One of Tatiana's favorite artist is also Bob Marley which is why I would like for you to react to Judgement and Punishment One take vocal
Or even the original music video. They’re both good
Yes
Got to do a double feature of this song. Official video first, then one take vocal performance
_"Your idols scream to me throwing shame on my face_
_As I turn away from infamy and disgrace_
_I smile to you, cuz I want you to see_
_How I break the rules in front of your trinity"_
This is what Tatiana is smiling at, not the audience. ; )
Yeah...not blindly taking information from authority is part of it...but it IS also a fuck you to establishment religious structures.
Great analysis of the role of the guys. Roman on guitars often gets forgotten, but he is incredibly key to their sound by virtue of being a seemingly endless fount of riffs. Vlad and Eugene really stand out by their sheer excellence on drums and bass. The guys create the music first, Eugene says different songs evolve differently. Some are written mostly by one of the guys, while others emerge from the three of them jamming. Then they hand off demo recordings to Tatiana and she finds inspiration for the lyrics and weaves her vocal composition into the song. You aren't kidding about the palm of the hand thing. On stage, Tatiana is utterly mesmerizing. They've had a couple of tours in North America as an opening act, and one tour headlining. They were supposed to be back to the U.S. this spring, but of course that got scrubbed. They definitely will be back when or if things get back to normal. They are still an up-and-coming band so it is mostly small venues. The two times I saw them were last year at 400 and 800 capacity venues, but someone on YT reviewed a show at a 150 person venue. They were trending a bit larger in the planned tour this spring but still very intimate clubs. Looking forward to Perennial at Wacken. Well worth watching the live version of Teacher Teacher for fun, it isn't one where the live performance overshadows the official video as is the case with ones like Perennial and Pit Of Consciousness. Both of those have excellent official videos though, so you could legitimately do both or a double-feature. About the only one where I'm really not a fan of the official video is On The Top which is actually pretty good but weird enough that people get stuck trying to interpret the video instead of listening to the song, while the live in Kiev video is fire. Cheers!
Ahh here you are, i almost thought you had missed one. :)
They have at least half a dozen songs that have both an outstanding official video and live counterpart. Many reactors have reacted to the ones that are that good as a double feature reaction.
Judgment and punishment has 3 versions. An official video, live in Melbourne and her vocal one take. You can't go wrong picking any two of those three for a double feature.
They’ve been to the states which is where I saw them and met them (in SC). They were so nice and kind. (And Tati hugged me.) Thrilled to catch you on your Jinjer journey so early on. Can’t wait to see the Unleash the Archers reaction too!
Ok I am jealous. When I first discovered then in 2018, I'm from NUC and they were playing nearby in NJ in about two weeks. I wanted to pay extra to meet them but it was too soon. I couldn't even afford the regular tix much less the meet up tix. 😢
They are super chill and nice in person. Was so glad to get a chance to meet them and actually have a conversation.
Jen I totally agree. I saw them in Toronto, I got the backstage meet and greet pass and I'm so glad I did. They are Legit amazing people.
Watch Roman on youtube do a guitar playthrough of Pit of Consciousness.
I have been playing guituar for over 30 years and have always been partial to the shredders, but Roman has total changed my perspective on playing and writing music. His combination of aggressive picking and chording is inspiring. The way it all blends together with the rest of the band is amazing.
THIS! ^^
Roman may not "shine" on stage but he's brighter than the sun in those playthroughs. : )
Roman is not the 'take center stage' kinda guy, but make no mistake he is an absolute BEAST on the guitar.
"Hey teacher! Leave them kids alone!" Pink Floyd. Yea, every time I hear this, i think of Pink Floyd Another Brick in the Wall
Pit of Consciousness OFFICIAL. The live is awesome as well.
You’re just scratching the surface with what they can do but you are definitely getting it.Pit of Consciousness live Kiev a home performance and Retrospection OMV or Melbourne for the live which I recommend thanks man appreciate your work
finally a reactor who sees through the religion metaphor and understands what Tatiana is trying to convey in the lyrics. I love your reactions dude keep it up :)
Judgement and punishment live at Melbourne give it a shot
Thanks for the shout out. Glad you liked this one and Perennial. Top notch musicianship. You might be ready for sit stay roll over which is one of my favorites. Otherwise Judgement and punishment with the one take vocal performance is where you can see just how amazingly talented and unique Tatiana really is. She might be one of the most talented people on the planet.
As far as I read this song bears some reality to her - and it's not a teacher but a religious thing - catholic school - u can pretty much hear it here -
she grabbed my hand, took me in, placed me in front of a class
She gave a hint I was the clou of her mass
I’m in the middle of her Holy of Holies, I have no worries!
