Cryptex Puzzle Box

This is a cryptex that is made as part of a large puzzle box. It features 5 rings with 12 letters per ring, CNC engraved clues and inked letters. It is made from cherry wood, pvc and steel.

KnKinCabot Kent I’ll definitely keep this in mind as an idea for another series. It’d be fun but this require some non standard shop tools.

Can you tell me how you got the pins into the PVC tube? Is it 1 1/2 or 2 inch PVC? Again thanks. Kent

The inner tube has a 1 5/16" OD and the outer tube has a 1 5/8" OD. I just looked at the local hardware store for what two sizes nested well. To put the pins in, I drilled holes at the proper places and then used CA glue (crazy glue) to lock the pins in. I picked up a cross slide vise for my drill press - really helps hold these and move them in a straight line for drilling.
