Please don’t ever stop putting up content, you both are such wonderful positive people who make me smile and laugh in such dark times. Thank you so very much and please remember by allowing people to live vicariously through you has a massive impact on them. Truely fantastic Regards from Australia
You guys put so much effort into everything you do and yet nothing seems to faze you, you are a credit to the younger generation, love watching your videos,
I had to smile at Joanna's " and he comes Vic with number 2" on your Toilet Chase games show commentary, great to keep up with the mundane side of life, can't be all the glamour of cleaning chimneys!!!
Hey you two, this was an excellent Episode, i´ve enjoyed every bit of it and the editing made it so much more enjoyable. I´ve even got very enthusiastic as Vic was carrying the heavy "shit" ;) In two days, i´ve watched many episodes of yours and enjoyed every minute of it. "There is always more on a stretch of canal or land really then meets the eye" this i shall remember all my life. You both an your view on life and your own philosophy of it are the real stars of the vlogs for me. It is like an everday reminder, that we are supposed to life our lifes to our standards and we shall not try to impress others or live up to there standards. You make it look so easy to cope with yourselfs and the random trouble that life throws at us sometimes. As a 25 year old i do feel stupid from times to times, that i´ve tried to stay up to standards which i haven´t given myself, i´ve got a bloody masters degree in engineering and worked in the field for over a year now. I took me twentyfive years to realised, that this isn´t something i want to do for the rest of it. To be fair, your vlog got me thinking about, what do I really want to do with my life. Long story short, I realised that I´ll do something completly diffrent now just to be happy. Cause thats what it is all about, beeing happy and to smile at life even if it does give you lemons. For me your vlogs show this in every manner, your smiling, your following your self and your own standards and the most important you take care of your self, if you dont feel like posting a video then this is totally okay with all of us! Sorry for the long, puzzling but loving comment. And please excuse the mistakes I´ve done, i still try to get my head arround english as non native speaker. As soon as this covid thingy is over, I would love to grab a cuppa at your coffeboat! Till then all the best for you two from Dresden, keep the smile on the face and always a hand full of water under the bow!
You two are so inspirational - it's never "oh no! that's it, there's no way round this" but always "come on we can do it"; even when it's a nasty job like emptying toilets! A very enjoyable vlog to watch but I bet it was both cold and exhausting for you both. The marina certainly didn't cover itself with glory! A little bit of "we're all in this together" would have gone a long way. I hope you never lose those lovely smiles! Spring, and customers, are just around the corner!!
I love to see you making a day out of a simple chore that could have been accomplished in 20 minutes in a car. I do think we lose so so much when we zip from place to place. We get there faster but we lose all of the good stuff...we lose the journey -- the swan, the sounds of the water dripping off of the paddle... the sunset. This is the stuff of life. You two are so clever and funny. I love tje music and the sound effects. I look forward to these episodes at the end of each week. Thank you. ❤
You two never cease to amaze me! Making a poo trip of ten or so miles there and back with smiles on your faces! Not sure I could cope with that. lol Love your videos. Looking forward to the next one..........especially when you're hanging out of the café window flogging coffee and cake and pies 'n stuff!! Good luck.
Another entertaining episode, although I must admit I have never considered railway foot crossings as a thing of wonder, suppose the old "elf and safety" has closed a lot of them. Heres a tip - if you're ever about to cross one and an approaching train hoots at you, raise a hand to acknowledge you heard it. Save the driver a nervous few seconds.
You can make anything look beautiful and romantic, even a very difficult journey to empty your toilet cassettes. Those final shots of the red sky reflections in the water moved by your paddles are stunning.
I was thinking the same thing. But I guess you can't film yourself do that. Plus they probably have a lock on the door. Pull up to a thicket with a shovel and dig a hole. The trees get fertilizer. Job done.
My grandfather use to say “when you cut your own firewood it warms you twice.” The same must apply when you transfer firewood from the canal side to your narrow boat. Alas he never said anything about canoeing your cassettes 5 miles to a sanitary dump but I know it would have been equally profane.
Ya know if you flip the canoe over, you can carry it on your shoulders - the crossbars are for holding it on your shoulders, and you can stow the paddles lengthwise on the crossbars . It's called Portage (from the French Voyageurs in Canada). They were famous for canoeing thousands of miles and carrying TONS of cargo.... And when they were portaging around rapids, falls, etc - they'd have to carry EVERYTHING on their backs. Tough life. MUCH more pleasurable on a canal!
