Ford owned Volvo. The diesels were from Peugeot and the petrol engines were chain driven units from Mazda.
Why wouldn’t WBAC or BCA or the dealer actually do the most basic free checks? Seems weird that.
Bought a RAC Transit from BCA showing 74k when I went through the history it's was 150k and I went mad
It had speedo change
In those days they decided to refund me the difference and I kept it selling it days later too . RAC was embarrassed 😊
an auction is the last place I would go to to buy any car, they are there for a reason, they are not forecourt quality and you need to check them very carefully as if they are misrepresented it is down to the dealer for six months
I had a 2005 volvo v50 with tampered milage, wad a solid car though. Now I have a 2013 bmw that is already knackered.
I have one of these, it’s a 65 plate with the newer D4 engine that’s much more refined and quicker. They all seem to rack up high mileage, mine is on 130k now, they are ideal for motorway driving. Finding one with Less than 100k is rare and super expensive.
The 4 cylinder VEA are crap and will never be better than the earlier D3/D4 with the proper 5 pot Volvo engine.
@@jamie-hb8gy it’s a valid opinion, but from my personal experience from a driving perspective the newer D4 knocks the spots off the older one. However I’m guessing the newer one is more complex and may be more unreliable at higher mileage. Mines at 130k now so hopefully I have a few years before it starts going wrong 😀
@@jonathanfrankel6787 my d4 is also at 130k and runs like new
@@sersolo3112 I like the fact that they are very understated but you can pretty much beat anything German away from the lights or on the motorway. Leaving them wondering what exactly the hell it is you are driving. Immature? Yes but I love it !
The VEA D4 might be quicker and more economical than the older 5-pot D4, but I certainly wouldn't call it "more refined", and the capacity for moon mileage isn't the same.
I'd rather have the 5-pot any day (albeit mines a D5 in an S80), but to each their own.
For the smell, try using a ONA air fresher, fresh linen (£10). I guarantee it will work 100%.
A steep lesson learned for sure. It's long been the case that modern cars wear the miles well so is almost impossible to go off condition alone. I had a mate who sold a 1992 Rover 825 with 178k on it to a local part worn tyre place many moons ago. I just happened to be passing another dealer sum 10 miles away from this tyre place to find this Rover there marked up at a grand more than what my mate sold It for.Out of curiosity I had a look at It and discovered It had been given a haircut and was now showing 78k,when this dealer was Informed he just reduced the price by a grand, but still tried to sell It?
Happens quite a lot even to this day (as proven by this car I guess) I used to quite often lose out on cars at auction then see them up for sale locally with a lot less miles. Would make it much easier to clear a profit if you could make up your own mileage 🙄
Thanks for sharing valuable information. Where is your garage, please? I will be happy to buy a car from you in the near future. 😊
I wud not have seen it looks ok it don’t look a 186k car to me looks a tidy motor .Nice one Happy new yr to ya dude 🙂🍾✌️
Unfortunately you can never tell high mileage as these vehicles are motorway mileage so you can always do a Car vertical check worth every penny checks stolen in loads of countries, mileage check & accidents and hpi checks .
PS new to your channel
I admire your honesty
Well done, thanks for sharing
I've brought one recently, but regret my purchase after realising these models have numerous electrical gremlins, no engine temperature guage on the analog version of the dash, fuel economy is absolutely appalling, parts are expensive - difficult to source and awkward to fit/fix... A lesson learnt the hard way
It sounds like you got a bad one 😅.
I’ve had mine for 3 years and never had any issues with it.
Mine is a d4 diesel, so it’s honestly pretty economical considering it’s a 5cyl.
honestly i haven’t really seen parts being expensive 😅.
Could be an eu thing though. I Service the car my self and the normal servicing parts are honestly pretty reasonably priced.
A perfect advert for Car Vertical!
You also don’t get the auction fees back if you take it back to them. Not sure if that would stack up in court though.
It’s fairly unusual to clock a car when it’s easy to check the history online. Can you turn much profit if you have put in over 5k on a 2013 model even if the mileage was right?
Maybe depending on the Scenario of returning a car but every time I’ve returned something faulty/misdescribed I’ve had a full refund, including fees 👍
You can’t lock out the ECU’s. If you use Vida you’ll get access to them and it will tell you that there is a Mila he discrepancy. The only way they can adjust the milage is with VDASH.
How did you start up your videos are brilliant I thought you was a mechanic but I guess not, what did you do before your dealership 🤔🤔👍👍
I’m a gas engineer by trade, but I’ve always been a bit of a Del Boy so I’ve had a business importing (and designing) electronics from China at one point. Modified and sold motorbikes at one point and have been doing this for around 4/5 years now
That car is actually a good advert for Volvos in some ways - it has worn that high mileage surprisingly well. Not obvious from the video at all.
Shame, I have a V40 and love it. They are great little cars for daily driving.
very fast & reliable too
Every car trader as been stung with a lemon, if you're busy you don't have time to look at mot history before buying every car because it's to time consuming, but i can say over the last 2 years i've sold we buy any van around 4 vans the oldest being 18 months old and they have never asked if mileage is correct (the mileage was correct on them all) and i have been on BCA site and seen the vans on there stating mileage warranted, so they clearly do it to get more money
Bad luck there!
I would demand your costs to be reimbursed or threaten legal action?
Surely the fraud can be traced back to the person who committed it through the purchase history?
If they don’t get pursued they keep doing it and others will be caught out?
Good luck with your outcome 👍🏻
Honest video..... Subbed.
The dvla website says new log book issued April 2023 so someone bought it
Would be interested to know what BCA do with car on return. That mot history is crazy. 3 mots done on 31 mar 2023.
They sold it again, still advertised on 80,000 miles!
@@ShiftingMetal why am I not surprised? They knew when they sold it to you. And they've just blatantly gone and done it again. Aren't there laws against this?
Honestly with AI the access to simple & cheap algorithms should easily allow auction houses to tell the discrepancy between publicly available information & current millege. Stuff like this simply shouldn't happen but I guess it isn't in their interest to do so.
Any bad smelling cars ,try chlorine dioxide tablets , big cup of water, dump 50-100 grams of tablets in there, leave it over night and then let in some fresh air to rid of the chlorine smell. Does the trick every time especially on mouldy damp cars.
Its common practice for me to check mileage and souch before buying a car
Great vid though
Do you buy 30/40 cars a month though?
@@ShiftingMetal Of course not. But sometimes spending a little more time to check the history of the car will save you from stuff like this.
Bad times! You've gained another subscriber, though :)
Awesome, thanks James 👍
That pic of the volvo indoors with the balcony behind. I see that shot a lot with different cars. Is it some kind of software package..?
It's how BCA backdrop their pictures, so if you see that, it's come from there 👍
@@ShiftingMetal thanks.worth knowing. Some sellers leave those pics on adds seems a little lazy on their behalf
Bad news mate at least you can get your money back
Could of been some one buying it private and not getting there money back
Would never have had that down as 186k mileage, looks alright. Probably motorway miles.
Cars get clocked all the time under 3 years old only way to check is a good checkable service record
Should have been a new subscription 😂 it was an interesting watch 👍🏻
