I disagree, with modern cars there's no advantage to a manual transmission. You never hear about automatic transmission failures in a 4cyl Toyota or Honda, and with those of fluid change is only a couple hundred bucks versus possibly over a thousand for a clutch. Not everyone can drive a manual, and somebody who's just learn it can go through a clutch rather quickly.

I daily a 4k truck that I drove til the literal wheels fell off, then I bolted them back on and kept going (toyota ball joints). I could purchase several 5-7k vehicles in cash but I honestly enjoy driving older vehicles that just run. I dont need fancy navi, or heated seats, etc etc. Every month my friends and coworkers pay $400-600 for their car and I put that money into retirement accounts

I have a 14000 car loan. Should I just pay a thousand a month to pay it off in 14 months? Or should I save money, buy a car for 6000, then sell my current car and take out a loan for the remaining balance to pay off the rest of the car loan?
I don't understand why people think if a car is less than $30k that it's gonna leave them stranded on the road. I've had a 2001 subaru for 5 years. I just sold my 2006 Chevy Cobalt supercharged SS for $4k. The car has been babied since I bought it, only had 78,000 miles. still looks and runs great. The only reason I sold it was that my home was looking like a used car lot. Bottom line is that you can get a super nice car for few $$$ if you look around a bit.
Materialism and listening to people. Get far away from these peeps. Take this quote "If the whole world was blind, how many people would you impress?"
4:15 im 28 years old not exactly rolling in the money but i have zero debt and am about to put 20% down on my first house. Aiming small for my first house as I'm single and would like to pay it off in 10 years. I am a huge fan of the 5-7k vehicle and own quite a few. Im a former mechanic.
SH!T SO HAVE MOST OF US 🤷♂️😂😂😂😂 But you can get through this Just Like the Rest of Us.....🤞
Thats a bad word!
👍
i am just so grateful that she is not consulting these mean commenters here, so obnoxious and proud as if they know it all. maybe thats why Dave Ramsey gets so much success and respect while these commenters are just nobody and so desperately to leave comments here hoping to be heard. the fact is, no one cares about what you say anyways.
Getting a 32k car loan when you have 100k in student loan?
4:00 this dude Dave is a badass 😂😂
Mr. R , few people listen good Advice .
Worth $4k and its never had a repair over $300 and never more often than once every 6 months. And the issues have never been so major that I couldn't drive it to the shop.
She wont sell her car, you can hear that in her voice.
It's too late. Get into more debt baby!!!
The fact she couldnt say the first step tells me she is not serious or committed to this. She also said she is at a point where she has to address it, but then hesitates on selling a car she knows she cant afford. Debt is a hellava drug.
Pay yourself first!!!!
She is not selling that car 😂😂😂
Don't put on the red light!
🗣SHE AIN’T GON SELL THAT CAR DAVE.
this sounds so harsh and judgemental she bothered to read the book and even make a call to dave, she is desperate enough. aren;t you a christian? why dont you pray for her instead of pointing fingers as if you know it all?
An $5k-$10k is literally a regular mint car, no regular person that does not love cars should have any more then a $5k-$10k car, it is completely useless.
Had to be Tampa. These people around here are disasters in general.
She’s not selling her car. She sounds like she loves her car. It sounds like she just bought it!! She can barely afford it and has over $100k but refuses to sell her car! She’s going back o be in debt for the rest of her life. She’s not taking Dave’s advice.
I completely agree. The gratis offer for online tuition is wasted on her too.
didn't sound like it to me either that she was selling
shes living the american dream life in debt
I drive a 2003 Chevy s-10. Come at me bro!
I love you dave
Nice one
I love Dave ..!!! This car is ridiculous!! Man nothing better then just paying for a car cash
So glad I’m 20 going through college debt free. Sucks I cant really invest but I don’t make much so I’ll survive for a few years and then get in retirement attack mode.
“Roxaaannnneeeeee” 🎶
I think I need Dave Ramsey help 🖐😭
I've been surprised what a nice car you can get for $7k!
PLEASE GIVE HER FREE ACCESS TO FPU! (Edit: He did it! She's going to slash her debt!)
Looking at cars in the 3-4 range. You can get you a solid reliable and maybe somewhat appealing car for 7
She's not doing it
I've driven a $2,500.00 car for 2 years with only one $18 dollar repair.