Ah yeah! I've seen this done but never been brave enough to try it! I might give it a go next time. There's a way of just flipping it up and onto your shoulders isn't there? I didn't know that about the French voyageurs.
This was a perfect episode. I never thought I’d enjoy an adventure of emptying a bunch of poo as much as I did this one. Terrific music choice, btw, for that last bit of floating in the twilight back to zero.
I had a home since I was 21 years old which I bought with my partner and then separated and 25 years later after all my independence , I lost all ….. you guys are inspirational and I survive as you do and enjoy life on the way. And all your challenges have reminded me of my steps of life into the brave 😊❤
That’s a lovely bag of logs, beautifully stacked by Vic. You two are always so positive. Loved your comments on Victors efforts of transferring everything from one side of the bridge to the other. What a journey for you both, but you made it Lovely sunset to welcome you back.
Nothing like a 5 mile romantic canoeing adventure in the British countryside with the one you love, to empty 3, 25 kilo toilet cassettes. Ahh, love is alive and well deep within the Cut! Keep the great videos coming, we love them!!!
I totally admire your commitment to your new lifestyle and the way you take on each day and tasks that ensure you live as you planned. Always in a positive way and a smile - respect to you both. 👍
The toilet trip duo paddling 🚣🏿♀️thro the gorge of water 🌊heading downstream on their 'deliverance' adventure......in the background could that sound be the twanging of Dueling Banjos ?? was that a crossbow bolt? will there be squealing like a pig ? Don't miss the next exciting episode, when all will be relieved.... revealed !! 😂
I admire your perseverance on a cold, winter day. I would have chucked it in by now. I cannot even raise the energy to cross the road to fetch a much needed bag of groceries. Of course, we are just ending a week of blizzards here in Canada with 2-3 feet of snow. Thanks for the great inspirational videos during this lockdown.
Whoa! We're always saying we don't know how Canadians do it! It got to minus five here recently and it stopped us in our tracks. I'm glad we could bring some relatively warm weather to you over there. To be fair, if there's a canoe involved I'm always much more keen. Hope you're enjoying some better weather to come!
For you long canoe trips like this one you need a 12 volt trolling motor and a fold-able solar panel . It won't be very fast but it will save your arms. CHEERSS
So funny! Do editors in mixed media have to climb the ladder like newspaper journalists of yore? Where you have to be proficient in all areas of the newsroom before you get to sit in the big chair? And do editors mean the same thing in film as in print? Whatever the answer(s) your acting, artistic and humor are top notch! Thank you for a much appreciated video!! Loved the game show bit. And absolutely love the fact that you put this together around emptying the loo. 🙊🙉🙈 😅
You have a relaxed and witty style to your canal vlogs. They are always authentic and there is no getting away from certain jobs. I loved the game show segment and the canoe paddling. It would have ruined it to speed it up so I’m glad you didn’t.
If your canoe doesn't already have a name, may I suggest Sisyphos? This is as good as the famous episode of The Sopranos (season 3, ep 11) where Paulie and Christopher get lost in the Pine Barrens. Good work. I must say, the water level eye view of life is like a three week vacation as I remember kayaking on the Potomac. So good, thank you.
wheels for the canoe (like kayak dolly) and a two wheeler for the poop buckets... the two wheeler you'll end up using for the cafe boat supplies and the canoe dolly is always useful, and can be tasked for other uses.
I’m binge watching your channel to ketch up. I know this vlog is at least 2 years old but, I would have asked to use the hook. My mom use to say, nothing beats a failure, but a try. She said it means you can only fail if you don’t try. Happy, cruising.
Hi guys , I noticed when Vic was moving Zero that a lot of the hull was riveted which indicates age how old is the boat? Get Vic some good insulated work gloves he makes me shiver .Keep smiling see Joanne you did it in 2 hours less than your estimate. Enjoy your dinner keep that lovely smile going .Cheers till next time
It was not very nice of Mercia Marina not letting you use their elsan point bearing in mind your circumstances,it’s a pity they couldn’t have just showed a bit of human kindness in these times.
I forgot, Stenson lock is a popular place for cars to go into the cut, there was one reported about a fortnight ago. More chance of flooding your canoe in a lock, plus as you say, always think of the 145,000 gallons you use each time.
