Thanks Dave, for taking us along on this great adventure with your mate, John. It was really good to here of the "real stories" also. Shame about the kn-b in the sailboat. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hi Stevie, we had a good week. I know sailboats have right of the way, but they don't have the right to force you into the bank. I said some swear words I hadn't heard before. 🤣🤣
Wroxham is always a nice boat ride. Heronby ( if you don't already know) was once the former home of George Formby! By the way that sailboat, oh my word. Has happened to us a few times too.
Hi Jane, I knew George Formby once owned a house there but didn't connect the two. As for the sailboat, I can't repeat the words of encouragement I offered him. 🤣🤣
Loved the series of video's Dave!!! The Broads are such a special place to relax and unwind!!! Enjoyed them so much that, today me and 'the boss' decided to book a week away starting next weekend from Wroxham!!! If you see a guy in a Spurs hat, with a wife with a drink problem, then please say hello!!!
Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed them. We are staying south next week but if you are down that way i will keep my eyes peeled for the hat and staggering wife. I might get away with that as it could be seen as a compliment. 😂🤣
@@Norfolk-Broads-with-Dave Will be heading straight down to the southern rivers. Never done the Beccles stretch and the wife will no doubt want a shopping trip in Norwich!!! Any recommendations for pubs and food in Beccles???
@@BodTheCap There's a few places to eat and drink in Beccles but not as many shops as there used to be. The Bear and Bells is good and Wetherspoons is cheap and cheerful. For more of a restaurant type of meal the Wine Vaults and the Waveney Hotel are not too far away. We have eaten in the Wine Vaults so can recommend it. We called for drinks at the Waveney Hotel but watched a few meals pass by which looked good. We are staying two nights the 6th and 7th and that weekend is very busy so booking a mooring is essential. Our first night we have to moor on the far bank because the one closest to the town is full.
@@Norfolk-Broads-with-Dave Was looking to get in the basin where the little kiosk is. The one close to the snooker hall. Is that fully booked??? Do you have a contact number of who I could book a mooring with by any chance??? It's a long trip down there to find out there's no room at the inn!!! Thought the southern rivers would be quieter!!!
@@BodTheCap try 01502712225. They were fully booked on the kiosk side for the Sunday but not Monday. I think there is a boaty meeting that weekend but most will leave Monday morning.
Yes Dave your quite right about the Yacht cutting infront of your bow , he,s got no right to do that when your so close to the bank with nowhere to go , a bit of courtesy on his part would have helped .
Hi Leonard, I think Russell is in the process of editing his latest trip. He doesn't have as much time on his hands as I do so it takes him longer and he does tend to do longer videos which takes more time.
Sailing though that Horning stretch isn’t easy at the best of times because the trees and buildings mess up the wind. One minute you have wind, next minute you lose it. Also, each time you tack (turn) you lose speed. You hope that you will regain speed as you cross, so if a cruiser gets in the way and prevents you from using the full width of the river, it can seriously mess you up to the point of stalling. That’s why saileys have right of way.
I understand they have the right of way and the wind can be friend or foe but if they had hit our bow that would have stalled them a lot longer than turning at our bow. A lot of skippers give you a signal which end to pass on. That guy just gave me a smile when he forced us into the bank. It was the smile that initiated my expletives rather than the manoeuvre.
Love your content Dave. The broads is my favourite place in the UK. Looking forward to your August vlog.
Thanks Gary, not long to go now.

Thanks for another great vlog…including your ‘true story’ 😅
Looking forward to your August adventure 👍
Thanks Carol, not long now until the next adventure. Fourteen on three boats should give me plenty of material to work with. 😀

Hi Philip, it was unfortunate how it happened but it was the smirk on his face that produced some words from me that I'd never heard before. 😉 🤣
Just watch you're vlog on thunder what's happened to Russell Thompson The Admiral haven't seen a vlog from him since last year.
