I haven't seen anyone comment on how the hunter in the "funny" story where he kills his own dog after a misunderstanding and in the end the father who happens to be a hunter, unknowingly killed his own daughter are connected.
In one of the witch's house books in the hunter in that story Viola's father, but then it was his home sick wife, Viola's mom that die from her illness. The dog was their dog that had stolen stuff before but then it was just their stuff home, that's why the father got tired of the dog and now it stole someone else stuff. Viola was 1 years old at the time so she don't remember they even had a dog though.
Lol no, Viola has zero luck, every time Ellen (in Viola's body) die the cat (demon) brings her back to life because he wants the contract to be fulfilled. The secret ending explains it.
Was really hard, tho... and I wouldn't of figured it out if I didnt look for all the possible endings there are to see if the one i got was a bad one (the same Cry gets); been doing it since Ib :P
Nop, at one point, The real Viola help us not dying, Because she wants to keep her body in 1 piece. So when you die, the real viola will die soon after.
Hmm... The ending, if you know the back story in itself, is quite heart wrenching. Given that it's truly Ellen in Viola's body the entire playthrough, since she gave Viola the false promise to switch bodies for only "a day", and while going to leave, Viola called up the "huge patch of roses", which cause Ellen to return to find the potion to leave.... Viola (in Ellen's body) merely wants it returned, and given how Ellen (in Viola's body) before switching cut off the legs, gouged out the eyes, and after switching gave her 'medicine' that made speech nearly impossible- it account for the inability for 'Ellen' to properly speak... So much backstory to a small game.
Omg, at 23:33 Viola was trying to say "father" and "daddy." She cried out for her dad and then he killed her! That's the saddest thing I've ever seen! D,:
Also worthy of note: In the other ending (which isn't much different than this one), Viola's dad will tell her to stand back because he was going to shoot. The real Viola trapped in Ellen's body will back away, believing he was talking to her... :(
You know what? Even after reading Ellen's diary, seeing her story and all of the terrible things that happened to her, I still feel no sympathy for her whatsoever, and hate her for literally taking Viola's life. Ellen may have just wanted to be loved, but there's no forgiving this; taking someone's body and leaving them to suffer and have their soul taken by a demon when they die. That's not how you get love.
She would have already have had sociopathic tendencies, but the emotional and mental abuse she suffered would have pushed her over the edge. She literally cannot understand the emotions of love and happiness. To keep herself alive she made a deal with a demon, and in exchange had to kill her parents, an act that can be justified to an extent given the life she'd lived. The problem is though, she'd already fallen off the slippery slope. Don't hate her, hate the world that allowed her to be created.
***** That's true. A lot of things wouldn't have went down if it weren't for that cat. Of course, there's always the possibility that things could have turned out worse, too.
There's a little trick to this game: if you go through the whole game WITHOUT saving (which is more or less easy the second time), in the 'don't be distraughted' room you can move freely and inspect the shelves, and then you get much more information about the witch's story. SPOILER The cat's actually a demon that made a bond with Ellen for her to live eternally, in exchange of souls to eat. But Ellen eventually got sick and needed a new body. It's that, more or less. Cool, right?
i love seeing how people react to the true ending xD but in all seriousness though, it is pretty sad like you were the bad guy, the witch, the entire time and you helped her escape and when people first play the game they don't even know
Ok here is a thought... Remember toward the beginning of the game when you hear the story about a hunter who thinks that his dog robbed someone so he shot it? MAYBE Viola's dad is that same hunter and guess what?... HE MADE THE SAME MISTAKE!! He shot Viola on accident because he thought she was a monster when she was the good one (just like the dog was innocent) so that's my theory... What do you think?
This ending is so wonderful but horrible at the same time. It's so sad. I however like to believe Ellen got caught by Viola in the chase and she got her body back.
As sad as this ending is, it's fantastic at the same time. I feel the same way about this ending as I do about the ending of Se7en. Dark, horrible and shocking, yes. But does it make sense as well as being all of the above? Indeed. Easily one of the best RPG Maker games out there.
Ib is easily one of the best games I have ever played. It engages and frightens you in fantastic ways. And yeah, I just love To The Moon's story. Something that makes me emotionally attached to pixels is great in my book.