We used to have this huge hunting canoe of my great uncles, it was metal, beat up, sort of camouflage from having been painted many times then banged and pounded around, dragged over rocks and gravel that knocked off paint all over it. It was forest green with mostly red and blue spots when we got it. It weighed a ton to portage , we turned it over so our shoulders supported it as we carried it. It was amazing though, was big enough to take 5 kids fishing with both parents. We took them to a lake that was full of little hungry bass so they could catch loads of little fish that we released to grow bigger. It was also great to go to on big rivers, take camping gear and spend a long weekend in stunning places. Our province is loaded with lakes from small to huge one resulting from when glaciers moved across the land, leaving huge boulders in the strangest places. I remember coming off the fishing lake when the sun went down with bats and Loons following us all across the lake to shore, probably chasing the hoards of mosquitoes that were chewing us up. Lol Thanks for taking us canoeing and bringing back those memories from when the kids were little. 🙋🏼🥰
I think I would have emptied them in the workman portaloo lol. What a great way to spend your day ! I am full of admiration for the two of you. At least it’s not raining lol . Keep smiling 👬🌝🌝
"peace love and subscribe..." 😆😆😆 Thanks for the entertaining, never dull (even poo run) show... Safe journeys and all that's good... From sunny South Africa...
Hi both have really enjoyed your vlogs, think this was probably the best, a ‘little’ adventure but you captured it your sense of fun , challenge editing , plus I think an emerging confidence dramatic and comedic. The railway crossing something from ‘nothing’ brilliant. Great stuff one of the very best vlogs about.
You want to make a little barrow to attach to the back end of the canoe which you can strap on when it's out of the water so you could drag it like a sled, with the cargo on board.
It’s a pity that you couldn’t have used the CRT Portaloo to discharge your waste. Would have saved a lot of angst, but you both seemed to enjoy the excursion. Well done, stay safe and take care. Derek
Footpaths crossing railway aren't unusual they're quite common but you need to be very careful when you use them, there are some areas where the train can be traveling over 183 feet per second and need more than a mile to stop.
Your videos are just a delight. They have such a calming vibe. One of my fav channels on youtube. You even turn a sh*t disposal mission into a compelling adventure. Just inject it into my veins. (the videos, not the sh*t, obvs) 😅
Hey you two...........coffee tip. Try pouring cream instead of milk, game changer. Here in Canada it's called half and half and the staple of coffee shops across the nation. Enjoy.
I watched this a year ago but found it just as amusing second time around, lots happened since you did this toilet run. Well done to all three of you now.. Dave B. Thailand.
You 2 are great ....... BEST yes BEST viewing ever .... better than any soaps or action movies, a pure delight to behold ..... blessings to you both and the barges
Jo Vic I noticed Zero was a riveted Hull tell me what year is she and what powers her please so interested, you two never let anything upset you ,you both always have a smile on your faces love it ,jo you are such a beautiful lady,Vic you are a Gentleman you are always happy always smiling you two make the perfect couple ,wow that looked hard work carrying the loos up and down the bank then the canoe well done you two glad it’s not me doing that lol Vic was that soot or makeup 💄 lol .well guys take care keep safe take care keep warm, love the video,John
Vic and Jo..... you crack me up.. that is nz slang for (VERY FUNNY). we have enjoyed watching HOLLY turn into a cafe. And your dialogue is refreshingly honest and fun. Just keep doing what you do .... DONT OVERTHINK anything. We love you the way you are. Cheers Mike and Raewyn Nz ....
I, ve watch a few video, s from narrowboats in uk. But you to are the only ones who allways hav a smile on ya. Even transporting sh..... Love the video, s take care and stay safe. Best regards from Germany 😊😊
Amazing they have put that crossing on the railway for people to use....hope you are both well......get yourselves a compost loo...easier to dispose of....
What a great video, and a very different perspective to travelling a canal. Emptying the waste is one of the downsides to your chosen lifestyle because of the distance between the Elson points but nothing seems to get to you both.Keep up the great videos and stay safe.
I admire you two, You just get on with it, never a complaint and a whole lot of smiles. You are a wonderful example to others. Love watching you, puts a smile on my face. Thank you
I’m a carpenter and have to carry boxes of tools all the time. A little lifesaver is the folding trolley. Nice and cheap and would be great for those carrying those loos. 😁👍🏼
Love the music at the bridge and willy wonka reference.. too funny. the toilet challenge maybe less brats and Guiness will keep those from filling up so fast.. Vic needs to practice the J stroke
Another great video but I think you missed a trick at that first bridge. There was a portable toilet for the CRT. They were late in finishing their work so empty in there. Pretty good trade off. Looking forward to next week.
Well, I’ve just spent 25 minutes watching you two canoe a 10 mile round trip to empty three toilets! Totally worth it. Isn’t RUclips strange!
Please don’t ever stop putting up content, you both are such wonderful positive people who make me smile and laugh in such dark times. Thank you so very much and please remember by allowing people to live vicariously through you has a massive impact on them. Truely fantastic

