It's Jessica pegula time now . Sabalenka should have got it last year. She gave it up to coco gauff. That's her problem the trophy stays in America again.
Pegula and Navarro are at a big "disadvantage" being from highly wealthy families. It's harder to put in the longer miles, and gut it out when you don't feel like it. Past multiple champions like the William's sisters, Monica Seles, Maria Sharapova, and Steffi Graff all came from poorer backgrounds. This is what gives then the fire and desire to go thru the pain, to improve their life, and help out their family. It's a must. I'd like to see the 2 "rich girls" in Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula rise above this, and prove they can win, and gut it out.
I kinda wish people would stop commenting on her background. If she’s made it this far, she obviously has all the will and determination necessary. Nobody talks about how Steph Curry came from a wealthy background or had all the paths at a young age to become a professional basketball because of his father (I’ve been following him since he got drafted, and it was never a storyline like it is for this girl).
