    If you watched Kara and Nate's latest video then you saw their stay at a private island resort on the beautiful Calala Island…a stay that like Nate said would usually cost $12,000 for a four night stay but they paid precisely $0…so I'm going to walk you through the entire process so that you can do the exact same thing from how to earn points and which cards to get all the way through the actual booking process

    I would love to know how many points Kara and Nate currently have on their cards. They seem to use their miles and points a lot. So I am curious as to how much they pay for out of pocket versus using miles/points. Or perhaps a video on how to earn the most points. We have, between my husband and I, the Chase Reserve, Preferred, Venture X. American Airlines Advantage and Platinum Amex. I find that once we use the card bonus, it takes us awhile to re-accumulate the points. Perhaps a how to get the most bang for your buck video!

    This is such amazing content and information! I always have questions and uncertainty behind credit cards but definitely getting more confident since Kara and Nate and also Daily Drop. Biggest question's which may have been answered is: Is this only related to US credit cards and what if you are from somewhere else (Australia). Does the same information apply but different credit cards? 🤔 Thanks so much for information Brendan!

    • @shadowqueen99
      @shadowqueen99 Год назад

      Unfortunately the rules are different here in Australia- in the US signing up for multiple credit cards actually helps your credit score, but not in Australia. Here it will harm your score. So I would recommend doing your research and finding the best credit card for you with the best rewards program. I would also recommend signing up for frequent flyer programs and reward cards like Flybuys etc. I've been able to transfer my flybuys points over to my velocity account and that has been helping me to accumulate travel points, I can also transfer my credit card points over to velocity as well.

Do you close the ones that you really don't benefit from? Do you get the promotional points and close? Asking for a friend 😅

    So if you earn the signup bonus of 80,000 points, you would have enough points to stay at that particular hotel on Calala island for 2 nights, if I’m understanding correctly. Which would be a savings of over $6000. That’s pretty impressive. However, there’s still the matter of how in the world you’d get there, and 2 nights is not very long…. Signup bonuses are awesome and all but that just gives you a one time chunk of points to use on a portion of one vacation then…
    Also, I’m from Canada so I would love to hear about a credit card that is worth it to get and available for non us residents 😅

Once you have the welcome offer, it takes a long time to build back up points. It will take the average person a few years to get points built up for something like this.

They could probably achieve this trip ONCE with the sign up bonus.. ( that y'all seem to be pushing) but that's probably it... The focus on the highest credit score possible is truly a wonderful testament to the credit bureaus advertising. What's the point of having a high credit score if you aren't going to actually use it? Unless you are actively purchasing a home/car your credit is sitting there doing nothing, and most people aren't trying to purchase those items every year. Yes, your score will drop when opening a new card but it will quickly rebound within a few months if you are using it responsibly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that you all don't want to dive into the world of award points, more availability to me.

      It’s not just buying a home or car. Most landlords these days check your credit before renting to you. Insurance companies can also check and offer you better rates. In many states, employers can use it to hire and promote. In reality, one’s credit score can be used for or against them.
