+Taylor Reid Still can´t find the right words for how I feel about this all. About Troye´s music, his voice, Blue Neighbourhood... Let me say this makes me feel happy. I love the story. You´re right, Taylor Reid, sometimes everything just ends. Life is not always fair. Our lives are not only about us but also about people around, those we love and need. We want them to love us too. But it doesn´t always work. And we have to learn to handle this. We should be who we really are - we can offer everything we are and let others to decide whether they want to love us or not. The rest is up to them. Let´s learn how to live with failure like this when (or if) it happens. To be refused and denied doesn´t mean the end of our world, thou it hurts. There´s always someone who loves us and wants to cherish us. And we should never give up.
+martinasimon what you have written here is absolutely spot on. I have been in a relationship where me and my girlfriend were together for 9 years and after being together for that long and then one day receiving an invitation in the mail to attend the wedding of who is supposed to be the girl you're in love with, is painful beyond words. But like you said being refused and denied doesn't mean it's the end life goes on and things can only get better and you will find love once again. I believe that everybody has their happily ever after out there.
And in the end he realized suicide wasn’t the answer and he walked away, returning to his true love and they both lived happily ever after and you can’t tell me otherwise.
BeautifulBrittany18 I wish that’s the truth but the reality of the world and it’s harsh opinion about everyone but them selfs can drive people to do tragic things. And I think we should learn from this Bc it’s a very real situation. I feel my self I need to love everyone Bc I don’t know there background
Watching this video again in 2023 brings me back to my formative teenage years, pre coming out, and the effect it had on me, so much deep emotion felt. I know you won’t ever read this, but thank you Troye
Same here, I was 17 when this released, now 26 and relistening to blue neighbourhoods because I fear aging and want to relive my youth and remembering how incredible blue neighbourhoods is, I can see myself listening to this album well into my final years at retirement.
Blue neighborhood was my trilogy during my late teen infant twenty (?) year, I only put a label to myself now that I am thirty (told one of my friends and it feels freeing... I think) but this song always hold something within me. I remember going out on a trip with my friend to visit our other friend's province that time (had a crush on him). We sleep on the same room different bed and I remember encouraging him talk to his girl crush. Those were the times, I mean, I didn't expect anything from him, just that, I know that he is important to me, told him about my feelings at the start of our last year in uni. He was accepting, and I specifically told him that I don't want anything in return, just that, I want to let him know that he is important to me, and that I am looking out for him. he said thanks, which is more than I hope for. Thankfully, we are still friends until now and I am still in their lives.
This three part series put a lot of heavy emotions into my mind. Some parts made me smile, some made me laugh, and others made me almost cry. Being gay in modern society is not easy, unless you're really lucky. This video represents the truest of struggles for gays. It reaches deep into my heart. Thank you for this.
Drako Wulf being gay in modern society is literally the easiest it's ever been. LGBT people have so many rights and are finally treated as normal people (which they are)
+Estevan Arizmendi I've been bullied my whole life for being openly gay, and if I even mention homosexuality to someone they glare at me. So yeah, I really have to disagree.
+Estevan whilst many do have support, those who do have it bad still have it really bad. a lot of people think that just because a majority support LGBT that LGBT people are all treated equally by everyone. obviously this is not true. just because black people have rights doesnt mean that all white people like them. its the same thing, and it can still take and ruin lives.
Does anyone think the true is that Troye died. Because, when Troye showed up at the funeral, none could see him, even his lover. Troye and others in the funeral left the diferrent directions, he came to another tomb (I think it coube be his own tomb). And when Matt's girlfriend saw him hugging Troye, she immediately pulled him out of that place and her face was shocked. Maybe what she saw is Matt is hugging NOTHING? Both Dad and Lover are gone, Matt is alone but he isn't able to be himself, loves the girl he doesn't love at all. That is the very reason why he can't live anymore. Maybe that's the way he could be with Troye forever.
what a cliff hanger, am i right? heyo! but for real, this series was gorgeous and this last part has my heart beating so fast. beautiful and thought provoking work, troye!
for those who are new because coming from bright’s story, try to dig troye sivan deeper. he literally made so many masterpieces through his songs. anyways this video is the third sequel from wild (1) and fools (2) as a blue neighbourhood trilogy. it tells about a forbidden love between two boys until both of them try to blow it away but they can’t. they love each other so much. ❤️
TROYE AFTER I BECOME ALL ATTACHED TO THE CHARACTERS YOU KILL OFF THE BOY HOW COULD YOU DO THIS??? I would be mad at you but the song is really good so i'm only kinda mad >:(