I saw dusty icons on the walls
I saw needles and stones
So she put a paper bag on my head
She pointed finger at me, and then she said:
Dear Lord, forgive me as I’m slapping this sinful child
By your hand I’m led so I will show what is wrong and what is right
Choose your label cuz I’m mercy, merciful
Put your knuckles on the table, meet my friend Ferule
This life is not a prison, and you are not a warden (c)
mark tremonti is an insane guitarist, love these reviews on jinjer
I love how you describe the ending, golf shoe and all...
Another band out of the Ukraine that you might enjoy, is Igna. Check out their three songs Alga, Seytanu Akbar, and Disenchantment.
Oh yeah I saw Jinjer live in a club in Phoenix pre-pandemic. They where going to come again to an outdoor place, and then the F'n Covid.
It was a great show despite the venues short comings. I'd see them again in a heart beat.
I saw them live a little over a year ago. I made sure to stand on the right side, in front of Eugene the bass player. I love to watch him play despite being a guitar player myself. The drummer is also amazing, the whole band is really really tight. The drummer, the guitarist, the bassman and Tatiana of course. I enjoy your appreciation of the musicians.
You haven’t heard all of what they can do yet. I don’t have a song that I turn when they come on my Spotify. Every song that Jinjer has done I can listen to everytime. Perennial, Judgement and Punishment, I speak Astronomy and the list goes on. Every song is top tier. Then not mention many other bands I have been introduced to since listening to Jinjer at the end of last yr. They have become one of my all time favorite bands.
Spiritbox - Rule Of Nines
Or the Mara Effect parts 1-3 😎🤘🔥
Most anything Spiritbox is just amazing, their last single could have been a wee bit longer lol, at like, 2 minutes or something, but everything they put out is tight as fuck. Just saw a few weeks back they signed with a reasonable size label too so I can avoid having to stick all my 5 song EPs together into Playlist and have an actual full album lol
Jinjer only has 4 songs with guitar solos and they are all old songs from when they had 5 members. Since dropping to 4 members they decided that guitar solos didn't really fit their style and they haven't done one since. (Except when playing old songs live, of course.) If you want to hear a song where Roman does some fast and intricate guitar work, plus a solo I would recommend A Plus or a Minus. There is no official live or music video, but there is a lyric video. On Jinjer's youtube page ( Jinjer Metal Band) Roman did a guitar playthrough of the song, I would recommend watching that too -possibly an idea for a double feature. Their style has changed a lot over the years, this song is very reminiscent of old school thrash metal, I think you will like it.
Jinjer is like KoRn but only in the sense that she doesnt care about traditional progressions. She does what she wants when she wants to based off of their influences which only sets them apart even more. Gotta love it
I look at your face and you are happy, like a child )) Nice to see that you enjoy it.
I've got three years in you brother, but I'm in the same place. Discovering these amazing bands over the last year has renewed my faith in humanity… and the metal community is awesome.
In case it hasn't been mentioned, Tati's studio "Judgement and Punishment" (video is hella fun too), but also Spiritbox anything… Rule of Nines was my first from them. You found UTA but they have a lot of other amazing tracks. And lastly, for fun, check out "Hypa Hypa" from Eskimo Callboy. Talk about a blast from the past! The song is awesome but the video is phenomenal. Cheers!
"Legit Boss" may be the best ive heard! that and someone once put
Katy Perry-hear me roar
Tatiana-hold my beer
just Fn good!
Masterpiece! One of their best works, amazing piece of music!!
Every day it become clearer to me that this is Tatiana's world, and we all merely exist in it. She is so good its unfair (yes the band is also super tight and incredible as well). Loving your reactions my man, watching Jinjer reactions is one of my favourite things to do and yours are some of the best because you understand the music so well and appreciate every intricacy and twist they weave into their style. Couldnt agree more that she has us all in the palm of her hand... and there's no other place I'd rather be :)
I catching up, doing a deep dive on your Jinjer reactions….Very entertaining!! 🤘🤘
Was a wall of death at the end of the song. Split down the center and when the beat hits you run at each other as hard as you can viking style
Even a year ago you did great analysis. Yeah I know about the song but I'm reacting to your reaction. And it's cool
Perennial, judgement and punishment, I speak astronomy is a good way to get your journey on its way. No worries though with Jinjer there is not a dud to be had. Nothing but bangers. Enjoy the ride. Check out some Tool as well. Again nothing but greatness.
Regarding the crowd interaction, you have to realise that Jinjer was on tour as *support act* for Soilwork and Amorphis when they shot the material for this video (that's why there is so much covered stuff on stage). I was there, on the first concert of the tour and it was insane, it sure felt like they were headliner, too. Soilwork, who came after them were almost boring in comparison, at least I can't remember anything from their part. Of course, Amorphis were great, too.
