Great help. My watch's band fell off. I had to fix it in school without any tools but still managed to do it. Couldn't do it without this video thanks.
Thank you HC WONG. Yes for those of us who are right handed install the band opposite of how it is shown in the Video. I had just completed one side of the metal watch band installation and wondered if I had it on the correct side. Then after watching the video again was about to undo my work and saw your comment.
Thank you for the video. I just had to replace my bracelet and I was having trouble with the end links. After watching your tutorial I was able to install the bracelet on the watch after a few tries.
Hey guys-Gals, just wanted to say that these new videos have improved greatly over the previous videos. You replied to my comments before on using the wrong size bands in your demonstrations, so I wanted to let you know these videos are looking great and much more useful to people. I continue to purchase a lot of my material for my watch repair shop from Esslinger. Thanks again! JM
Excellent ! I was struggling for an hour trying to put back a bracelet with end pieces, without any success, and decided that I better go to RUclips and check for tips. This video was very helpful, made me not so dainty as well, and I succeeded in 5 to 10 minutes. It did seem like the lugs will be scratched, but it didn't, and my watch finish is bead blasted, very prone to scratches. The comment about putting some tape would be sensible though, but I didn't read the comments before I did it :)
My method was crude. However, the watch I was working on was a little scratched, but working fine and in overall good shape! This looks like it can be difficult. I was very careful, and it took a while, but I succeeded! I was using just needle nose pliers, and my fingers. I have an old radium-226 lumed watch, and it's pretty radioactive compared to other watches, but I've wanted to wear it, but it had no band. Luckily, I found some broken watches someone gave me (none are radioactive, unfortunately for me) and took the leather band off of one. I managed to install the band on my 1950s _"Маяк" - 16 Камней - Сделано в СССР ("Lighthouse" - 16 Stones - Made in USSR)_ watch. It looks nice with my other radium-226 lumed watches! And now I can wear it! I collect radioactive sources and antiques! It's such a great hobby! Always get yourself a Geiger-Müller counter first!
Yup - I try and cover them with small strips of Sellotape or painters' masking tape otherwise if the end pieces aren't an exact match (i.e. poorly fitting) they don't scratch the hell (too much) out of the lugs. Don't use a thick tape though otherwise that might well cause a difficult task to become a nigh on impossible one.
Good tutorial, unfortunarely I give up after 3 hours, I could manage to remove one end piece somehow but not the other, I remove one end of the spring bar from the hole but it's still stuck against the case... I'm losing my mind
Does anybody know the title of the soundtrack? I have relatives coming for dinner and I want to drive them insane playing this on repeat (nice video BTW, useful in multiple ways...).
Instead of a spring bar tool you can also use a jeweler's screw driver. This helped me because they are smaller and can fit in to put pressure on spring bar.
He forgot to mention: watch bands vary in width dimensions (typically 19-24mm). You need to research what the original watch band width (where it meets the watch case) is and find an appropriate replacement.
Thanks a lot for this video. I have a watch which I got as a gift but it fell from my hand and broke. Without the help of Allah and your tutorial I don't know what would I have done.
Nice tutorial! One important thing should be added for the young and unlearned: Children, always practice on Jamis watches(or Invicta), like the man in this video, NEVER on a real Rolex Submariner! James Bond will appreciate.
after all this time i have finally found one video that saved me from wearing the most brightest band that was ever saw by any men:))always wanted to change that band at my watch...
I have a strong aversion to watches that have end-pieces. They can get sloppy with wear, easy to lose if the spring bar breaks and most designs cause the bracelet tension to be applied near to the center of the spring bars.
We have an article that shows the step by step procedure of replacing curved end watch bands - Search online for "HOW TO REPLACE A METAL WATCH BAND - SPRING BAR STYLE WITH END PIECES". Thanks!
Ramuk, we have additional videos and articles available on other types of metal watch band repair. Where are you having troubles, maybe I could send you in a better direction with some additional instructions.
I have a Citizen AT8124-83E that has a metal bracelet. I'm not sure if I can replace the bracelet with a nato/zulu strap. Does anybody know if it's possible? I can email you a picture of the back if you need it.
I really really like my watch but the stainless steel is causing me to a bruise because it’s rusted and I’m just eager to try and remove if it doesn’t work ; well let’s just say I’ll be very sad .
I just followed this tutorial and replaced my metal band with a leather one from a dead watch i had laying around, i'd assume it would work with a rubber strap as well.
There's one kind of tool that releases or compresses both sides of the spring bar at once. It should be very useful for watchbands with ends, especially those with solid ends, which are really tricky to install while trying to avoid damaging watch and spring bars at the same time...
Great help. My watch's band fell off. I had to fix it in school without any tools but still managed to do it. Couldn't do it without this video thanks.
Same situation bro this man helped me fromm parents scolding

you cant imagine how your video, which has now 9 years old , helped me SO MUCH today !
thank you thank you thank you !
This video answered all my questions, and also answered questions I didn’t even know I had. Perfect.