I don't think the song is complicated as people make it out to be. It's interesting to believe Troye is the one that died, but because of the flashbacks during the funeral. It's safe to say it's the fathers funeral. Troye attends out of respect, but leaves midway, because he can't cope with the idea of Matts gf being the one to comfort him. It should be him not the girl. Matt sits there remembering all the good times he has with his father as any normal person would do, but as he's leaving he finds Troye and realizes he's now "free" from his dads enforcement. He practically melts into Troyes arms, but they're interrupted by Matts gf. She looks confused or upset, because before she left she was trying to comfort Matt, but he clearly wanted to be alone, but to see him being vulnerable with Troye it puts up the question of who does he actually love? (The obvious answer is Troye) You can see them bickering, and Matt looking back at Troye as they leave, and Matt is also having flashback of his dads aggressiveness at the same time. Considering the way Matt was mourning for his father. He loves and respects him, so out of that respect he stopped associating himself with Troye. I think it's safe to say as he was leaving he was remembering why he left Troye to begin with, and how its a betrayal to his father to be near him. At the end you see him at a cliff where he clearly takes his own life, because having to choose between his fathers "wish" and being with Troye. He can't choose, so he jumps.
Makes sense but I like to think that him jumping off was a metaphor of how he feels having to leave Troye for the girl. It just can't be right that he would commit suicide. It can't be that literal...
Cristian Togin Ray honestly I think you’re pretty right except for the last part. He jumps but it’s not because he can’t choose. As you see, he’s not with his girlfriend then, meaning he left her to be alone. And yes I think you were right about the dad abusing him. But I think it was representation of him truly accepting himself and letting himself be freed from his father as you said. Like it shows memories, if you will, from his childhood, and shows him and Troye together, and at that last scene, it shows him and troye at the pool. And he’s scared to jump, but troye helps him, and maybe ‘talks him down’ as in talks him out of being afraid. Like convincing him, that it’s gonna he all right. And him jumping when he’s older could be him accepting himself and everything that his dad did to him and life in general really. And he’s letting himself be free and maybe be with troye and accept that that’s who he is. So maybe the memories of them jumping at the same time as him jumping off the cliff symbolizes that he’s gotten over his fears (in this case of his dad and his abuse) and is able to be free (as I repeated a million times lmao). Maybe being with Troye at the end, as accepting himself and the past allowed it. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a sucker for happy endings. I don’t like sad ones but eh. Also that’s just my interpretation I guess you never really know unless Troye explained what he meant for it to mean. But I guess it’s meaning is different to everyone else too, so. But ya I suck at explaining things sorry😂
Heterosexual male here that can love and appreciate Troye for not only his wonderful voice but his understanding of love and portraying that in such an artistic and beautiful way- not even the biggest bigot can deny the beauty of this work.
ramio1983 Heterosexual !!! You are such a sweet guy any one would be lucky to be with an open mind man such as you oh and your looks are Soo Soo dammmm
_im so late for this masterpiece, i just watch the whole 3 parts because taehyun talked about this on their vlive and him saying he cried especially listening to talk me down :(( this so sad yet beautiful a real art_
Oooop the way that I decided to check it out too because of a tweet about Taehyun talking about it💀💀 damn but ofc I don't think I'm doing it just for the sake of my favs it would be nice to discover other stuff as well. Just wanna share
WAIT WAIT WAIT. so you know how the love interest jumps off? And then it goes to young Troye and young boy? Well, what if, when the boy jumped, Troye lost a part of himself? That's why it showed the both of them jumping, because without the boy, Troye feels he's better off dead?
I really like it too. But the lyrics to this particular song kind of confuse me when you parse it next to the video. Part of the lyrics sounds like it would be coming from his ex: come talk me down and can't trust my shadow at 3 AM (suicidality, fear); would rather fuel a fantasy than deal with "this" (his father's passing) alone. Then others seem like it might be coming from either of them: expectations (either of sex or defining the relationship), drawing the line when it gets too real (closet guy afraid to get too close, Troy afraid to get burned); I wanna sleep next to you but that's *all* I want to do (depressed closet guy might sleep a lot and have low sex drive, conversely Troy could feel used and like there's expectations of sex when he just wants to comfort him). The video would suggest that Troy was willing to be there but the other dude was too worried about keeping up appearances, but also the opposite because the title is "Talk me Down" and the other guy obviously committed suicide and thus was not talked down.
Who’s still watching this until now 2019 and still cries 😭. Edit: It's already 2021 and I just wanted to let you know to everyone whoever sees this comment I hope you're doing well. Thank you for living! Stay safe always, wear your masks and God Bless you all ❤
I hate you Troyes Sivan for ending the video like that… but I am also terribly proud of you for you first ever album and thus song is just so beautiful and heartbreaking