Jinjer is....da.....sh*t!!🤘
If u have never heard Korn before check out freak on a leash. It is from 20 yrs ago but they singlehandedly changed metal during that time.....love the channel
2016 or 2017 they were at South By SW in Austin, TX missed them but they do come to the US hope to see them after this covid stuff is behind us
All Hail Queen Tatiana!
This stunning woman loves to rip my heart out and stomp on it and I love it too!
Jinjer it's an amazing band! and what you are explaining at 9:14, I think it's the same thing happenning with the band Rush, and so the, (Rush and Jinjer), drumers and bass guitars so good we forgot to listen a bit the guitarists but they are very good too! To watch and understand the talented guitarists, you have to check these playtrough guitar's videos
Greeeeat reaction! You know what you are talking about and most important: You have love in yourself for the music, love and passion! 👍
Where to go from now? You know already. You`re on the right way, keep going! 🤘
the way the 3 musicians work together is similar to that of Rush.
Love the channel brother, great stuff! Love me some Jinjer!
Tatiana's stage command is amazing. It's not just a pretty face up there for everyone to ogle at she commands respect with her amazing vocals and stage presence. She is so unique.
Friggin nailed the story. Nailed the riff. Love you man.
Everyone does the Jinjer videos you've done... I want to see people doing their older stuff like 'Cloud Factory' - 'No Hoard of Value' - 'Scissors' - and the song that really got everyone's attention back in 2015....'Sit, Stay, Rollover'....
Subscribed ! You are my new favorite reactor. Make me laugh with your comments . Keep it up dude
I saw them in Toronto maybe a year back and they opened with this...such a band, been to hundreds of shows in my 40 years and this is in my top 5 live experiences ever, was real cool to catch them just as they were starting to blow up, smaller 1500 or so person venue but it was getting nuts so I can see seeing them in arenas next tour...was kind of a surreal experience
By the way they are on the tour right now, so I think it's the time.
🤘🤘🤘 arr wiping a tear .. just like me when i see people react . . Maybe im mentaly fucked but some things are just that good 🤘🤘👍
Man coming back to your reaction. Love it. Man you really nailed all the tech in this song. Appreciated. Showed me new stuff. As loving this song constantly listening just looking for what I could have possibly missed. You got some of them.
7:11 there are only a few people who understod the lyrics of this song - i am currently running through your reaction, and eventhough you have good knowledge i didnt subbcribed yet (i will do it now) - but being able to talk about the music and the lyrics is a good trait as a reactor (thumbs up)
I saw them a year ago October in Edmonton Alberta 🇨🇦..... unbelievable, and they sound just as good live ... You should check out scissors, it’s from 2012 and it will really showcase how much they’ve changed….. also perennial is going to kick your ass too!!!
I'm with you, man. I had tickets to their show last March, but it got cancelled due to the pandemic. At some point COVID has to end. Regardless, great reaction!
If you want a great example of a band with a crowd in the palm of their hand... and i mean serious crowd control... check out Slipknot- Spit it out live at download 2009
You HAVE to react to Trivium - In Waves
Or Parkway Drive - The Void/ Vice Grip/ Bottom Feeder for 3 songs. They headlined huuuge festivals and need to be in your book of musical knowledge
Jinjer is a one in a bajillion band. Unreal.
her voice control is pheonominal.
Congratulations your one of rare reactors who got the meaning of this song
You should definitely check out Periphery - Reptile! You won't be disappointed. This is metal at its epitome! I have been binge watching your videos for the last 2 hours straight because you are one of my favourite reactors!
Lovin your reactions to jinjer, seriously if you get the chance to see them live definitely go ( sell a kidney if you have to ) they're that good lol. Can't wait for you to start on Nighwish another rabbit hole to fall down
Wow mate you are the best reactor i have heard, and i have have watched a lot of reactions, you just hit the important points and you enjoy it while you do it, the Jinjer army will hopefully get you to great viewnumbers.
Absolutely an epic reaction!
i think by using tremonti as a standard you are not pissing everyone off, he is one of the greats of the 2010's one of my favourite guitarists ever \m/
Realises at 9 minutes in that they flip everything over. From music to the band. Could be what makes them unique? Love your content bud. Been watching quite a number of reactions to music but really know that you know what you are talking about. Keep it up bud
You should check out :
falling in reverse popular monster
And you’ll be blown away.
Excellent spotted that guitar and bass in this band are kinda switched their musical roles in comparing with the classical metal. I thought about it but wasn't able to put it into the complete sentence.