Another lovely evening watching 2 of the happiest people on RUclips, even emptying 3 cassettes of their contents. Keep smiling and enjoying life :-)
Better than watching the TV
😀😀

You guys really deserve the 'above and beyond' award! I was exhausted watching "Coming in with number two'!..Hilarious...!!
That Vic is always smiling ..... no matter what
You two are so inspirational - it's never "oh no! that's it, there's no way round this" but always "come on we can do it"; even when it's a nasty job like emptying toilets! It is so lovely to watch you both, everything seems to be with a smile and such delight. Even moving sh*t! Thank you for being so fabulous.
Your running commentory of Vic's loo carrying technique had me in stiches.
You two don't let anything get you down, smiles always, take care.
"Toilet Chase", I love it! Nicely done you two.
Perhaps the title of this episode should be "Poo in a Canoe" 😆
LOOOOVE the Toilet Chase sequence! Vic definitely should have won first prize in that race!
Whenever I feel like saying "don't think I can be bothered doing that" you guys are an inspiration, cheers.
Just loved toilet chase, and that's no shite! 😂
I love to see you making a day out of a simple chore that could have been accomplished in 20 minutes in a car. I do think we lose so so much when we zip from place to place. Great video as always! Seemed a bit mean of Mercia Marina not to let you use their elsan point 🤔. Glad you made it there and back in one piece xxx
You can make anything look beautiful and romantic, even a very difficult journey to empty your toilet cassettes. Those final shots of the red sky reflections in the water moved by your paddles are stunning.
How can emptying toilets have become the highlight of my week? Don’t know and don’t care just love it all!
:-D Mine too to be honest! I could canoe about for days and be happy as can be!
I would have emptied them into there porta-loo, would have done the same job and im sure they would have had space in there.
I was thinking the same thing. But I guess you can't film yourself do that. Plus they probably have a lock on the door.
Pull up to a thicket with a shovel and dig a hole. The trees get fertilizer. Job done.
The same thought crossed my mind.
The two of you are an island of tranquility in a crazy world. Stay as happy as you are for the rest of your lives. Cheers
Another memory made and saved for you to look back on in the future.
With love and respect, there are small phrases when you remind me of Bubbles. That's absolutely fabulous!!!
Call me bubbles darling, everybody does!
My grandfather use to say “when you cut your own firewood it warms you twice.” The same must apply when you transfer firewood from the canal side to your narrow boat. Alas he never said anything about canoeing your cassettes 5 miles to a sanitary dump but I know it would have been equally profane.