Lyrics~ I wanna sleep next to you But that's all I wanna do right now And I wanna come home to you But home is just a room full of my safest sounds 'Cause you know that I can't trust myself with my 3:00 a.m. shadow I'd rather fuel a fantasy then deal with this alone I wanna sleep next to you But that's all I wanna do right now So come over now And talk me down I wanna hold hands with you But that's all I wanna do right now And I wanna get close to you 'Cause your hands and lips still know their way around, ooh And I know I like to draw that line when it starts to get too real But the less time that I spend with you, the less you need to heal I wanna sleep next to you But that's all I wanna do right now So come over now and talk me down So if you don't mind, I'll walk that line Stuck on the bridge between us Gray areas and expectations But I'm not the one if we're honest, yeah But I wanna sleep next to you And I wanna come home to you I wanna hold hands with you I wanna be close to you But I wanna sleep next to you And that's all I wanna do right now And I wanna come home to you But home is just a room full of my safest sounds So come over now And talk me down..
honestly this is the saddest trilogy, the wife/girlfriend handles the guy so roughly like his dad did and its so upsetting because he basically moves from one abusive person to another. i loved the reunion hug between troye and his "ex" because its so heartfelt and genuine. i really wish this ended happily for them, but sometimes in life there aren't happy endings. (wait what if there was a 4/3 with the song heaven or something)
Isn't it crazy though that things like that actually happen, people who are abused by people they look up to seem to find another abusive person after they lose the other. It's like they gravitate towards that.
Ева Яшаева No. I really mean: "has an eye on my tear. It is a phrase we use here in Brazil. There are so many tears in our eye that we invert the expression
I swear I have not cried this hard in years. I never even shed a tear with most movies, no matter how sad they may be. But THIS EVIL TRILOGY! I sobbed from the beginning till the end. It’s so powerful and symbolic however, with a beautiful meaning behind it that is very rarely portrayed in pop culture. The “forbidden gay love” topic is in that is rarely covered in things like this, and I have to say this is one of the very best gay anything’s I’ve ever seen. Thank you Troye, we gays are forever in your debt🙏🏻
+nssiev U-U It's a mix of Australian and South African, it makes me so proud to finally see someone who was born in SA make it big. I absolutely adore his accent.
I'm studying to be a video production major and I'm watching really closely to how this whole trilogy was filmed and I'm absolutely blown away. I love how this video in particular was captured. You could feel so much emotion with the setting, color, music, and story. I love the song as well and you did an amazing job expressing it in this video. Well done Troye! This is beautiful!!
Back here after seeing Troye Sivan live for the first time last night during the Sweat tour...even though he did not perform any of the Blue Neighbourhood songs, it was incredible to see him live after being a fan for so many years! I will never stop loving the cinematic masterpiece that makes up these three music videos.
@EllaSchindler did you have a great time at the Sweat tour what songs did he sing. I wanted to see him live but tickets were too expensive. I love Troye so much. Blue Neighbourhood is my favorite album by him
@@lauracorbett4577 It was an amazing concert -- him and Charli XCX did a great job switching off and working together throughout the show. He sang a lot of songs, but mostly the ones from his new album! The only older songs that he sang were My, My, My and Bloom. I was hoping for a Blue Neighbourhood song, but unfortunately he didn't perform those ones. It was still a lot of fun anyway, though!
The way he pulled away from Troye when the girl showed up... it reminded me of someone who was still uncomfortable with their sexuality being caught in an intimate postion and immediately pushing away in order to keep up that guise of "normality". I think the sad truth is that not everyone can overcome internalized or external homophobia. And the saddest part about this, in my opinion, is that even with his dad gone, the guy still reluctantly values his father's opinion. He loved Troye, but there has to be some guilt and shame shadowing that feeling. A part of him saying, this is wrong and my father would be ashamed of me. That kind of thing isn't so easily forgotten by a child who most likely respects and looks up to their parent. It really hurts my heart. The sense of inadequacy and conflict he must've felt, loving someone but still plagued by guilt and someone else's disappointment... ugh. And if we want to get symbolic, the father can represent society as a whole. Because even now, with the rise in awareness and openess, there is a large number of those who don't approve. And while it's great to think that everyone can say, "Eff you, I'm unapologetically me," that's not the reality of it at all. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts :) xoxoxo
Your comment reminded of the movie lost and delirious a lesbian movie. The character Tori was caught sleeping next to her "friend" both naked ofc by Tori's sister and friends. They were shocked obviously and Tori was really uncomfortable saying "that's not what it looks like". Later on , she clarified to her sister saying quote "I'm not gay" (it seemed defensive like she was definitely not ready to come out) and she blamed it on her "friend" saying that she has a crush on her

