It freaks me out to think of how many hours he spent practicing his bizarre tricks. I think he was probably one of the most unique magicians I've ever seen and something of a genius with regards to magic engineering. The Mullica wallet is one of the best magic apparatus and his legacy to magicians 🙏 He's a giant whose shoulders we stand on.
Acts that mix sideshow stuff and magic are some of my favourites. People like David Blaine, Brian Brushwood, Derren Brown, Tom Mullica and P&T all used this to make unforgettable performances. I hope to come up with something like that one day.
The clip you shown is from “stuff the white rabbit” which aired in U.K. about 25 years ago late at night. Also I believe it was the last time he ever performed the cigarette trick. A great show with probably the most seen performances of Jerry Sadowitz also.
there's an interview/show on YT with Tom Mullica (with a memorable haircut) that's more than half an hour long, one of the best half an hour you can spend. the dude was a legend.
The paper of the cigarette will stick to something wet -> He can transport cigarettes between his lips and the back of the mouth somehow -> He seals the cigarettes by stuffing napkins in his mouth -> He swallows it all! Very simple trick.