Also, some food for thought, Cry died in the game about a thousand times, and was caught by the real Viola a few times, so perhaps that means that Viola actually did get her body back all of those times?
Nope. Every time Ellen dies or Viola catches her, the cat demon resets time to before it happened. Hence the save mechanic. Also, to get her body back, Viola would need Ellen to trust and accept the spell, which she would not do.
I havnt seen all the outheres (I think there's only two endings) but the other was the same ending but the player not knowing that the wich had taken viola so you think the which is defeted even though you are the wich ( its kinda confusing)
I'm not crying but I'm dying inside which I think is worse because I'm not letting my emotions pour out of me in forms of tears. I can't bring myself to cry but it's so sad.
Rocio Rivas in fact, that cat is the demon. If you know what that cat actually is, u will hate it.... There are still 2 more 'endings' to know the true story.
holy fuck. I know this is old, but I've been looking for this kind of game forever - where you realize you've been playing the villain all along. I never thought the witch's house would be like that. holy shit I'm glad I watched that. thank you for playing.
I know this is a very old video now, and you are taking time for yourself recently Cry (which is very good), I watch your playthrough of this game every year during October and on Halloween. Your genuine reactions to this really great game is my favorite--thank you for playing this! After all these years, you still bring a lot of people joy from what youve done
Oh my goodness. I just realized something; What if those two cells in the garden area of the house represent Ellen's parents? The father, who smoked tobacco, and the mother, who wore heels? And the fact that they were each in cells shows Ellen's distance from her mom and dad, or her loathing towards them. Or it means she killed them? I...I am...a GENUIS! (Meantforthatmisspell)
I love that door puzzle, and I commend Cry for attempting it. Bottom-Right is a constant number while assuming that the remaining is an unknown number. Fascinating puzzle, indeed.
To any of you guys who didn't understand or was confused in the ending: this is a sad, tragic story of Viola. During Ellen's, the witch, sickness days, she became "friends" with Viola. As Ellen's time is almost near her end, she switched her soul to Viola, in which switched bodies. Ellen, now in Viola's body, ran away from the house but fell unconscious along the way. Before she came to, Viola, trapped in Ellen's sick body, has already trapped Ellen back to the house. That's where you play as so-called "Viola", and the game begins. NOW, comes the ending. As soon as Ellen walked halfway towards the long, narrow path, Viola, still trapped in Ellen's body, still tries to get her body back. Unfortunately thanks to Viola's father, he shot his daughter, not knowing the fact about the body switch spell Ellen cast on Viola. As Ellen and Viola's father walked away, Viola (sadly) died. She wasn't remembered by anyone, all except the black cat. As for Ellen...well, I think she might kill Viola's father, and probably her friends as well (in which restarting this all over again). As an addition, Viola didn't gave her body to Ellen: Ellen forced her to by casting the spell. Viola made friends with Ellen, but for Ellen she made...a new body. Let me just cut this short: Viola is too kind, and Ellen is too impure. You're welcome.
Vicar Amelia What I'm saying is that you play as so-called "Ellen", in which you actually play as Viola. And you have to surpassed all of Viola's monsters and traps (for her, it's again). And I'm actually talking the game story, not the book/comic/magazine.
Vicar Amelia Hm...if you're playing as Ellen the whole game, how come Viola was trying to say "Give it back" during the part after you've read Viola's diary on her table in the her bedroom? What does she mean by that? And how come Ellen says her name when she IS Ellen during the ending? Not to mention there's ANOTHER ending, so...
Vicar Amelia ...Oh. Went to RE-check my story. It was actually a story I made up for Viola, as mentioned in-game. Of course, this isn't related to the book nor Ellen's story: this is related to her very own story. And since she's in pain, I thought I should make a story of her. All this time was a mistake of one thing: their names.
Vicar Amelia Well, even if I knew the actual story, I wouldn't even tell it because someone has already cover that. Besides, I kinda like making my own story of the game story. Makes sense to those who're curious
I had a feeling that would happen, not that my head would fall off and my body would prance away, but yeah I figured that would happen. BEST QUOTE EVER! Also why did you kill the tadpoles? YOU MONSTER!