I miss this version of Troye Sivan. I wish he would get back to this, I listened to this whole album repeatedly when I came out. It kinda helped get me through while I lost friends, and family members. This album had a meaning
oh man, the message in these videos is so powerful, gave me goosebumps and made me all teary eyed. the sad fact is that things like this have happened and still are happening, i really hope that someday what these videos are about won't be so real
marisa lynn it’s true, life hasn’t really changed these years, there are still bully’s,still killings and war, still suicide and racist and gay bulling and more horrible stuff that hasn’t proved anything has changed
yeah talk me down the cliff of despair and heart break because i am cutting onions and tears are not streaming down my face GOD TROYE WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME CRY EVERY TIME I PURPOSLEY WATCH THESE VIDEOS TO FEEL EMOTIONS BECAUSE I AM A LIFELESS POTATO WHO IS ACTUALLY EMO SO I ACTUALLY DO FEEL EMOTIONS BUT OH WELL bye
Exactly..😢 Because of the fact that his father passed away, he probably feels torn between accepting who he really is verses respecting the wishes (or rather forceful manipulation) that his father had of him not being gay. Ugh I can't even right now just stop. Troye and his team are geniuses for coming up with such an amazing portrayal of a story like this along with brilliant fucking music.
I'm doing the same. It's so sad...I know it's just a video but it breaks my heart. They should just be happy together and, god, there come the tears again
I'm not the biggest fan of Troye Sivan's work, but from what I've heard of the rest of his music, Blue Neighborhood is arguably his best and most important work, from the music to the story these videos tell. I think it's a universal thing as gay men that we have this idealized fantasy of growing up with a best friend you can fall in love with, vs. the harsh realities of the world. Your friend denying his nature for the sake of appearances is just one example, and I love that the story of Blue Neighborhood as a whole is so heavily reliant on imagery. I hope he continues making this sort of stuff and realizes how important this collection was.
I GET IT I GET IT The blue neighbourhood could mean the actual neighbourhood he's living in is blue (sad), or the state of mind where "everything is sad", and in WILD, 'leave this blue neighbourhood' means he's fleeing from the reality where it is sad, and living in a place where he can fall in love and go "wild", even when he knew it's not safe, leading him to say 'it's been too long since im a fool', which means he's so euphoric that he doesn't care, or think of the consequences, leading to FOOLS, where al the realizations shit happens and BAMMZ. He realized 'only fools fall', and he was a fool. Now, laced with regret, he wanted to change the past, but the past changed him, as the father and son shooed him away, When he saw the boy with the girl, the regret transformed to jealously, and the fool became the girl, because Troye knew he was the only one who would love the boy as much as he did, and he, too was a fool (for many things obviously. troye was a gigantic fool and this is messed up.). Then he did a commercial for the HP comp, which serves kinda like a teaser. TALK ME DOWN is also filled with regret, but the facts were clear he couldn't do all the things he wanted to do with him, but he couldn't because the boy was so different already, and his past was still haunting him, so he let him go. The boy escapes Tyoye's love, and it ends with the sea, because it is blue, everchanging, and endless, just like Troye's love for the boy. and of course there's obviously the storyline, and the song storyline but HEY.
***** yes but in THIS storyline, he lives in this neighbourhood. who will name a neighbourhood "blue neighbourhood"? he probably made it up because the storyline neighbourhood he lives in is sad. idk. i was just ranting lol
I'm crafting. When they hugged I thought there was going to be a happy ending where they are back together and live happily ever after. I thought the boy was going to die when I saw the preview at the end of part two, and when I started this video I was so happy he was still alive. There's a waterfall in my eyes!
