Anyone who plays an instrument (like me, who plays keyboards) notices the technical quality of Dimash's arrangements: In the part where he harmonized the melody with a funk-jazz arrangement he could use the classic jazz-bebop scale (with the augmented fifth) but, based on the positions of his hands on the keyboard and the sound, we can see that he enhances the music using inverted chords, increases augmented fourths and sevenths and explores variations of the mixolydian mode, these are complex chords that demonstrate what an excellent vocalist, musician, instrumentalist and arranger Dimash is!
I love this version. He and his sister has sung this song before, but in the more traditional style like the beginning. This was for a television show in China a few months ago. He has some of his newer performances on his Instagram that's not on his RUclips channel. Great Reaction Andrea, glad you're back. Fyi, the 2 stringed instrument is called a dombra, traditional Kazakh instrument.
I’ve watched this video many times now (very fun and funky!) and I suspect that the band may be “hidden” behind the lighting… on a few occasions you can spot Dimash leading with his left hand while still playing with the right hand… that leads me to suspect the band is behind.
