Visitors should spend at least 3-4hours at the Terengganu Museum and the Cultural Village. The Kampung Budaya (cultural village) is actually a 'living' museum with activities showcasing traditional cultures and heritage. It is set within compounds of old palaces and houses thats more than 100 years old. Thats why you hardly see visitors in the evening as most will visit in the morning to maximize their time there. Apart from the museum complex, the state museum department also takes care of other off-site monuments such as Kota Lama Duyong (on the small island in the river) and Rumah Warisan Haji Su, Losong. Theres also the old townhall building in the city centre with unique architecture, now houses the Terengganu Historical Society.

Careful visiting these northern states in Malaysia, they’re are not friendly to non Muslims. Foreign tourists should avoid these states all together. Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis
