Definitely bolus everything 3rd lactation+ regardless of the dry cow feed as standard its well worth the money, we do on our Jersey herd. The videos are absolutely brilliant and so educational keep up the good work 👏
Ah jees Charlotte you are one mighty woman there's no doubt about it your animals are very lucky and safe in your very capable hands fair play to you another excellent video thanks
Hi sweetheart! How are you? Its been a while since I was shoulder deep in a cow 🐮... you are such an inspiration, you work so hard so make time to relax occasionally! Love as always Tracey ❤ 🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮🐮 Those ladies are a lucky herd indeed 😊
Well done charlotte, I'm v happy to see you getting used to the jerseys, the robots, sheding gates, bedding the cubicles up better, etc etc. Now, vet visits is something to master along with ai, which you've been doing I know- beef cattle need bugger all vet stuff to breed with a bull, dairy cows are a different matter. No doubt youll talk with your vet to work out which cows, how long calved etc to pull out, plus the PC system will tell you. Keep going gal, you're both doing great xx
I do that too! “ twiddle “ my hair when I am tired! I hope you thought of parking something up against the feeder after you put the silage in it so that they couldn’t push it out and escape. We have found that lock nuts prevent the unscrewing problem and chains with clips on ALL gates that can be opened just because they will eventually get them open. Silage should be finished tomorrow ( fingers crossed) I know Sunday and all that but needs must and we are already weeks behind. Keep up the good work . This old dairy farming isn’t as handy as all that even with robots eh ? Still plenty of work to do funnily enough I actually like the milking bit,it’s kinda relaxing and no one annoys you when you are in the parlour, I don’t even answer the phone to be honest. Regards from Ireland.
A great job done with delivering the calves, and nice to see Roy making sure they were all good. This is one of the reason's I love watching you, we get to see it as it happens well done Charlotte.
If you put a second nut on and use two spanners, one to hold the origional nut still, then lock on the second nut, this acts as a locking nut, and there aint no way that the cows will be able to slacken that off. Unless maybe two of them work together one on each nut ( ha ha). I think you and Roy are doing a brilliant job, and its really enjoyable watching all the trials and tribulations, keep up the great vlogs, thanks Phil B.
Good to see shedimg gates working could you get 8 liner shells so you can have them ready and just unscrew the worm ones and put new ones on to save robot down time keep up the good work it will get easier !!
Looks a very good set up for that section, and Roy's less likely to veto it when it's already been done...🤔 Is random another way of saying "very interesting & informative."?? ❤
2500 milking on rubber liners I changes around 2700 😊 We asked and got 4 C cups for free to do a quick change but also to have as a spare. Linking a video I found, unfortunately he doesn't show the removal of the old ones. I push in the narrow end with a large flat head screwdriver. Silicone is not needed good luck 😃 ruclips.net/video/ZSaKdx9VPig/видео.htmlsi=h30s39O-8PJEE-aS
I have never seen a pair of plastic pipe cutters used in that way Charlotte 😂😂. Dose Roy not like putting his arm in a cow as it’s always you up to your shoulders. At least it keeps you warm on cold nights 😂😂. Great video random or not. We need daily videos like Olly 🤔 maybe not as you wouldn’t have the time as your job is harder than growing some grain 😂😂
I had 2 thoughts, how you were going to get the scraper tractor in but it was around the corner but also could you get the manitou in to fill the feeder…
Always pull a backwards calf as soon as possible. Ive never had problems with twins or heifers/cows taking them and have had 13 sets all alive one year out of 135 cows. I have had 2 or 3 sets over the years that were all tangled up and dead inside.
About that red clipper thing Lely provide we got a blue one. A BLUE one 🤣 we bought a RED robot. Always bring this up when someone from Lely are at the farm 🤣🤣
Always bolus them after they calve even if u have that feed its better to be safe we do every cow that calves we do them after as it's better to do that because if the milk fever becomes toxic it will kill her so every cow needs one after calving just putting this as advice
Charlotte don’t apologise for putting your cows first before what you look like because I prefer you do that and have a live calf and mother. You saw something happening and reacted quickly
Did you have to change the thumbnail on this video? When I started watching it was you calving a cow by the time it finished it had you sitting surrounded by cows
Yeh it was I thought it was a cool thumbnail but then it didn’t do very well (RUclips gives you stats on how many people are clicking based on the thumbnail)
Why cant you get liners which are designed for the robots you should not have to cut the new liners to fit. There are different types of liners to fit different shells. The shells are part the liners fit into.If you google liners for lely robots you will see what I mean.
HI DUCK GOOD UTUBE GREAT smelly filters milk bin bag put smelly into nappy bag then put in bin bag close bin again with bulldog clip nappy bags aldi . Robot tec. Used nappybags for guide dog po. Love blind dave northstaffs😂❤😅
It looks like the newness of dairying is wearing out. I'd prefer you to look real. You don't need slap on for the camera. You can't compare running jerseys to beef cattle. Did you attend seminars, information days, etc, in preparation to learn the ins and outs of switching to and running a dairy farm, or are you learning on the fly using it as RUclips content?
Errol I have been farming for over 15 years now and many of the skills I’ve picked up are transferable I also milked for someone else I a traditional parlour so the only thing I don’t really have a clue about are the robotics and we can’t really go to a class about those x
Definitely bolus everything 3rd lactation+ regardless of the dry cow feed as standard its well worth the money, we do on our Jersey herd. The videos are absolutely brilliant and so educational keep up the good work 👏
Beautiful to see your husband taking care of momma and babies
Always worth waiting. Your smile and good humour would brighten up anyone’s day
I've never seen a cow have the look of 'WHAT DA FUQ" as it had to turn right and go through the race lol ❤
Everybody thort you where the softie till see Roy sitting with cow and calves
Ah jees Charlotte you are one mighty woman there's no doubt about it your animals are very lucky and safe in your very capable hands fair play to you another excellent video thanks
Great video Charlotte, great to see you bubbly and happy in your job, when will the ladies be heading out to grass
Great video Charlotte 👍 I'm still mesmerised by our seg gates after nearly two years 🤣😎
Hi sweetheart! How are you? Its been a while since I was shoulder deep in a cow 🐮... you are such an inspiration, you work so hard so make time to relax occasionally!

You are doing a great job as a very intelligent young lady.❤❤❤
Charlotte changed the milkers 🎉🎉, in the words of Clarkson “ i did a thing”, proud of ya gal, you get more confident every video 👍🏼🍻💛
Fab video, thank you, Well done with the twins, that was great to watch. Take care. Witchy. X
Love the videos, we are ALL learning something new each day. I 'm fascinated by the technology used now to milk cows.
Me too! Isn’t it cool x x
The glamour of RUclips. Cracking job . Real life , hard work and a bloody good job. Impressive animal husbandry.
Thank you x x
Another cracking episode, great to see you shoulder deep in the thick of it and the shedding system working. Great content.
I got cameras here two years ago I would have give up if I didn’t put them in
A great job done with delivering the calves, and nice to see Roy making sure they were all good. This is one of the reason's I love watching you, we get to see it as it happens well done Charlotte.
Thanks 👍 your a gem x x

We need to know what Roy said about the arrangements.
Ur working hard fair play to you
Well done you made that delivery look easy , also nice blog on the farming programe sat there like the jersey whisperer all around you 👍 👌
The delivery was performed with energy, skill, and elan
3.40 ish, Those other cows watching intently 😊 great job by the way 👍
Thanks! 😃
What a star you are!
Wow, don't get too near that milking machine 😂
Oh no it was turned off it can’t hit you x
Great video
You are a breath of fresh air after a rubbish day ,I'm sure Roy will say it was all his idea to do all that 😂😂❤
Love all the Robots, computers but the Baler Twine on the gate is the most useful default system. 😊
Great random vid
If you can’t fix it with baler twine and gray tape you can’t fix it.
I agree 😂😂😂
Great video again. Twin Heifers are the best. You're learning fast - well done.
Yes they are! So cute
We love random videos. :). Beautiful girls.
Awesome 👍🏼
I have to say the T-shirt is quite flattering to you
Good to see shedimg gates working could you get 8 liner shells so you can have them ready and just unscrew the worm ones and put new ones on to save robot down time keep up the good work it will get easier !!
That’s a very very good idea x x
always makes a laugh when the woman says she will get the ‘lube’
Very good and interesting.
Glad you think so!
You did that like a pro .
Cows are smart ehen it comes to excaping.or so they think .thus the bolt .
So when do the Theatrical, and Singing performances begin from the Balcony?
Looks a very good set up for that section, and Roy's less likely to veto it when it's already been done...🤔
Is random another way of saying "very interesting & informative."?? ❤
Hi can you make again a calving assistance video? There are so intresting:)
Nothing has needed calving I’m afraid but I sure will when it happens
Charlotte you are a star ✨ you are doing a fantastic job x
Thank you so much!!
Just remembered, for the bolts dill a hole in the end and put a R clip through 😊
Great video as always Charlotte
You could put one footbath pre milking, and one footbath post milking and see which one gets dirty sooner?

In the next installment of Mooternity ward moos,
Will Charlotte be caught on the hoof again ?

Excellent video Charlotte!

Cool looks like it works good ok be safe

Thank you! Will do!
Sheffield scissors are the best.
Great pull

Perhaps you have discovered the new most popular coffee flavor?
If there is enough threads on the bolt put a second nut on and tighten that will solve that issue
About that red clipper thing Lely provide we got a blue one. A BLUE one 🤣 we bought a RED robot. Always bring this up when someone from Lely are at the farm 🤣🤣
Ask them who makes the red feed hoppers that will make you giggle (GEA)
@@charlotteashleyfarmYeah saw it in your video 🤣
yep there called liners the things you put them in are the cups well done with the twins
Thank you x x
For a cow that have twins if you give her 6 or 7 ml of oxytocin immediately after calving it helps her pass the afterbirth. Not always but most times.
Ì give every cow a bolus as a safety now a help but need calmag under skin if getting milk fever plus oxytocin after hard calving or twins
Always bolus them after they calve even if u have that feed its better to be safe we do every cow that calves we do them after as it's better to do that because if the milk fever becomes toxic it will kill her so every cow needs one after calving just putting this as advice
If you have milk fever problems to prevent it put 100g a head of mag flakes in the diet
Dry cow nutrition is the mo😢important on any dairy far😢
Why is your camera always zoomed in so far?
U could have asked tom Pemberton how to change them milk things
good job sweety!!
Are you sure you should be allowed to have a sharp object 😂
The semen guy could construed in many ways.
Pop the milk liners out with a flat head screw driver and they will pop out easily
Your a star I’ll try that next time x x
We thought our kids ruined our sleep you got a whole farm yard to keep u up
What a girl.
Well done Charlotte Great video and you make a great midwife
Thank you!! 😊
afternoon ❤

😂😂 those are the Lely liners direct from Lely delivered by the Lely man
@@charlotteashleyfarm That is ridiculous they can't supply liners that fit their own shells.
