Thank you for timing it to how it plays In the game “and you…” and the guitar starts picking up was so effective in making me feel so many emotions. I know folks prefer the new ending but I still think the OG ending fits more and is more effective to me. But thank you
Mortal, you have served your purpose. Now face your end. I am the All-Consuming Void. What can one mote of golden light illuminate within the abyss? Countless Stars, Countless Worlds, Countless Lives. All fell to me. All brought to nothing. All the teeming chaos of creation. Brought to order, to neutrality, to nothing. I saw your mind as you ran through my prison. You have fought machines and gods. They were mighty? They were finite. I am infinite. I am nothing. You struggle as so many has done before. You will be consumed like all of those before you. I saw your mind. Your courage never wavered. Why? Arrogance ? Ignorance? Stupidity? I was contained once. Once. Is that why? My captors bent time and space. My captors built a whole reality to contain me. My captors burned their souls away to fuel their engines. And you..? You glitter. You fly about me like a gnat. I am inevitable. I cannot be denied. You strike this incarnation with all your might. It changes nothing. You are not brave. You are not victorious. No matter what form I take. . . *THE END COMES FOR YOU ALL.*
THEORY TIME! So, we got two endings right? With two VASTLY different outcomes! This brings up the all-important question: which is canon? Considering that the original was, well, the original, it would make sense for that to be canon. Then again, why make a full new ending for nothing? Before I go on, here's what each ending means for the rest of the series. Ending One (ORIGINAL): Sage dies but is reactivated by Eggman after he recovers her code from Cyber Space. This shows how far Eggman's love for Sage goes, as he usually tends to leave his creations rotting in a dumpster for a while until he eventually needs them again (like leaving Metal Sonic on Stardust Speedway or in the woods for literal months). This also means that Sonic and his friends likely think Sage is gone. It's also unknown if Sage still has a physical body. (And no, she was never a hologram. The raindrops at the end of the game visibly bounce off of her, showing that her body is real.) Ending Two (FINAL HORIZON): Sage lives and goes home with Eggman. No issues or anything. Sonic and his friends know she is still alive and that they have a new hyper-intelligent threat to worry about that could also be an ally in case of any more overpowered gods showing up. So, which one is canon? I personally think that BOTH are canon! How so? Well, Sage is known for her simulation running. She said that all of her simulations were without Sonic due to Eggman not authorizing him as part of the plan, in which all results led to 0% survival. So what if after Sonic was added to the equation, Sage decided to run a simulation? And what if she saw... the first ending? When I started Final Horizon, the first think I thought was, "Why does Sage look so nervous all of the sudden?" What if the original ending is just a simulation run by Sage? What if she, now much more confident of victory, ran a new simulation where instead of seeing victory, she heard this long, demoralizing speech given by the End and then watched as she sacrificed herself to save a family she never got to meet? And what if the post credit scene where she is saved by Eggman is just that little bit of hope given to her by the love between her and her father? I mean, she and Sonic had that whole conversation of love being able to go beyond expectations and bring forth something amazing in the end. Anyways, upon seeing this, Sage quickly told Eggman that the Chaos Emeralds alone weren't going to be enough, so they both went and told Sonic the new plan. One more thing I want to add from that initial Final Horizon cutscene is that Sage said specifically in her final plan that "as things stand, it could be the one to save us all." The way she said it sounds so specific, as if she KNOWS the Chaos Emeralds and the weaponry they have at there disposal isn't enough. She knows it'll get the job done, but she also knows she's not making it out alive. And that was just one simulation! She likely didn't have time to run any more simulations in between Sonic leaving Rhea Island and reaching Ouranos. Who's to say more people won't survive or if it'll work even at all? That's why she specified "save us all." She's not going to risk anyone else's lives or her own life before she even gets to start it. And in the end, the final plan worked, hence why Sage is so overjoyed in the end that she gets to go home in one piece! Anyways, that's something to consider. Probably won't know until the next game! But if it ends up being that the original ending is never spoken of again, I'm sticking with this! BUT HEY, THAT'S JUST A- ([{THE FOLLOWING LINE HAS BEEN OBSTRUCTED DUE TO A LACK OF AFFILIATION WITH THE GAME THEORISTS}])
I truly think The End was playing mind games from the start because it KNEW Sonic was far above it, think about it, it mentions all his past battles and wins and then claims they are nothing to itself, sounds desperate to me. But the question is, HOW is Sonic powerful enough to stop this thing that the ancients could barely contain and wipe themselves to do so? my theory is simple, he is a natural Order in the Chaos, a being capable of harnessing the near limitless power of the Chaos Emeralds and most important of all, controlling that chaos and giving it to others, that's why Super Sonic 2 won, all that power barely controlled unleashed in single shot which dispersed The Ends entire being. It also show how hard this was for Sonic, he is battle damaged, something we have never seen in Super Sonic until now.

I’m glad you liked it 👍🏻
I’m a much bigger fan of the new ending, but I do miss the monologue
I kind of missed the hopeless atmosphere of the game's original ending.
I think the new ending is better in terms of gameplay, but this one is better in terms of the story.
Finally! Some one mixed The monologue dialogue's at the right moment.
"And you?" Drops at the perfect moment.
Sonic: He took your homes, he took your lives. Are you gonna let him do it all over again? I need your help. We can end this.
Man this game was awesome and the soundtrack was on point too
The End = Queen Beryl (Since Cindy Robinson voiced Amy Rose in Sonic and Queen Beryl in Sailor Moon)
I wish we got more lore about THE END

YEAH I’M GONNA INCORPORATE THIS THEORY INTO MY SONIC SERIES WORLDVIEW! THANK YOU!
@@GreenEyedPsycho Cheers, mate.
Yes! I love this explanation so much
@@comet_system Cheers to you as well!
need this exact same edit but at the beginning you include sonics line right before the fight that would go so unnecessarily hard