troye and his friend have been best friends since they were little, and always felt some sort of connection that was more than friends. they didn't pay attention to it because they were too little to understand, so the story moves on. they grow older and become teenagers, and they understand that they have a crush on each other. the chemistry between them grows, and they eventually kiss and (possibly) have sex. the father of the other boy catches them kissing and, since he is a homophobe, beats his son and tells troye to stay away from his son forever. the boys are drawn apart and troye is walking down the street and sees his friend holding hands and walking with a girl. this obviously confuses troye and he is upset, so he goes to see him. the father sees him talking to his son and keeps a close eye on them, as his son pushes troye away and yells at him. the boy goes back to his dad and reassures him that troye won't come back and that he yelled at him to stay away. now, in this video, the boy's father dies from what is most likely his alcohol addiction (he is shown drinking VERY often). the boy is sad about his father's death and everyone shows up at the funeral, including troye. troye can't stand the memories of everything that happened so he walks away and sits on stairs that lead out of the graveyard. the boy who's father died is naturally sad, but he also realizes that this is his chance to be with troye. he hugs troye and they hold on to each other, because they have pushed each other away the past few years. they are finally reconnecting and then the boy's "girlfriend" sees them hugging and drags the boy away from troye. the boy is so distraught over his memories, his father, and the feeling that he will never be accepted nor with troye leads him to stand on the edge of a cliff and look out at the ocean where he used to go swimming with troye as a kid. he closes his eyes and jumps off the cliff, ending his life. that is the end. there ya go. **A great point made by SuperBlablablaxxx: To add on to this, the father's death actually held more value to both Troye and the other boy. In part 1 they played golf and stuff, and then ran off into the woods and the waters... Without his father there, they would never have met each other and became best friends and then lovers. So although his father was homophobic, I think both boys still felt for him on a more personal level when he died. The girl can't really comfort him as well as Troye clearly did. And I think that's really sweet... Such true love. If only his dad could understand that Troye is the one that makes him feel happy and not the girl. Gender honestly doesn't even need to play any role in who people decide to love, and Blue Neighborhood really shows that. Love is love
The Blue neighbourhood series hold so much meaning for me and the songs are really beautiful. Thank you Troye Sivan! Now i'll go cry in the corner cause of the heartbreak.
WE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SEE THE JUMP, RIGHT? SO MAybe if enough people pretend that after the shot of the ocean, it ends with Troye running over to talk him out (or rather, 'Talks Him Down', amirite?) of jumping and they finally have a happy ending together, it will actually become true and just be the acknowledged ending. Right? _Right?_
He didn't jump, he turns around and Troye is standing there with a stick of cotton candy, a bunny and some balloons and they live happily ever after THE END
The phrase "Talk Me Down" is an English term that means talking to someone to help them not jump off of a high place. So maybe Troye and the love interest jumped off the cliff in different respects. In "Wild" the two boys were playing to get her and they developed a bond with each other and as they grew up that bond grew into romanticism. During "Fools" the two boys are basically a couple but get broken up by the love interest's father who is a homophobe. When the father dies, Troye is hopeful that maybe he and the love interest can be together "I wanna sleep next to you. I wanna hold hands with you. I wanna be close to you" he wishes for all these things. When the love interest finds Troye and they see each other they hug because they are finally able to be who they are without the harsh judgement of the father. In this moment the love interest temporarily forgets about the girl. When the girl shows up, the love interest leaves Troye because he wants to be accepted but he knows that..
He really loves Troye. When the love interest realizes that he won't be accepted for who he is, he jumps off the cliff and commits suicide. When we see Troye at the funeral, we are seeing Troye at his love interest's funeral. Troye ends up leaving half way through because it's too hard for him to notice that he no longer can sleep next to him or hold hands with him. In the end Troye says to "Talk Me Down" because his feelings are still up on that cliff where the boy jumped off of. When we see the two children jump off the dock we are seeing the love interest's death and the death of Troye's feelings and his heart.
I'm just going to believe this now. Even if Troye himself says otherwise, this will be the truth to me. Thank you. You should become a writer. Your version of the story is beautiful.
Omg this makes so much sense. That's why when the focus was on the love interest there were flashbacks of him with his father and when the focus was on Troye there were flashbacks of him with the love interest, because they were both remembering the best moments they had with their beloved ones, who died.
He's so underrated !

