      I left a similar comment as well. It was very upsetting to see them standing around -when I was doing it.,One of my fellow medics would’ve been jumping out the door taking over the police position and they would’ve been stabilized then put in the rig and gone. It’s like they didn’t even even know what to do or what they were doing.

      I don't agree with you as far as letting the children see what happened. Let them see what happens when something like this happens. Let them see what happens if they join a gang. All this bullshit over "turf" is stupid. You're going to actually get mad and possibly get shot because someone from another hood is walking down the street???? How stupid can a person be.

      It depends on the age of the child. 1) Keep their innocence as long as possible! 2) Just seeing blood could traumatize a child. 3) You never know what’s going to stick with a child for life. 4) There are so many things you just can’t unsee.

    • @Wyomingchief
      @Wyomingchief 17 дней назад +6

      Tell me how many years experience have you been in EMS? Cuz I've got nearly three decades working as a paramedic, and This Crew did absolutely nothing wrong. Patient number one was obviously conscious and the deputies had probably relayed to the crew that he was conscious alert and so they knew it wasn't critical. Just because there's a lot of blood doesn't mean somebody's on the verge of death. A lot of times in domestics their tend to be very severe facial or scalp injuries that bleed and look way worse than they actually are.
      That crew was very professional and very calm and we're doing what needed to be done in a very calm manner. Which is exactly what you want to do in a case like this you don't want to raise the level of tension.
      And from all appearances the second patient wasn't even injured, I would venture to say the blood was all from the first person. Which is why they were just getting vitals and double-checking on her. Don't believe what bystander say just because they think it's critical does not mean it is

    • @jenx5870
      @jenx5870 9 дней назад

      I'm not a paramedic, but I have been an RN for 28 yrs. Chances are, if a person is so gravely ill/injured that they died on scene, then they would die en route to the hospital. The paramedics have to stabilize someone before they can get them into the ambulance by stopping any major blood loss, starting a line of IV fluids to replace any lost to prevent them dying from shock, and possibly hook them up to an AED to prevent a dangerous arrhythmia from stopping their heart. All of these things can seem like they are taking up a lot of time, but time seems to go more slowly when you are in a hurry. If they don't first stabilize them, then they are loading a severely bleeding and still dying patient onto the ambulance. They wasted precious minutes loading them onto a gurney and into the back, plus now they have to do all of the aforementioned things, when they could have just been doing them all along. I don't know about you, but I would prefer they slow my loved one's bleeding or get their heart back into a normal sinus rhythm before they begin driving them to the hospital, rather than just hastily throwing them on a cot and hoping for the best as they rush out the door towards the ambulance.