4:20 freaked the crap out of me.... T.T At the end, I was thinking- Watch, when the father goes to Heaven (or other) she'll be waiting and he'll wonder why she's there and she'll tell him everything and he'll feel SOOO bad.
The cat was a demon that gave Ellen her magic and made her immortal. In exchange, Ellen would lure girls to her house for the demon to take their souls. After a while her body began succumbing to the magic effects, she was dying. She meet viola and decided she'd take her body to prolong her life, but before she did the spell she cut off her legs then swallowed poison to destroy her vocal chords. Viola would suffer and die knowing her secret. But Viola ended up retaining some of the magic and tried to stop Ellen, hence the reason you couldn't leave
I love this game, there are alternate endings. If he didn't get the knife something different would've happened. I am not going to spoil it, but if anyone wants to watch the different ending it is on Toby Turners channel (Tobygames)
It's quite funny to know that during the whole game you're playing the evil witch in Viola's body and that no matter what you do Viola will die, even if the witch is killed. If you manage to finish the game with no saves ( don't even yalk with the cat ) the final diary is different and far more interesting and the true nature of the cat is shown. SPOILER WARNING : The cat is a demon wich eats humans'souls, the witch helps him to kill people and he gave her a spell to trade bodies ( to cure her sickness ) but this spell need a trust bond with its target that's why Ellen became Viola's friend. After cutting her own legs she switched body with Viola then give her a medecine to avoid her to scream in agony. Then Ellen escaped the house but was blocked by the roses because Viola used the witch's magic trying to stop her. There are some others secrets in the game.
I have some questions. Could someone please answer them? Thank you. 1) Why did Ellen ( Viola ) go back in the house after switching bodies? 2) If the real Viola ( so the one in the body of Ellen ) had the power to take over the house, why did she put the notes to help Ellen? 3) Why did viola ( The real one ) saved Ellen when she was attacked. 4) If Ellen cut off her legs, why did she still had them before? When she left the house ( so in the beginning of the game ( Ellen said that she cut off her legs.
MintSodaPop Nope, look at most of the game overs you get in that game... they generally end in death, not getting trapped. There is little room to think Viola was trying to do anything but kill Ellen. Viola was so scared for her father, that she was willing to kill her body before letting Ellen walk off with it to do god knows what with it in the normal world, and knew at this point she was a ruthless killer, meaning her father was probably not safe.
1) She had nowhere else to go. But there's another ending that was added where she waits outside the house for an hour (real time) and the way out gets cleared again. 2) It wasn't Viola who put the notes to help Ellen, it was the house itself helping her because it knew who it's true master was. 3) Viola didn't want Ellen killed because that would result in her losing the change to get her body back. But I suppose in some cases Viola would rather have had Ellen killed than let her get away with what she did and take her father. 4) Perhaps the "Ellen" that did have legs was just a spell of some sort, I don't know.
The reason Ellen cuts off her legs, because she wanted to keep Viola's body, she thought it would be better to silence her, as to let her bleed to death. Then, to make her death quicker, she gave Viola medicine to avoid her to try to speak if anyone has found her in the house. Mainly, to put it off, Ellen wanted Viola to die, in Ellen's body, to keep her body to herself.
1) The real Viola, using Ellen's magic, blocked out the only escape route with a huge barrier of impenetrable roses. Knowing there is medicine to kill those roses inside the house, Ellen is forced to go back there and retrieve it. 2) Those notes are actually written by the house itself! That's why Ellen says "After all, it's my house, yes? It wouldn't be killing me anytime soon. I was guided by that house all the way. So I was ensured to escape." 3) If Ellen died, Viola wouldn't be able to get her body back. 4) Are you talking about the ghostly apparitions of Ellen you see walking inside the house? I'm not entirely sure why they appear. Maybe it's a flashback?
When I played this game and got the twist ending, I was really suprised. When I watched Cry play it afterwards, as soon as he got shocked, I got shocked again aswell. He got so deep into the game and ended up dragging me with him. Just goes to show how amazing Cry is.
