    Canoe Sprint Kayak Single (K1) 1000m Men Finals. Full Replay from the Eton Dorney at the London 2012 Olympic Games, 8 August 2012.
    In 1924 in Paris, flatwater canoeing featured at the Games as a demonstration sport. Canoe and kayak racing became full medal sports at the 1936 Berlin Games. However events were initially limited to canoe sprint until canoe slalom made its debut at the 1972 Munich Games. Slalom racing was not competed again in the Olympic Games until the 1992 Barcelona Games.

    Wonderful to hear the mellifluous voice of Mr Andrew Cotter, he of Olive and Mabel fame of late. So smooth, so on point. Wonderful knowledge of this sport, spot-on timing as an announcer.

    Jack Bissett: these guys skip leg workout? These guys run regurarly Cooper test (12 min run), between 3200m- 3800m. They run faster than 99% of the population. But maybe you know more than someone involved in kayaking for decades.

      +Csaba Ivanics: I agree, I did this sport from 8 to 17. At age 17 I had 3350m on Cooper.

    rowing is better , because it involves legs very well .

    • @hosseinkarimi2676
      @hosseinkarimi2676 7 лет назад

      I didnt say cone is bad nor did i said it doesnt involve legs !
      I jus said it ( rowing ) has a better use of legs , and its something obvious which I dont see any necessity to discuss
      about it .
      canoe is better in sense of controlling the boats direction .

      I disagree kayaking is mainly using the legs auctully

      Always an idiot attempts to comment. This is its own sport with its own physical demands, which involves a significant leg drive if you watch even a little bit. Astonishing how much leg and torso power they bring to the sprint. Exciting! 😊😊