@@Sweebilli yes he continues to live in my heart since past 14 years ❤
Do you know the name of the other boy?
As much as I'd love a part 4, I think the whole point is that there aren't always happy endings. Sometimes everything just ends and it sucks.
American culture vs. Real Life

Well... actually if you watch Eyewitness (a series) you will think about this song, even the plot it's similar
Diana Musat in how far is it the same plot? In eyewithness the parents support their relationship and none of them wants to commit suicide! 😅
probably in wattpad.
Aww
Drako Wulf being gay in modern society is literally the easiest it's ever been. LGBT people have so many rights and are finally treated as normal people (which they are)
+Estevan Arizmendi
I've been bullied my whole life for being openly gay, and if I even mention homosexuality to someone they glare at me.
+CHICKEN PERMISSION
Very much agreed.
Maybe that's the way he could be with Troye forever.
this is some mindblowing realization. Damn.
A+
Thanks hope that the way story ended.
Maybe he's hugging his graveeee???
Wow!!!!!

for those who are new because coming from bright’s story, try to dig troye sivan deeper. he literally made so many masterpieces through his songs.
anyways this video is the third sequel from wild (1) and fools (2) as a blue neighbourhood trilogy. it tells about a forbidden love between two boys until both of them try to blow it away but they can’t. they love each other so much. ❤️
I am discovering a lot of great songs because of Bright, love his taste in music. loving Troye Sivan's music. Thanks to Bright