Even 8 years later I still find this to probably be my d’avoir it’s game. There’s so much story for it despite it being such a small game and there’s even 2 books you can read that explain the entirety of Ellen’s diary. There’s so much to this game and it’s so underrated these days
Same this game has great history potential, that is sadly underrated even with all the youtube videos about it. Personally i would like a sequel, we already have a prequel so why not?
so basically the witch possessed Viola with a deal which the witch promised only for a day, but the witch dooped her over and gave her a fucked up almost dead body and now she's dying and SHE'S DED
EnderplaysGaming Well, by calling it the "twisted" ending, I felt like you were implying the other ending wasn't twisted, but the fact remains, that the ending is still the same, the girl's body was still taken, you're just never blatantly told
I know I'll get alot of hate for this but it's jsut my opinion. Although what Ellen did was cruel and especially how she went about doing but she had a cruel childhood and people will do anything to survive and I kind of understand why she did what she did, she just wanted a father who loved her. Don't get me wrong what she did was horrid but I'm just putting it out there that she had reasons.
=o Oh man, what a twist! But man.....that ending..... So *incredibly* sad...gaah....this ending is going to stick with me for a good long while. It's just feels on top of feels when the father unknowingly kills his own daughter. Damn it. Wow.
Ironic that the cat was actually never on your side at all. Based on unused content in the game, the car was a demon that gave Ellen the house in the first place in return for souls. Fucked up :/
Really I’d say the message of the story, such as it exists, is to choose your friends wisely. The story, when you think about it, reads a lot like a cautionary fairy tale warning children about the dangers of befriending a witch.
I believe the moral of the story is that tiger parenting = good. After all, children who are under constant pressure to perform don't have the emotional capacity to feel pity towards others, and they won't incite excessive jealousy in their peers.
I uncontrollably burst into tears every time I watch this ending. But when a heart wrenching plot twist like this is paired up with Cry's voice... damn. Feels. Everywhere.
I think Cry went into shock when he finally put the pieces back together.... *SPOILER* Cry... the cat's a demon, I'm really sorry to say, though he's pretty freaking cool.
I think the funny story about the hunter and his dog is Viola's Father and I also would like to know about the other endings like where you don't grab the Ellen's Knife or where you don't save at any time in the game. Cry I loved this playthrough! And could you try a game called OutCast? It's really nice and I played it myself. Love you all!
actually the black cat is a demon who made this poor ellen a witch. you can see the story of ellen in the witch's house wiki or read this book which my be available to buy online- "the witch's house: diary of ellen"
Didn't anyone notice that the "funny story" in the beginning is actually funny because it also shows the unknowing killing of a precious "thing" such as Viola compared to the dog.
An excellent game! Too many games miss the opportunity to craft beautifully written and surprising endings like this one. The world is not a super happy place, the hero does not always win!
I haven't seen anyone comment on how the hunter in the "funny" story where he kills his own dog after a misunderstanding and in the end the father who happens to be a hunter, unknowingly killed his own daughter are connected.
Jorge Piña and the fact that the dog couldn’t explain (bc it’s a dog duh) and viola couldn’t explain bc she could speak
The chair laughs at the end and Ellen laughs after Viola's killed
Pls WaLuigi Dom Me Ellen is a chair confirmed
@@dollienan I agree with the chair too, it was pretty funny
In one of the witch's house books in the hunter in that story Viola's father, but then it was his home sick wife, Viola's mom that die from her illness. The dog was their dog that had stolen stuff before but then it was just their stuff home, that's why the father got tired of the dog and now it stole someone else stuff. Viola was 1 years old at the time so she don't remember they even had a dog though.
Okay, let's look at this from the bright side. Every time Cry died during the playthrough, we got a happy ending where Viola got her body back.
Lol no, Viola has zero luck, every time Ellen (in Viola's body) die the cat (demon) brings her back to life because he wants the contract to be fulfilled. The secret ending explains it.
Rham A Dude.... Duuuuude.....
I got the secret ending, but now the "cat" words make more sense to me.
Isidro González
You deserve a medal for getting the secret ending
Was really hard, tho... and I wouldn't of figured it out if I didnt look for all the possible endings there are to see if the one i got was a bad one (the same Cry gets); been doing it since Ib :P
Nop, at one point, The real Viola help us not dying, Because she wants to keep her body in 1 piece. So when you die, the real viola will die soon after.