Interesting that when Jinjer is on the stage the bassist is take the place to the left hand of the singer and the guitarist - to the right hand. In other bands it's usually vice versa.
Zero ego band, only there for the music
Yeah, I was supposed to see Jinjer in Milwaukee early this spring, but the pandemic came along just in time to shut it down. Covid-19 really shit in my cereal. Anyways nice reaction.
LOL golf Shoe
Judgement and punishment one take is the perfect showcase of what she can do. When you're done with jinjer check out Slaughter to prevail "demolisher" Russian metal and one of the most exciting and aggressive modern metal bands.
If you want to have your mind blown by Roman's guitar playing, check out the Captain Clock guitar playthrough.
Other bands to check out, Opeth, Mr. Bungle, Twelve Foot Ninja, Native Construct, Periphery, Meshugah, Dream Theater, Textures, David Maxim Micic, Gojira
I had the same reaction first time I heard Jinjer... Hard to find a part where you can pick your jaw back up off the floor
Continue the ride with this awesome band.... but also give Slipknot "Psychosocial" a shot... you will love it! ;)
I think someone has a new crush lol
Tetjana ist the best! I love her so much!
You notice Vlad plays with his drum sticks upside down?
Check out Spiritbox - Holy Roller. Courtney LePlant is another badass female screamer. Also another super technical and tight band with funky metal grooves.
Another video another comment with a suggestion on this road. If you really like female vocals in bands you may also MUST check out: Evanescence (Amy Lee), Within Temptation (Sharon den Adel) another Dutch artist like Floor Jansen but not to compare. al the love for this journey you taking us on. keep it up
You should check out Slipknot Disaster pieces live in London 2002.
No notification for this video
"welcome back Jinjer" - aaaa-hahahahaha!!!! Man, do you wonna blow you mind again? After all - check Beggars Dance (no video, hmmm)
not that old ;) I should know. love your attitude.
As you are doing Perrenial, a dufferent suggestion - Captain clock - live.
From the rest of the scene - check our spiritbox, infected rain - I'm parial to 'me against you' but mold will do :). There is always twelve foot ninja - sick, one hand killing,...
Anyways, there is too much - the scene is rich with talent at the moment. And not just metal - Stoned Jesus - I am the mountain (what is going on with ukrainian bands?!?)
sorry for the spelling... :(
You do need to see them! You want Reggae??? Jinjer Judgement Punishment..... don’t watch official video... watch Tatiana’s one take! Make sure it is Tatiana’s one take.... it will FLOOR you
Many of their songs use metaphor to make a point. Way to go catching the underlying point behind these lyrics.
Speculations here and there stated that she was from a Catholic/Christian school and perhaps this was her own experience but who knows if it's true or not? the song was fire! Plus, people say that her profession before she became a vocalist was a teacher. Cool huh? 🔥🔥🔥
Друже, Татьяна, неймовірна!)
loved your reaction and the analysis in the middle of the song :-) my feelings exactly! you reaaaaaaaally need to check their song "Judgement And Punishment" - preferably the sing through version :-) peace & love
Jinjer judgment and punishment live one take
I always wonder while listening to this one if it was inspired in any way by 'Another brick in the wall'?
3guitars next tour live
Such a great Breakdown!...Thank You...SUB!.."On The Top" official video...or "I speak Astronomy"....you can't go wrong.
i guess you'd like another ukrainian diamond - vika yermolyeva aka vkgoeswild. she is completely different, she writes and performs metal songs arrangements for piano. and you'll have a lot to talk about metal music with one of the best examples which is master of puppets cover perfomed 10 years ago in zurich. but i'm not sure if her videos are copyright protected. anyway, you will enjoy this, i guess.
You have to do judgement and punishment next one take vocal version
How is comparing him to Mark Tremonti an insult? Alter Bridge and Tremonti are literally my two favourite bands.. XD
SANCTA TERRA
This band really clicked and took off once Vlad became their drummer.
if you want to see some amazing closeness to gwen stefani check out a song by them called APE
That flip you're talking about, where the guitar is not doing lead work with a bunch of riffs and solos, going for a foundation of heavy chugs while the drums and bass lay down a groove is an aspect of djent, a sub-genre that Jinjer have drawn a lot of inspiration from. This is a deceptively progressive band; they may stay away from a lot of the prog tropes and memes but the way the write is 100% prog.
I smile to you, cuz I want you to see
How I break the rules in front of your trinity
And thats what she does best, she breaks all the rules you assumed in music.
The song does have some anti religious sentiment but you are right it's more of a metaphor for all figures of authority who dont trying to control things they don't have any knowledge of.