You two are so inspirational .Thank you for sharing your journey that was hard work just canoeing plus all the camera work. You're a joy to watch.
Don't miss the next exciting episode, when all will be relieved.... revealed !! 😂
I admire your fortitude and ability to cope with all the demands arising from having to operate two boats!

It blew my mind how something as mundane as a train crossing blew your mind lol. Great content as usual 👍

Hilarious. I am not sure how I would feel canoeing toilet contents along the canal on a cold February day. A Funny class act.
All I can say is WOW. I can't believe the journey you have to make for a necessary chore. Loved watching your trip. Stay well.
I’m binge watching your channel to ketch up. I know this vlog is at least 2 years old but, I would have asked to use the hook. My mom use to say, nothing beats a failure, but a try. She said it means you can only fail if you don’t try. Happy, cruising.

I forgot, Stenson lock is a popular place for cars to go into the cut, there was one reported about a fortnight ago. More chance of flooding your canoe in a lock, plus as you say, always think of the 145,000 gallons you use each time.

I thought exactly the same!
As Geoff Goldblum's charactor said in "The Big Chill", "That's the great thing about the outdoors. It's one giant toilet"
"peace love and subscribe..." 😆😆😆
Thanks for the entertaining, never dull (even poo run) show...
Revisiting some earlier videos. This one is so fabulous ~ from the toilet chase to the music and the sunset paddle home to Zero and Holly.
You want to make a little barrow to attach to the back end of the canoe which you can strap on when it's out of the water so you could drag it like a sled, with the cargo on board.

Really enjoyed, good to see your hardword and not dumping it in the woods as so many seem to be doing. Take care, stay warm.
You should
Invest in a little electric
Motor for the canoe makes the winter lock
Closures a
Little easier
Footpaths crossing railway aren't unusual they're quite common but you need to be very careful when you use them, there are some areas where the train can be traveling over 183 feet per second and need more than a mile to stop.

A beautiful video of the South Derbyshire countryside. Thank you for sharing.
I bet this experience makes you want ti check out the potential of composting toilets!
I so miss narrow boating

I’m from central California, USA 🇺🇸 thank you I really enjoy your adventures.
It was very muddy when we walked past Holly on Monday afternoon
You two are hard core. There's a lot to be said for holding tanks and marina pump outs.
How come emptying three toilet cassettes can be so romantic? Great sunset. Very entertaining. Love you guys.☺️
A beautiful journey to empty the loo.
epic job you guys. Think the marina was mean in these difficult times not to let you use their facilities !!
Well done on that epic journey, loved the gameshow edit! You guys have done fantastic! Beautiful sunset! 💚💜
You are both very inspirational and I hope one day that I may share a hot drink on a cold day with you both. Be safe.
So enjoy you both, you feel like family 😊
What a great video, and a very different perspective to travelling a canal. Emptying the waste is one of the downsides to your chosen lifestyle because of the distance between the Elson points but nothing seems to get to you both.Keep up the great videos and stay safe.
portage potty :)
and both still smiling. love your fortitude and love for life
My house was very close to one, top tip.......listen to the tracks , they make a high pitched hum when a trains coming...don't rely on it though
You two are a treasure! Thank you for the smiles and the warmth.
That kind of path is common in Sweden, for crossing railway, it’s everywhere. It can with or without signal’s or other things……
Pure brilliance and so inspiring. Again 😊
Brilliant game show edit and commentary...
Coming in with No 2! Made us chuckle! 🤭 x
My thoughts exactly!!
Absolutely fantastic
Superb photography and editing
Thank you
Wow, best video yet. Incredible videography, and such a story! You guys are so interesting. Thank you.
Thanks Gobi!
I admire your persistence shifting your waste!!! But have you ever considered a composting style toilet instead?
