This is really great. I had the distinct honor and pleasure working as a grip on a film for Michael Kenner years ago. I thought I knew so much about being a grip. He taught me much more. As do all grips. Observing and learning how others work the craft is part of the whole deal and makes one a better grip. And it adds to the camaraderie within the department.
I am currently watching every film school video with the name "Mark Vargo" on it and I am hooked! So much useful information laid out so simply and easy to understand. Thank you!
This was a very good explanation of what a grip does. There is a lot more that this film didn't cover but this is the gist of it. Good job. And that is coming from a guy who has been a Hollywood grip over 20 years now ;)
Mark, I just discovered your videos. They are very informative and so well done. Much better than almost anything else out there. Keep the video's coming. Thanks.
