I didn't think it was possible to perform this live... it's just off beat on beat talking...lol.. I can't stop chuckling... its such catchy fun and yet meaningful. I feel like someone came up to him trying to be flashy and he was just like "너네 자랑하고 싶은 거 있으면....) 😂😂
This was CKH’s return after 3-1/2 yrs. In 2019, he moved from Seoul to Paju. He’s back with a solo album “Levitation”. In keeping with CKH, his You Tube “Levitation” videos are oriented 90 degrees from convention. The 5 songs don’t have a bass line. He pre-released a song 2022/02/22 which YHY says is the most unique song in KPop history. CKH said it’s the most advanced song he’s ever written. His album was planned to be released on that date. CKH has always been interested in turning words into songs. He pretended to be talking to someone, saved the file then separately worked on the beat. When combined, it worked. He composed the song in a day. The song which took the longest to compose was the title track. Seeing the lyrics on paper gave others the sense of being hypnotized. The same sentence is repeated over 6 mins. It includes the voice of Lee Jaram, a pansori singer. She had sent him a CD of hers while he was in the military. He would listen to it, appreciating the musicality of the Korean language. “Envy None” is his version of hip hop. Hip hop artist brag, and he feels the best dealt hand is to brag about not envying what others brag about. The rap has been described as taryeong or a narrating rap. Sketchbook prepared the gift of levitating CGH. When CGH went solo, he worried about being forgotten. He said that Sketchbook is like his hometown. It was fun how CGH carried the microphone while being levitated. In “Wild Childs at Rooftop”, CGH related that it took awhile for him to write solo instead of for a band. Although CKH wrote “Envy None”, he would still be envious if his friends had a number 1 song. CKH played “Envy None” for Lee Juck who laughed in approval. He was asked about being called “Korea’s Best Rapper” and CKH responded that he has his own flow, and the title is kind of a joke among his followers. Someone commented that they couldn’t accept a song as music and CKH felt a little proud of the controversy. Did he make something on the edge of a genre? The official video starts with hand movements and then body movements which were filmed while listening to another song he likes. During the “I’m not jealous”, your eyes are fixed on CKH. If you have something to brag about, go ahead, It’s ok because I’m not jealous, I don’t envy a thing, If you have something to brag about, go ahead, It’s ok because I’m not jealous, I’m not jealous at all, Who do you think has more? You or me? I don’t know, but just once, Let’s put our heads together and think, Am I happy because of you? Or am I happy because I have more than you? No, some people in the world have tons of money, That’s who I’m jealous of It’s annoying If you have something to brag about, go ahead…I think this is the end of the song (found a more detailed translation on you tube search) The subs continued Isn’t this drunk rambling? Have some rice wine What has he been saying to himself? Just to have a drink of rice wine. They mentioned that a song for Euni would be “You Just Have to Stay Put But You Keep Trying to Do Something” which is something he reminds himself to do. This is the title track which repeats that sentence for 6 mins. They mentioned Lee Juck answered 7 of 10 questions correctly and high hopes for CKH who reads a lot. Both are graduates of SNU’s Sociology Department. “Let Me Grab You by the Collar” was written by imagining angry people on the subway. I don’t know who you are but things have gone wrong for me because of you. Let me grab you by the collar. “What’s the Point of Climbing a Mountain?” His mother doesn’t like climbing up to just come down. Somehow that inspired him to write, I’ll be lonely so if no one… let’s not date. Be by my side from the start. He usually writes the first sentence which becomes the title. CKH is proudest of writing “Living the Carefree life”. Many people have told him how the song influenced their feelings. “ABC” is acrostic. “A”I’m on my way out, “B” but remember me, “C” Can’t give your love to someone else so fast. After he was 20, CKH starting listening to older music, Sanullim, Songolmae, Song Changsik because they used Korean music in diverse ways. He has a lot of favorites including “Laid Out Silk in My Heart”. In the beginning, he emulated others’ pronunciation including Choi Yangrak for “A Sort of Relationship”. Over 20 yrs ago, CKH was in the top 10% tier, probably the top 1% getting an early admission into SNU. He scored 388 out of 400 in the CSAT, getting perhaps 5 incorrect answers. CKH has not been to SNU alumni gatherings. He was the valedictorian of one school in liberal arts which had 2 classes. When younger, doing well in school was a means to his goal. CKH is apparently a “good” drinker along with Sung Sikyung, Junjin. He drinks, turns on his fav music and dances. He loves old school jokes. While in the Korean Air Force, he was within the U.S. Air Force in operations and translation. Being in the military was confining from which he started to make music including “Cheap Coffee”. He had been overweight then lost about 15 kg in the military by eating 3 meals without snacks from the BX. CGH’s ramen: raw egg on rice, dips the noodles in and then when there’s a little left, adds a drop of soy sauce. He says that eating food is his hobby and tries new things like different gimbap with Americano. CKH wrote a book of essays called “Doesn’t It Not Matter?” He thinks envy is the least thing that matters. CKH tries not to but pays attention to 👍. The hosts commented that he is a man of contradictions.