I cried at the end. To have a father unknowingly kill his own daughter...that's too horrible.
Same :'(
Oh, the irony! But lay off the dramatic voice Cry.
Whelp that's what I get for reading the comments before watching the video
Connor Dooley Excuse me? You're telling him to lay off his dramatic voice? That's his specialty! You can't hold him back! That's how he rolls.
I didn't cry. But I got really freaking confused.
So the story in the beginning about the hunter and his dog was massive foreshadowing?
Oh my god!!! You just made me notice that...Thankyou!!!!
"Viola, you are a badass!" - *Giggles* - "Wait WHAT?" - *Bursts out into lougher*
That’s my reaction LOL
Cry: She didn't get what she wanted and that's what's important right?
Me: *evilly smiles*
Omg, at 23:33 Viola was trying to say "father" and "daddy." She cried out for her dad and then he killed her! That's the saddest thing I've ever seen! D,:
look up Judith barsi
+Ashley H I know right. first time I realized that I cried for about twenty minutes. :(
That was really fucked up what she did what a bitch
the dad killed his own child rpg and actors and stuff are fucked up in the head
Also worthy of note: In the other ending (which isn't much different than this one), Viola's dad will tell her to stand back because he was going to shoot. The real Viola trapped in Ellen's body will back away, believing he was talking to her... :(
You know what? Even after reading Ellen's diary, seeing her story and all of the terrible things that happened to her, I still feel no sympathy for her whatsoever, and hate her for literally taking Viola's life. Ellen may have just wanted to be loved, but there's no forgiving this; taking someone's body and leaving them to suffer and have their soul taken by a demon when they die. i agree, Ellen can go to hell.
Damn straight!
CatlynW97 i wish viola could talk and at the end say father and then idk violas dad realizes thats terrible eding :(

***** That's true. A lot of things wouldn't have went down if it weren't for that cat. Of course, there's always the possibility that things could have turned out worse, too.
Believe me, Cry. That´s NOT a good cat!
Yeah, if you get the no-save end, HE IS NOT A GOOD CAT. REALLY.
Kazo ku what it is?
damaris narvaez jimenez
You get the true thing behind...
The cat is the creator of all the thing that happen.
He's a demon... :(
There's a little trick to this game: if you go through the whole game WITHOUT saving (which is more or less easy the second time), in the 'don't be distraughted' room you can move freely and inspect the shelves, and then you get much more information about the witch's story.

Cool, right?
+anapitu72 Well the eternal part of me is a little off. The demon's deal was to find a cure for her illness, which, in this case, a body switch.
+anapitu72 it says this in the novel. Its the back story of it all!
Mangel lovelast what? novel? is there a novel of this game??
There is look it up! It came out before the game!
+Mangel lovelast vgperson.tumblr.com/post/65803385327/the-witchs-house-the-diary-of-ellen-chapter-1
poor cry never knew the cat was a demon
:You’re a good cat…
i love seeing how people react to the true ending xD
but in all seriousness though, it is pretty sad
like
you were the bad guy, the witch, the entire time and you helped her escape
and when people first play the game they don't even know
As depressing as it is, the ending is very well-written. Shymalan wishes he could've written something like this.
"DONT SQUISH THE CAT YOU F*CKING B*TCH" XD
i laughed so much at that too omg
+SoundMaster251 I was sad about the cat being dead but then he said that and I cracked up
+That Weird Kitten I was reading this comment just as he said that XD
"Cat.....I'm sorry man....."squishes it again"...DESCHEV.....!"
The cat was technically dead to begin with. It's corpse was animate because a demon was controlling it. All this time he was an evil spirit.
Death Count: 10
Total/Final Count: 35
Good job Cry :) only died 35 times *clap clap*
The secret ending was so sad!!! π^π
Ryou Bakura I appreciate you. Thanks for keeping track. ^_^
anyone else notice viola's avatar smiling ever so slightly during the ending when ellen's talking to viola?
She actually does smile. Nice catch. Her mouth grows vaguely longer when her true identity is revealed.