I am gay and I cry a lot whenever watching this. I have boyfriend now thanks to Troye who encourage my true orientation.
Yes you right but i am
N.O.
J.U.S.T.
N.O.
His name is not Matt it is Jacob
Jacob Bixenman is Troyes Bf
I'm not crying, just i have a Blue Neighbourhood Part 3/3 in my eye.

WAIT WAIT WAIT. so you know how the love interest jumps off? And then it goes to young Troye and young boy? Well, what if, when the boy jumped, Troye lost a part of himself? That's why it showed the both of them jumping, because without the boy, Troye feels he's better off dead?
STOP YOU'RE MAKING IT HURT MORE

5 years later and i’m still here. this trilogy hits me do hard. i cry everytime! a masterpiece
I willl not be complete until i see part 4/3 like literally Troye i am crying and dying honestly just please make another i am so sad and omg srsly

Lyrics~
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna come home to you
But home is just a room full of my safest sounds
'Cause you know that I can't trust myself with my 3:00 a.m. shadow
I'd rather fuel a fantasy then deal with this alone
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
So come over now
And talk me down
I wanna hold hands with you
But that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna get close to you
'Cause your hands and lips still know their way around, ooh
And I know I like to draw that line when it starts to get too real
But the less time that I spend with you, the less you need to heal
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
So come over now and talk me down
So if you don't mind, I'll walk that line
Stuck on the bridge between us
Gray areas and expectations
But I'm not the one if we're honest, yeah
But I wanna sleep next to you
And I wanna come home to you
I wanna hold hands with you
I wanna be close to you
But I wanna sleep next to you
And that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna come home to you
But home is just a room full of my safest sounds
So come over now
And talk me down..
Thank you so much!

honestly this is the saddest trilogy, the wife/girlfriend handles the guy so roughly like his dad did and its so upsetting because he basically moves from one abusive person to another. i loved the reunion hug between troye and his "ex" because its so heartfelt and genuine. i really wish this ended happily for them, but sometimes in life there aren't happy endings. (wait what if there was a 4/3 with the song heaven or something)
yess
Isn't it crazy though that things like that actually happen, people who are abused by people they look up to seem to find another abusive person after they lose the other. It's like they gravitate towards that.
yesss pls
+alexandra alvarado yeah because they start to think it's normal and they get used to it so they just find what's familiar

A very reasonable analysis, it's exactly what I took from the video as well!
Your comment reminded of the movie lost and delirious a lesbian movie. The character Tori was caught sleeping next to her "friend" both naked ofc by Tori's sister and friends. They were shocked obviously and Tori was really uncomfortable saying "that's not what it looks like". Later on , she clarified to her sister saying quote "I'm not gay" (it seemed defensive like she was definitely not ready to come out) and she blamed it on her "friend" saying that she has a crush on her
Honestly this hits really hard and close to home , ive been going through something really similar
Bro you made it clear
@@manojkumar.m4649 - I was on the dame cliff in 1974. The rifle butt was on my truck's floorboard, with the barrel in my mouth, and my finger on the trigger. Thank God I stepped back from the edge of infinity. I had just argued with my two closest friends and fled the house in pain and tears. The reason I did not pull the trigger is that, at the last moment before squeezing the trigger I thought that if I shot myself my two buddies (both straight) would blame themselves for my suicide. That was not the reason I wanted to kill myself but the arguments we had was, that day, the last straw.
I'm gay and wasn't [yet] out to my family and friends; I was afraid that I would lose EVERYONE if I came out. My fears proved completely wrong. When I came out not One.Single.Person left my side. Yes, I'm very lucky. And I've enjoyed my life for the 46 years I have lived since my aborted suicide.
Please. Please seek help if you descend into notions of suicide. Pain can be overwhelming and can so obscure your judgement that, if not quickly arrested, you could reason that the most certain way fully to quash the pain is to kill yourself. Resources are available - get your phone out of your pocket and reach out. You are NOT expendable, damaged goods, beyond redemption, worthless, of no consequence. Come on - you're a human being, the most valuable thing on the planet, and as such you have intrinsic worth. Use your brain to save yourself: get away from bad influences as fast as you can. If you have to just sit there and take the BS until you're old enough to get away, do it - keeping in mind that you have a plan and for that reason you can endure the pain - only for a little while longer.
I apologize for the length of this comment. Just take care of YOURSELF. Your worth is so much more than you know right now. Come in off the ledge. Please
Troye'd better break the laws of mathematics and bring us Blue Neighbourhood Part 4/3 because it can't end like this!