I love radioactive stuff too. I even wanted to move to Chernobyl but the war came so I postponed it.

Step 5... be sure to scratch the lugs as much as possible....

😂😂😂😂 so true !

Thank you for the video. Would love to see one for solid end links. :)
You just saved me so much stress, thank you!
Loved the format of this video!
I was fighting with this for almost an hour. Thanks for saving me :-D
Great video - the manager at the Invicta store had no idea if the bands could even be removed lol.🤦♂️
Thank you very much dear 💕. Love from india
I just fixed a watch because of this tutorial , thank u so mucu.
Just about to do it.... Thanks for the step by step guide.
Good tutorial, unfortunarely I give up after 3 hours, I could manage to remove one end piece somehow but not the other, I remove one end of the spring bar from the hole but it's still stuck against the case... I'm losing my mind
Thanks so much. It took longer than you but I got the job done on a Tag Heuer 2000 auto
For anyone who doesn't have the spring bar tool ,I was able to push it down with a needle, its just a little more difficult
Does anybody know the title of the soundtrack? I have relatives coming for dinner and I want to drive them insane playing this on repeat (nice video BTW, useful in multiple ways...).
Live it, Mark Jones. Hope you have a good time.
thanks soo much...saved me a trip to the mall and $$...took me less than 2 minutes
+TheBawssThomas ikr ordered a new mesh band now i can install it myself
Thank you. I did it because of you.
Good tutorial !
Just managed to get off and back on my vintage's bracelet, and it was an epic battle I wouldn't have won without the video ! ^^
Very clear and helpful.
Thanks Mate, I'm looking at a watch with steel bracelet which I hate but now I know I can replace it with a NATO.
This helped; I just changed bracelet on my watch after watching video. Thanks for help!
Very Helpful, try it out once you receive your first watch
Thanks. I was going nuts with the end links.
Instead of a spring bar tool you can also use a jeweler's screw driver. This helped me because they are smaller and can fit in to put pressure on spring bar.
Thank you so much
That was really very helpful 👍🏼
Thanks very much i can do it now never knew it was so easy.
Thank you so much 👍👍👍
Beautifully made tutorial. Great clear instruction, thanks!
He forgot to mention: watch bands vary in width dimensions (typically 19-24mm). You need to research what the original watch band width (where it meets the watch case) is and find an appropriate replacement.
Thanks, good points to remember.
People new to this often play a fun little game, and see how far they can shoot the spring-bar across the room.
Thanks a lot for this video. I have a watch which I got as a gift but it fell from my hand and broke. Without the help of Allah and your tutorial I don't know what would I have done.
Big help, thanks!
Very helpful. Thank you!
I only broke down crying twice, that has to be a world record
Genial, gracias!
Thanks I found this very helpful
Mille merci 🙏🏻
and you can replace the bands with leather ones right?
Thank you much for the tutorial...
I give up
never give up, make your dreams come true
me too I give up.

