I had so much fun playing madden, the game is amazing, great game play, great modes and features great customisation….so does anyone else still play Madden 08 on the PS2? Or just me.
Me, me, I do! Players felt so realistic in 08, Moss felt like Moss. Run him deep and throw it up and even if he has tight coverage you'll see him jump and go for crazy catches. Run as LT and you feel his versatility compared to other backs. The QB vision cone separated top guys from average starters from backups. You could feel the accuracy difference in every point, and the arm strength too. When a player had high agility you noticed, the weight and height mattered. Every player feels just a bit different, like it should be. Then the depth of franchise and career mode. 08 is fantastic.

EA makes more from online sales than game sales. between march 2020 and march 2021, they made 1.7 billion from game sales and 3.85 billion from live services (such as MUT).
let’s say those are full $60 game sales. the mean buyer (across all EA games) spends around $135 after the purchase. i wonder whether they could make madden free but rack up more money from MUT, so at the end of the day the books look positive.

They could make madden free but they won't because then they would have to split MUT money with the NFL why do that. When you can pay them their 30 you keep 30 then you add like 40-60 more on top of your 30. In order for us to make an impact we have to not buy or download the game at all. Even If you don't play it once you download it it's a number for them. I was playing earlier against my friend locally, I intercepted a pass and ran it into the end zone. The game does a booth review, takes away the touchdown but gives me the interception. We looked at the replay and you could see I stepped out of bounds. All that sounds good except I started my drive with 2nd and 78.....

What has changed lol I played one game in franchise mode, won 24-7. I get back to the menu and for some reason, it says I lost the game 9-0. Like wtf is that😂 Right then and there, I noped and took the game out and put it right back in the envelope. Can't be bothered with this nonsense

A lot of us stopped buying madden years ago. Everything you have said about this madden and previous maddens is 100% on point. At this point it is pointless to say a word to EA. If anything the NFL should be trending for all the wrong reasons, for making us wait until the license deal is done with EA in hopes they do not get resigned for exclusive rights.

For years I’ve been complaining about the matchmaking system, my 80 overall team gets matched up with a 90 ovr team. The game is already uneven and favors the ones with high overall instead of technique play. Players get pancaked, make dumb decisions, bombed on. I said last year will be my last year on MUT, but I’m serious this time. I remember the matchmaking system on 17 was perfect.

As someone who is 35 and has been playing Madden since the early 90's, I'm disgusted that this is my only option for an NFL licensed game. Both the NFL and the people at EA Sports should be ashamed of themselves. For the past few years the game has been so bad that I refuse to buy anything other than a used copy as to not directly support this abomination they think is worthy of $60. If only they actually seemed like they gave the slightest shit about players like me, who want to play an immersive franchise mode as opposed to some dumb pack buying mode, I'd happily pay for a quality game like that. But I seriously doubt I'll ever get anything resembling a proper NFL simulation game so long as EA has an exclusive license.
It’s amazing how MLB the show continues to make improvements and has a better “mut” program than EA with Diamond Dynasty. You can remain competitive and earn high rated players with literally no money spent. That being said they have to pay attention to franchise and road to the show more. They don’t get a pass for that, but at least the game looks and plays like a simulation baseball game

It’s got some decent pieces put in place with coordinators, the talent tree, scouting in September (a bit late but that’s not the point), but it’s grossly overshadowed by Madden’s…..”Madden-ness”. The gameplay is still shallow AF, with animations still in play. Players barely act like themselves. As if X-Factor superpowers were bad enough, now the stadiums are superheroes too. To their credit, EA finally took a step forward in Madden development, but that’s irrelevant when in the same beat you take 2 steps backward. The only time I’d recommend M22 is when it’s on sale. I’m not even sure if I’d pay $30 for it ESPECIALLY if I have M21.

Who the hell even wants the yard or superstar ko, I want a playable game and a good franchise. How hard would it be to combine a few gta style features like a very limited open world where you can drive to practice, buy a house do charity events and youth camps(all optional of course), I mean it's next gen and it's basically the same horrendous game no innovation nothing.
Be careful what you ask for. This is what 2k did for nba 2k21 next gen (the city) and it was horrible. The game itself was garbage too. Madden, and 2k, already don’t fix what’s broken in their games and spend most of their time trying to figure out a way to suck more money out of you after your original purchase. I wish both companies would stop worrying about anything other than gameplay until they’ve got gameplay fixed. Then worry about adding additional things. I was SO excited for EA's exclusive contract with the NFL to be coming to an end after the 2021 season, only to have my dreams of a fresh NFL game shattered by their extension through 2026. They have 4 years to fix it, and while I still long for an enjoyable virtual NFL experience, I genuinely hope they stay in their complacency for these 4 years. Maybe the NFL will finally realize Madden no longer does anything positive for their brand.