Cry: "Viola your a badass!"
A couple minutes in
Cry: "O_O"
Ok here is a thought...
Remember toward the beginning of the game when you hear the story about a hunter who thinks that his dog robbed someone so he shot it?
MAYBE Viola's dad is that same hunter and guess what?...
HE MADE THE SAME MISTAKE!! He shot Viola on accident because he thought she was a monster when she was the good one (just like the dog was innocent) so that's my theory...
What do you think?
+Sophia Moore (CinamonRollSophia) Well holy shit
***** X'DD
This adds another level of depressing to the story.
I had never even thought of that before. That's such a cool thought.
Jude The King Right? I really puts things in perspective :)
OMG...that was like a hint to the true ending...
This game's ending always blows me away, no matter how many times I watch it. Fantastic game :) I also really love the music.
For whatever reason, I love how Cry's voice just shifts from triumphant to shocked. ouo;;
But man, what an ending. ;-;
God, Cry's reaction. He was so confused.
i loves cry reaction to the end better then the other youtubers
SHE LAUGHED WHEN SHE DIED SOMEBODY CALL THE ARMY, THE C.I.A, THE POLICE, THAT REALLY STRONG GUY OVER THERE, NO THIS CANNOT BE TOLERATED!!!!
Now who's gonna tell him the cat was a demon too?
This ending is so wonderful but horrible at the same time. It's so sad. I however like to believe Ellen got caught by Viola in the chase and she got her body back.
Sadly not. As others said, the spell requires both participants to be willing.
Evnyofdeath Wait it was a spell
Themineccraftkid the is things through the game hinting about it. But I dont think Cry unlocked the secrets well... some of them.
@@Evnyofdeath and demon would just counter it
The way Viola was trying to say "father" and "daddy". I'm just gonna go cry in a lonely little corner.
There really needs to be a 40 minute one-shot anime episode of this game.
That would be the greatest thing ever, someone please do this.
THISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHIS!
Yea and put it under horror
As sad as this ending is, it's fantastic at the same time. I feel the same way about this ending as I do about the ending of Se7en. Dark, horrible and shocking, yes. But does it make sense as well as being all of the above? Indeed. Easily one of the best RPG Maker games out there.
***** My personal favourite is To The Moon. Also I could tell your favourite from a mile off ;D
Ib is easily one of the best games I have ever played. It engages and frightens you in fantastic ways.
And yeah, I just love To The Moon's story. Something that makes me emotionally attached to pixels is great in my book.
***** Very true, cannot wait for the follow up! It's a shame that Ib never got a spiritual successor :/
2016 and i still mad about this ending
kim seulgi it's almost 2018 and I'm still mad about this ending
Eh It is 2018 and I’m still mad about the ending.
I will always be mad about this ending
2019 and i’m still mad about this ending
2019 and I still wanna see this bitch to get her karma
4:05 Well at least the tadpoles could be with their father now.
THE ENDING. JESUS FUCK I AM SPEECHLESS WTF?
Jesus fuck?
What kind of ending was that?...Good god that's horrible!
The thing is the ending cry got that is the TRUE ending also called the good ending pretty messed up………………
Gamer Luna If that is the "Good" Ending, i don't want to see the others
.
I havnt seen all the outheres (I think there's only two endings) but the other was the same ending but the player not knowing that the wich had taken viola so you think the which is defeted even though you are the wich ( its kinda confusing)
*Others,Witch* Well according to the wiki there are 3. Might be worth having a go at the game to discover them yourself. I know i will.
I'm gonna do that I'm interested in that 3rd ending and *blame auto correct*
I'm not crying but I'm dying inside which I think is worse because I'm not letting my emotions pour out of me in forms of tears. I can't bring myself to cry but it's so sad.
Can't bring yourself to cry.. or... can't bring yourself to Cry..?
Sorry.
I'm a mean person :( Won't do it again.
finished this walkthrough again
and man the ending still makes me so sad (I really adore Cry's Let's Plays, feels so comforting to watch)
13:55 "DONT SQUISH THE CAT, YOU FUCKING BITCH" Am I the only one who laughed my ass off over this?
lol I laughed meniacly because if you got the secret ending you would know that fucking demon deserved it
"Don't squish the cat you fucking bitch"
i love him so much
Rocio Rivas in fact, that cat is the demon. If you know what that cat actually is, u will hate it.... There are still 2 more 'endings' to know the true story.