excellent video
Thanks, I made the tool and did it ...👍
Thanks, That helped. I watched the video then put 'leather' band on my new watch. Easy.
Why the hell does the audio keep cutting out? Is it just me or is something wrong with the audio of this video?
Thank youuu soo much for this video...
Oh that metal thing was called an end piece? What is it exactly called? Mine is actually wiggling even though I tried adjusting it twice with a plier
Thank you
Spoiler: it's a huge pain in the ass
I agree whole heartedly! Took like 30 minutes to pry those clasps off.
yup
Huge understatement!
Can you use anything for a parts tray? I was thinking of using a bowl.
Awesome thank you so much
where can you get those end pieces?
What if the watch is originally leather? If i buy a replacement, Will it have an end piece?
Be sure to release the compressed springbar and launch it across the room, never to be seen again. Repeat as often as necessary
Thanks
The grooves in the spring bars are worn out, so spring bar tool is useless in my case, how do I remove the spring bars now
He installed the band in wrong position !
Maybe he is left-handed LOL :P
Thank you!
hi, do all end pieces have the same arc length?
will bands made for seiko xxx fit seiko xyx assuming they have the same width?
He makes it appear like its easy...
Is it possible to replace the metal band to silicone band ??
i dont have that tool to remove and i need it replace now, is there anything else u can use ?
Thanks JM, we are always interested in what people have to say. Thanks for watching and please continue with any feedback and comments.
very helpful
oh, i see what i'm doing wrong
1 I'm using a butter knife 2 I put the thingies next to the watch on backwards. Thank-you, very helpful.
Nice
Unfortunately, I don't have that spring bar tool.... :( Are there any alternatives?
Nope, AFAIK. Even with the right tool it can get difficult on older watches, so I can't imagine it otherwise.
Nice tutorial!
One important thing should be added for the young and unlearned:
Children, always practice on Jamis watches(or Invicta), like the man in this video,
NEVER on a real Rolex Submariner!
James Bond will appreciate.
Im sorry i dont wanna scratch my 100$ invicta.
One end came out super easy, the other end took me 15 minutes 😂
With hollow endlinks its pretty easy, but if you got solid, it's a nightmare
When I order a watch band with endpieces
How do I know how wide the band has to be?
Where do I measure
after all this time i have finally found one video that saved me from wearing the most brightest band that was ever saw by any men:))always wanted to change that band at my watch...
How to adjust the curved end? Since I see that it is loose in the video (same as in my watches).
Where is a good place to get replacement Bulova Marine a Star replacement bands?
I have a strong aversion to watches that have end-pieces. They can get sloppy with wear, easy to lose if the spring bar breaks and most designs cause the bracelet tension to be applied near to the center of the spring bars.
Do you have a video that has a curved end piece
How to put it back on
Can i just use a small screwdriver??
We have an article that shows the step by step procedure of replacing curved end watch bands - Search online for "HOW TO REPLACE A METAL WATCH BAND - SPRING BAR STYLE WITH END PIECES". Thanks!
Ramuk, we have additional videos and articles available on other types of metal watch band repair. Where are you having troubles, maybe I could send you in a better direction with some additional instructions.
which watch is that
How to join with your company please suggest I want to be learnt New things
What if you took the clasp off
I have a Citizen AT8124-83E that has a metal bracelet. I'm not sure if I can replace the bracelet with a nato/zulu strap. Does anybody know if it's possible? I can email you a picture of the back if you need it.
How do you find out the width of the end piece required
theyre alll the same
Other tools you'll need is a hammer, vice grips and a set of pliers.
Step 11 Seo absolutely doesn’t want you to remove a band bracelet
I really really like my watch but the stainless steel is causing me to a bruise because it’s rusted and I’m just eager to try and remove if it doesn’t work ; well let’s just say I’ll be very sad .
So if it doesn't have an end piece I'm screwed?
...Or just pay your local watch dealer $10 to do it for you.
Well, if you like to change out straps on your watch that's gonna be expensive mate
My fingers are ruined, but I have not yet given up hope.
HC Wong is right...you might want to edit this video because the buckle on both the old and the new bracelets is facing the wrong way :P
She got nice hands.
BatBat Yes, you do have nice hands! 😉
I ratther take my watch to watch shop and have my watch chain replacement
i can't get my spring bars to align into the tiny hole on on side
I have a question. I have a watch that has a stainless steel bracelet. My question is, can i replace it with a rubber bracelet?? Thanks
I just followed this tutorial and replaced my metal band with a leather one from a dead watch i had laying around, i'd assume it would work with a rubber strap as well.
CH3FxEXcELL3NcE Can you post the link please, it will help me alot
I meant that i used this video. Putting the leather one on is a lot easier than taking the metal one off.
You do the exact same thing as in the video but you skip putting the end piece and just slid the spring bar through the rubber band and put it in
great video plz i realy need a video how to put shugar in my coffee.plz do a video.i cant change my band because i dont have a parts tray.

Thanks! Good point.. I think this is the tool that you are talking about www.esslinger.com/horofix-watch-bracelet-springbar-pliers-band-tool/
+Esslinger and Company Yes it is! though, it's a bit pricey. On the other hand, any good tool is priceless!