Madden Mobile 22 is 1000% worse than MM22. Its disgusting, in MM21, I had an entire roster of 102-105's (6 madden max players) all wiped out in the madden mobile 21 update to madden mobile 22. I barely had them a week to use in the game before they dropped MM22. Spending hundreds of dollars buying packs and this is how EA does its players by DELETING YOUR WHOLE ROSTER!!!! I couldn't gaf about the story mode, I don't even open it. Just improve the gameplay a bit to the extent that I wouldn't have a tough time telling each game apart in a blind test and spend time on franchise instead of some cliche story.

For years I’ve been complaining about the matchmaking system, my 80 overall team gets matched up with a 90 ovr team. The game is already uneven and favors the ones with high overall instead of technique play. Players get pancaked, make dumb decisions, bombed on. I said last year will be my last year on MUT, but I’m serious this time. I remember the matchmaking system on 17 was perfect.

The NFL needs to step in an save it's brand! Put pressure on EA or void the contract and allow open competition. I have been buying Madden every year for the past 20 years, but not the past two years.
Your reviews reflect LITERALLY everything I think about the game. The only reason I buy it, is because it's the only "sim" football available.
As someone who is 35 and has been playing Madden since the early 90's, I'm disgusted that this is my only option for an NFL licensed game. Both the NFL and the people at EA Sports should be ashamed of themselves. For the past few years the game has been so bad that I refuse to buy anything other than a used copy as to not directly support this abomination they think is worthy of $60. If only they actually seemed like they gave the slightest shit about players like me, who want to play an immersive franchise mode as opposed to some dumb pack buying mode, I'd happily pay for a quality game like that. But I seriously doubt I'll ever get anything resembling a proper NFL simulation game so long as EA has an exclusive license.
It’s amazing how MLB the show continues to make improvements and has a better “mut” program than EA with Diamond Dynasty. You can remain competitive and earn high rated players with literally no money spent. That being said they have to pay attention to franchise and road to the show more. They don’t get a pass for that, but at least the game looks and plays like a simulation baseball game

1:44 This is maybe the most accurate, unbiased review of the game I’ve seen yet. It’s got some decent pieces put in place with coordinators, the talent tree, scouting in September (a bit late but that’s not the point), but it’s grossly overshadowed by Madden’s…..”Madden-ness”. The gameplay is still shallow AF, with animations still in play. Players barely act like themselves. As if X-Factor superpowers were bad enough, now the stadiums are superheroes too. To their credit, EA finally took a step forward in Madden development, but that’s irrelevant when in the same beat you take 2 steps backward. The only time I’d recommend M22 is when it’s on sale. I’m not even sure if I’d pay $30 for it ESPECIALLY if I have M21.

Who the hell even wants the yard or superstar ko, I want a playable game and a good franchise. How hard would it be to combine a few gta style features like a very limited open world where you can drive to practice, buy a house do charity events and youth camps(all optional of course), I mean it's next gen and it's basically the same horrendous game no innovation nothing.

Be careful what you ask for. This is what 2k did for nba 2k21 next gen (the city) and it was horrible. The game itself was garbage too.
Madden, and 2k, already don’t fix what’s broken in their games and spend most of their time trying to figure out a way to suck more money out of you after your original purchase.
I wish both companies would stop worrying about anything other than gameplay until they’ve got gameplay fixed. Then worry about adding additional things.

The game may not be the best but it's pretty good and can you honestly say you wouldn't prefer that than superstar ko and the yard? Those game modes are horrible they belong in arcade style nfl game not a simulation football game. Imagine if ea outsourced to Rockstar and had them develop that aspect of the game while solely focusing on gameplay and franchise progression. The game would have 2 or 3 times the sales.
I was SO excited for EA's exclusive contract with the NFL to be coming to an end after the 2021 season, only to have my dreams of a fresh NFL game shattered by their extension through 2026. They have 4 years to fix it, and while I still long for an enjoyable virtual NFL experience, I genuinely hope they stay in their complacency for these 4 years. Maybe the NFL will finally realize Madden no longer does anything positive for their brand.

Lol Ive always said once this hits ea pockets in different ways and a wave of movement begins through media reviews petitions etc that gets ea s attention it will start to change!! They can or could afford to just sit back and do this crap because people bought it and content creators keep giving it attention!! Once the normally neutral content creators start complaining and putting them on blast it gets attention!! The key is for the negativity to get brought to the nfl or nflpa attention!! Madden Mobile 22 is 1000% worse than MM22. Its disgusting, in MM21, I had an entire roster of 102-105's (6 madden max players) all wiped out in the madden mobile 21 update to madden mobile 22. I barely had them a week to use in the game before they dropped MM22. Spending hundreds of dollars buying packs and this is how EA does its players by DELETING YOUR WHOLE ROSTER!!!!