Liu Ben ok then, thanks for the information :)
Rocio Rivas np;)
But the body wasn't, the bag of cats' corpses weren't, either
Two years later, and I STILL hate this ending...
i will never not hate it
holy fuck.
I know this is old, but I've been looking for this kind of game forever - where you realize you've been playing the villain all along.
I never thought the witch's house would be like that. holy shit I'm glad I watched that. thank you for playing.
When Viola accidentally stepped on the dead cat. "Don't squish the cat, you fucking bitch!"
Lmfao xD
The "you're gone, we're both gone," gets me every time. ;;
she was trying to called out to her father, to her daddy.... :'( dammit
The ending was so sad I'm ready to go drown myself in a pool of my tears thank you very much I appreciated that.
"No. Damn you. Damn you to hell."
-Famous last words?
24:44 when he said that I burst into tears because 1. this game was sad and 2. he (almost) sounded heart broken
this was the first playthrough i ever watched cry do. years later the witch's house is still one of the best games i've ever seen.
Well, putting it in perspective, you were Ellen the whole time. Since the game started, you were playing as Ellen, not Viola.
THAT LITTLE ASS-BUCKET GIGGLED AT THE END
DID YOU SEE THAT?!
ELLEN GIGGLED AT THE END
I love that door puzzle, and I commend Cry for attempting it.
Bottom-Right is a constant number while assuming that the remaining is an unknown number.
Fascinating puzzle, indeed.
i died laughing at the part when cry put on the shoes
That change of mood from victory to what the fuck?!
I literally cried for 3 times every time I watched this... Cry’s voice and emotions... Man....
*dead from all the feels*
I had a feeling that would happen, not that my head would fall off and my body would prance away, but yeah I figured that would happen. BEST QUOTE EVER! Also why did you kill the tadpoles? YOU MONSTER!
4:20 freaked the crap out of me.... T.T
At the end, I was thinking- Watch, when the father goes to Heaven (or other) she'll be waiting and he'll wonder why she's there and she'll tell him everything and he'll feel SOOO bad.
This is so disturbing and sad ... poor Viola.
One of the best game endings I've seen so far, and yet another Cry's great playthrough
But Viola ended up retaining some of the magic and tried to stop Ellen, hence the reason you couldn't leave
the poison was after
I love this game, there are alternate endings. If he didn't get the knife something different would've happened. I am not going to spoil it, but if anyone wants to watch the different ending it is on Toby Turners channel (Tobygames)
It's the same ending but with less explanation to the plot. No matter which ending you get, Viola will always die in Ellen's body while Ellen survives
Same ending, just without explanation..ignorance is bliss, perhaps
Theres an alternative ending to save Violas soul. "open when the house returns to normal."
She dies, and the cat takes her soul. No good end for her...
@@enigmaticlight3033 !!!!! Aw seriously? Fuuuuuck ;___; I was almost so relieved for a second...
Thought it had a knife in it. Ellens knife.
I watched these videos over and over , i love it when its you who play it cry, more fun and i enjoy it. Thanks for all the videos , keep doing it :D !
SPOILER WARNING :
The cat is a demon wich eats humans'souls, the witch helps him to kill people and he gave her a spell to trade bodies ( to cure her sickness ) but this spell need a trust bond with its target that's why Ellen became Viola's friend. After cutting her own legs she switched body with Viola then give her a medecine to avoid her to scream in agony. Then Ellen escaped the house but was blocked by the roses because Viola used the witch's magic trying to stop her. There are some others secrets in the game.
hahahaaa.... well i'm never trusting anyone ever again.
3) Viola wouldn't want to KILL Ellen - that would destroy her body. She had to trap Ellen and switch again.
So I was ensured to escape."
3) If Ellen died, Viola wouldn't be able to get her body back.
