God I’m so happy you boys jammed to some High on Fire. Now you need to check out Sleep and Om. 2 more amazing bands that deserve love too. The singer/guitarist of this band is Matt Pike (a legend in stoner metal and doom metal circles). He is also the guitarist for Sleep who are absolute legends in the stoner metal genre and the vocalist/bassist for that band (Al Cisneros) is also the same for Om which only consists of bass and drums (no guitars if memory serves). Definitely worth checking out imo. Excellent work as always my dudes!!
That intro was 🔥🔥🔥, I'm definitely getting Motorhead (and Bolt Thrower) vibes with this song. I've heard of this band before but this is my first time listening to them. I'm gonna check out more from these guys, thanks to whoever requested this song! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
Just saw them live last night on their 25th anniversary tour. Show was off the hook, killer crowd moving to the music, not a bunch of chumps with their cell phones in the air. Their energy is still top notch. Rad times.
Someone asked him once, "why are there never any bad riffs on your records?" and Matt replied, "because I don't write shit riffs!". I wish I could find that interview again, it was the best!
Yes!!! The mighty High on Fire. Death is this communion, rumours of war, bastard samurai and fertile green are all great songs to check out. They had probably the loudest concert I have ever attended. 🤘
Red Fang is the only one of those they haven't heard yet. I would request them myself, just not sure which makes the better starter video: Wires or Prehistoric Dog. Also might want to check out Early Man. Death is the Answer to My Prayers is probably the best to start with. The real tragedy is they've only heard one Clutch song so far. Still gotta get to Elephant Riders, Electric Worry, and my favorite, Burning Beard, just to name a few.
This band is basically Motorhead viewed through a post-thrash metal lens, fused with filthy stoner metal. Matt Pike just sounds like he has smoked every last cigarette in America which makes it sound more extreme than it really is.
Yo this is the best description of High on Fire I’ve ever heard! Cheers… Matt is also a character just like Lemmy was. He’s definitely my favorite guitar player who’s still at it today.
High on Fire is amazing, my first experience with them was Adult Swim had an animated music video for their song, The Black Plot, and I haven't heard a single bad song from them.
These have so many bands they've been influenced by. Just found these this morning, very old skool thrash/heavy metal and the vocalist sounds very similar to orange goblin's. Orange goblin is a band worth looking into.
Honestly this is prob a top 20 song of all time for me lol. High on fire is a stellar band yall would love. Check out some tracks from their album death is this communion. It doesn't miss. Great video!
Well hell! Lost track of these guys after "Surrounded by Thieves", not because I wanted to, life just happened I guess. Many thanks for the re-introduction! Have a good one....
Really good to see you rocking out with High On Fire, one of my favourite metal bands. Snakes for the Divine is a wonderful showcase of the band's skills and musicianship. The song is more inspired by the writings of David Icke, whom Matt Pike was really into, as was I. It is about the control of the people by the forces behind religion, money, and politics. I have always viewed the song as an anthem for rebellion against the hidden hand. We are more than we know, and we are greater when we work together.
With the commentary at the end, ask me anything. I have a Masters in Religious studies. Sorry to flood the comments, just super excited for this one, thx again
Fuck yeah boys! Matt Pike is a legend, you gotta check out more and listen to Sleep. Holy Mountain is a staple album. We'll get you into the Stoner/Doom scene yet.
Hi gentleman. Good Sunday. Hope u guys r ok. Just waitin for that special Fear Factory reaction. Collapse is the jam. Can't wait. I kno it's comin soon. Thanks u crazy kids.
The vocalist kinda reminds me of Venom inc and Celtic frost a bit. The instruments remind me of ministry and motorhead! Definitely a really cool mix of sounds!
If you guys liked this you need to check out Matt Pikes other band Sleep. High on Fire is more Motörhead inspired sludge metal but Sleep is Black Sabbath inspired Stoner Doom metal.
Probably the best pure metal band going, they don't really have any subgenre. Those who call it stoner metal are just associating it to Pikes membership in Sleep. The song is about a baker making a cake when someone slams the door, "Ride up, fall down!"
@@SBrown-ti8xe Then I've been listening to whatever the hell 'sludge' metal is for 40 years and it wasn't 'sludge' metal back then because this basically similar to Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, though more musically refined than the former and less orchestral than the latter but similar themes, like a lot of older metal.
A band I used to roadie for did a month long tour with these guys. They're Amazing live. Hard to believe it's just three people. Speaking of awesome live bands, Jinjer is going to be playing at the Tabernacle Atlanta on December 10th. I got my tickets and meet and greet already.
Check out 10,000 years by Hight on Fire and the guitar player’s/singer’s original band Sleep! They are on of the OGs in stoner metal and absolute legends! Some good songs to jump in on are Holy Mountain, Dragonaut, The Botonist, and Marijuanaut’s Theme!
Bastard Samurai and Frost Hammer from this same album is also amazing. Also Check out the band SLEEP's songs Dragonaut, Aquarian, Holy Mountain ,From Beyond, (and Sonic Titan from The Sciences album) Then Check out OM- State Of Non Return, Addis, Thebes, Cremation Ghat I and II, and On the mountain at dawn.
I’m sure it’s been mentioned in the comments somewhere but Matt Pike (vocals and guitar) was in a band called Sleep before HOF. You should check out their super short song Dopesmoker
Here's another artist to check out, if interested "Bruce Hornsby &The Range - The Way It Is (Live In Rockpalast 1990)" there is a rapper that covered this, I look forward to watching you react to this one. Thanks and I'll catch ya later👍✌🎶
How about some Down-bury me in smoke, hail the leaf, stone the crow, lifer, temptations wings, eyes of the south, we knew him well. Really anything by Down
The religious stuff about the earth being 6000 years old wasn't in the Bible at all, or any religious texts! It was entirely made up by a Bishop or a Cardinal or something, I wanna say some time in the 1700s. And in the story of Job, Satan just casually comes into heaven to say what's up to God, and that's when God shows off how devout Job is and that whole thing starts off.
Good reaction. Terrible song choice. More than half the song is the same damn riff being played over and over again. It needed more variety. Highlight of the song was the intro.