I cried so hard 😂😭
ACTUALLY SAME
Idk if Troye reads the comments or not...but his songs have helped countless ppl
So thank you Troye, for being who you are n helping us.
even with the "obstacle" removed, he still couldn't accept himself.
IM CRYINGGGG Y U DO DIS
💔
Because the girl is the new "obstacle" :(
Exactly..😢 Because of the fact that his father passed away, he probably feels torn between accepting who he really is verses respecting the wishes (or rather forceful manipulation) that his father had of him not being gay. Ugh I can't even right now just stop. Troye and his team are geniuses for coming up with such an amazing portrayal of a story like this along with brilliant fucking music.
+Kitty C we need one more funeral

I GET IT I GET IT
The blue neighbourhood could mean the actual neighbourhood he's living in is blue (sad), or the state of mind where "everything is sad", and in WILD, 'leave this blue neighbourhood' means he's fleeing from the reality where it is sad, and living in a place where he can fall in love and go "wild", even when he knew it's not safe, leading him to say 'it's been too long since im a fool', which means he's so euphoric that he doesn't care, or think of the consequences, leading to FOOLS, where al the realizations shit happens and BAMMZ.
PREACHHH
***** yes but in THIS storyline, he lives in this neighbourhood. who will name a neighbourhood "blue neighbourhood"? he probably made it up because the storyline neighbourhood he lives in is sad. idk. i was just ranting lol
I agree with you and your profile pic is great 💜
or maybe we're all just overthinking everything.
Congrats you've solved the obvious, do you want a medal or something?

**A great point made by SuperBlablablaxxx:
To add on to this, the father's death actually held more value to both Troye and the other boy. Love is love
omg we were all waiting for this because we're drunkies who can't understand shit thank you

***** wtf
Omg yes
WE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SEE THE JUMP, RIGHT? SO MAybe if enough people pretend that after the shot of the ocean, it ends with Troye running over to talk him out (or rather, 'Talks Him Down', amirite?) of jumping and they finally have a happy ending together, it will actually become true and just be the acknowledged ending. Right? _Right?_
omg i wish...

My heart can't take it that he died at the end,so I like to think that he survived the jump and that him and Troye stayed together forever. ^-^
Same! I can't take it!
yayy
well it doesnt show him jumping so i choose to believe it never happened
Hopefully
He didn't jump, he turns around and Troye is standing there with a stick of cotton candy, a bunny and some balloons and they live happily ever after THE END
every time I´m watching that, I´m crying harder, it´s so real and it´s hurt so much. For me it is importent to process it, TY Troye
When we see the two children jump off the dock we are seeing the love interest's death and the death of Troye's feelings and his heart.
best explanation ive seen so far
I'm just going to believe this now. Even if Troye himself says otherwise, this will be the truth to me. Thank you. You should become a writer. Your version of the story is beautiful.
Omg this makes so much sense. That's why when the focus was on the love interest there were flashbacks of him with his father and when the focus was on Troye there were flashbacks of him with the love interest, because they were both remembering the best moments they had with their beloved ones, who died.
+Amanda Rose no.... TROYE was at the guy's dad's funeral. He left because he couldn't see his lover hold hands with the blonde girl.
Wtf, why doesn't this have 7 billion views?!?! This is amazing!😭😭😭

My early Christmas present to me - rewatching Blue Neighborhood while drinking a Tanqueray over ice and remembering someone from nine years ago.