I remember watching this a few months back.. Still the best (yet horrible) ending I've ever watched in a video game
i had 9 heart attacks watchin this seres
"DON'T SQUISH THE CAT YOU *FUCKING* BITCH"
holy christ cry
Even 8 years later I still find this to probably be my d’avoir it’s game. There’s so much story for it despite it being such a small game and there’s even 2 books you can read that explain the entirety of Ellen’s diary. There’s so much to this game and it’s so underrated these days
Same this game has great history potential, that is sadly underrated even with all the youtube videos about it. Personally i would like a sequel, we already have a prequel so why not?
Wow. This game is absolutely harsh till the very end. Appropriate, I suppose.
so basically the witch possessed Viola with a deal which the witch promised only for a day, but the witch dooped her over and gave her a fucked up almost dead body and now she's dying and SHE'S DED
and in she cut of the legs of her own body and took her eyes....
Mia boopy doopy yep. cant trust those god damn witches.
Nope
poor cry, he's is in shock after that :
The way Cry gets upset over the deceased black cat breaks my heart a little bit.
19:15 "Another day for you, Viola." LOL no.
24:45 "You're a good cat." LOL also no.
No body gets it! When you get Ellen's knife you get the twisted ending and Viola (who is trapped inside Ellen's body) try's to say "Father"!
//Raises hand// I get it!! ^-^
The ending isn't twisted, it is just an ending with more exposition
+LinkSlayer64 That's why its called A TWISTED ENDING!! BECAUSE SOMEONE DIES AND THE OTHER ONE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS!! ITS SICK!
=o
Oh man, what a twist!
But man.....that ending.....
So *incredibly* sad...gaah....this ending is going to stick with me for a good long while. It's just feels on top of feels when the father unknowingly kills his own daughter.
Damn it. Wow.
I really like the story of the witch's house. It's so depressing, yet absolutely brilliant!!
Cry you know the cat was a demon...right?
Ironic that the cat was actually never on your side at all. Based on unused content in the game, the car was a demon that gave Ellen the house in the first place in return for souls. Fucked up :/
Ah, but you were Ellen the whole game, so the cat was on your side.
In other words you can't be too nice to people because this will happen :(
Really I’d say the message of the story, such as it exists, is to choose your friends wisely.
But when a heart wrenching plot twist like this is paired up with Cry's voice... damn.
Feels. Everywhere.
1:52
"The of making panties"
LOL
I think Cry went into shock when he finally put the pieces back together....
*SPOILER* Cry... the cat's a demon, I'm really sorry to say, though he's pretty freaking cool.
19:24 Viola has no eyes
I think the funny story about the hunter and his dog is Viola's Father and I also would like to know about the other endings like where you don't grab the Ellen's Knife or where you don't save at any time in the game. Cry I loved this playthrough! And could you try a game called OutCast? It's really nice and I played it myself. Love you all!
XD I love seeing peoples reactions to the ending!
After seeing the end, I felt *knife penetrates my heart* T^T poor Viola. *Tears, pity*
So did I, I was on the verge of tears
actually the black cat is a demon who made this poor ellen a witch. you can see the story of ellen in the witch's house wiki or read this book which my be available to buy online- "the witch's house: diary of ellen"
Didn't anyone notice that the "funny story" in the beginning is actually funny because it also shows the unknowing killing of a precious "thing" such as Viola compared to the dog.
That's some f-ed up shit. Damn. #datplottwisttho
oh cry in cringe at the end its so sad when he finds out
The ending pisses me off every time ;__;
An excellent game! Too many games miss the opportunity to craft beautifully written and surprising endings like this one. The world is not a super happy place, the hero does not always win!
2018 and still pissed about this ending
Same...
i love his laugh sounds so evil lol ^_^
Bad end! Bad, bad, bad end! Too sad...
True end true end true end sad but true.
The creator is quite the genius
***** I know it's true and yes quite a good idea; nice plot twist. But it's so sad.
Lilah Holly Agreed, when I first watched this I almost broke into tears...Or maybe I did it's a long time ago...Whatever, have a nice day ^^
***** Same here. It's almost better not knowing. You too! ^w^
Lilah Holly
^^
The top-left, bottom-left puzzle has to be one of if not the hardest puzzle I have seen in all of gaming.