@@robdurfee6861 will do, thanks brotha! 🤜🤛🤙🤙
Yes! I thought motorhead too! Lol
@Big Homie Steve The Metal Head what's been going on my dude?!
💙👊🏼
Inferno era Motörhead mixed with Bolt Thrower is spot on. Good call because High On Fire is criminally underrated and overlooked still to this day.
Just saw them live last night on their 25th anniversary tour. Show was off the hook, killer crowd moving to the music, not a bunch of chumps with their cell phones in the air. Their energy is still top notch. Rad times.
The almighty Matt Pike.. riff master!

High on Fire has many bangers. Also Clutch,Red Fang, and Mastadon have very similar styles.
Red Fang and Clutch don't sound like High on Fire at all.
@@butchvitothe sword - age of winters sounds pretty HOF inspired
Firebreather from Germany sounds as close as it gets to High on Fire 🔥 , you're welcome
This band is basically Motorhead viewed through a post-thrash metal lens, fused with filthy stoner metal. Matt Pike just sounds like he has smoked every last cigarette in America which makes it sound more extreme than it really is.
Honestly, he probably has smoked that many lol
While guzzling all the whiskey

Hell yea! And yes Hollywood is correct: No Ones on the pronouncement if my user name. Peace fellas and thx again,~David
This is such an epic metal song. The more I listen to it, the more I appreciate it
These have so many bands they've been influenced by. Just found these this morning, very old skool thrash/heavy metal and the vocalist sounds very similar to orange goblin's.
Orange goblin is a band worth looking into.
Matt Pike is the shit, funny had my Arik Roper HOF t-shirt on yesterday 🤘 How about some more Clutch - Electric Worry or Black Umbrella. Good blues.🎸
Clutch! Their latest track Slaughter Beach is 🔥
Dude, if they listened to Black Umbrella (personal fav of mine) it would be amazing
@@robdurfee6861 yeah, i love it too,
@@bax8203 i watched the premier a couple days ago, it was dope.

My favorite band! Finally got to see them live couple days ago in NH, phenomenal show! And this song was absolutely brutal live
Well hell!

Finally someone is reacting on High On Fire! One of the last true metal bands of the last 20 years!
That intro always pumps me up.
Fuck yeah boys! Matt Pike is a legend, you gotta check out more and listen to Sleep. Holy Mountain is a staple album. We'll get you into the Stoner/Doom scene yet.
Fuck yeah, great reaction! High On Fire never disappoint
Great reaction to a phenomenal band! Please check out Down when you get a chance.
Touch peel and stand - days of the new
Yeeeesss!! Please keep requesting this song, I was trying for a while but I gave up. That song is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi gentleman. Good Sunday. Hope u guys r ok. Just waitin for that special Fear Factory reaction. Collapse is the jam. Can't wait. I kno it's comin soon. Thanks u crazy kids.
Like a modern day Motorhead, it's just 3 dudes making all this noise.
And with a punk rock drum set!
I’ve yet to find a HoF song that I haven’t liked. Bastard Samurai from this same album is one of my favorites.
The vocalist kinda reminds me of Venom inc and Celtic frost a bit. The instruments remind me of ministry and motorhead! Definitely a really cool mix of sounds!
Yeah he does have a bit of the 'Thomas G Warrior' vibe about him
This is great guys. Love it. I highly recommend you react to the live version of this song so you can appreciate the raw sound and guitar skills.

Y'all need to check out a stoner classic: Sleep- Dragonaut
It's Pike's first band
Second that, great band. Great reaction doods.
Morning fellas! Never heard of this band. I really love the guitar and bass! Great song! Thanks guys!🤓👍
Matt Pike for president
If you guys liked this you need to check out Matt Pikes other band Sleep. High on Fire is more Motörhead inspired sludge metal but Sleep is Black Sabbath inspired Stoner Doom metal.
You guys don’t know anything about metal but I’m glad you got your faces melted and liked it, it was fun to watch 😂😂😂😂🤘🤘🤘
The next best High on Fire songs are: Bastard Samurai and 10,000 years

Welcome to the steam roller that is High On Fire, boys! Matt Pike {guitar, vocals} is a legend.
Dude!!! Listen to The Black Plot by these guys, their most intense song for sure
Just saw these guys line in Vegas at Psych fest. If you ever get a chance to catch them, do yourselves a favor. Ridiculously awesome live.
You will never truly be High, unless you'e High On Fire!

I’m sure it’s been mentioned in the comments somewhere but Matt Pike (vocals and guitar) was in a band called Sleep before HOF. You should check out their super short song Dopesmoker
They really should! It's only just over an hour!
It's basically the intro to a prog song.
"To Cross the Bridge" would be a good place to go from them next
Great band!! Great track!! Killer breakdown!
Rumours of War is an absolute classic by High on Fire.
Matt Pike is a legend! You should listen to his other band as well, Sleep! Should be right up your alley
I worship at the alter of Pike. His discog is legendary. Please give High on Fire's The Face of Oblivion a shot, it's a solid masterpiece.
I got a motor head/ slayer vibe
Ya...I thought motorhead but heard some spots that reminded me of slayer too
That breakdown does sound like it's ripped straight off of Seasons in the Abyss
@@mikethemotormouth yes!!! I totally thought seasons to the abyss too! Lol
Man y’all really need to hear the new High on Fire “Burning Down” the video is sick 😳🤯🤤🖤oh & Matt Pike is the man!!
Oh yes. What a band. Try Fury Whip by High on Fire. Its toooo good...
They got there name from Richard Pryor free basing Coke and caught his hair on fire 🔥
Matt pike sweating like a beast live is one the best things ever
Love the chunky guitar work..f*cking hard
Great song! It's on my Conan RPG Playlist.
Pretty well versed theologically so hit me up to chat. We have before!
You should react to the High on Fire song "10,000 Years" from their first album.
Once again….Bay Area! We will always be the epicenter
It's kinda like Power/Thrash with some of the guitar melodies. Good stuff.
Listen to Sleep. The lead singer/guitar player for High on Fire is the guitar player for Sleep.
I'm old an shit so it will never happen, but if I was a wrestler or boxer or MMA fighter this would 100% be my walk out music.
My favorite band🤘🤘 listen to “SPEWN FROM THE EARTH” and “FURY WHIP”!!
Track dark we pray off the same album is worth ya time. Epic riff
That’s 3 guys making that much noise 🤪
Saw them in Athens at the 40 watt club about a two decades ago

They are so heavy. Great choice. I’d love for them to check out some Conan too while they’re at it
God of Thunder - Kiss
Fuck yes 🤘🏻
FUCK, what a great song.
Matt Pike never recorded a bad riff. Need to check Brother In The Wind. They do have a song called 10000 years.
