Святослав Рихтер - Гайдн - Haydn Keyboard Concerto no. 11 in D major, Hob.XVIII:11 Видеоклипы
Richter's clarity is astonishing. Every note rings out precisely and the whole concerto flows like water.
Wow! Only Richter can play the Richter way to bring justice to this remarkable Concerto by the master Haydn!
Excellent playing of Minsk chamber orchestra. I am impressed
Thank you for music!!! Bravo Haydn Bravo Richter!!!
Richter preferred Haydn to Mozart and had the courage to say so
Maybe Richter loved Haydn's humor and more "rustic" style than Mozart's perfect elegance. Mozart is champagne, Haydn is a robust beer...I like both!
Richter's performance makes my soul refresh vividly..Thank you for rare precious video. ^*^
Definitely brilliant! Sound quality is very good. I'm happy to see Richter play the great piece.
A very snappy performance that is unique
Magnificient.
Wonderful!!!! All concerto double!!!!
Unique exemptions ofConcert's Rendition! Bravissimo! Thanks for that video!
Incredibile!!

That middle movement made my day...maybe my week.
Unforgettable Haydn, unforgettable Richter!

Great Richter. 👍 Thank you so much.
Amazing! Haydn played like never before.
He gets into the music so that, the music can get into him.
Good job Richter!!!!
Gracias, Fantastica versión
THANK YOU!
¡Maravilloso Richter!
Bravo !!!!!!!!!
John Malkovich is the guy who should play in Richter's biography movie
May be....
Mil gracias
-- Extraordinaire Richter. --
The only person on youtube so far who REALLY plays the MUSIC!!!!!! of this piece. gorgepus!
@@naturalississimo , you are absolutely right!
Thanks. This concerto is wonderful, and he doesn’t feel compelled to play too fast, to show off. Wonderful!
@@naturalississimo I played this as a child and I remember how hard it was to keep the tempo steady and give each note its due. The urge is to make it fly!
@@giovanna722 yes, youth often tends towards rushing and overly fast tempos, but here, Richter is a seasoned performer, and he understands the structure and content and character of the music. It was hard to find a really musical performance of this, but Richter’s is great. It is a delightful piece, and that comes through with Richter, who plays other Haydn pieces beautifully as well.
Magnifico ¡¡¡

nice
Good
Music making of the very highest order.
Twice the same concerto!
34:25, couldn't hide his own distaste for the smudged note.
Danny B. It's true. He grimaced at that wrong note. There were others but his face was not on camera to capture. A true "orangutan" of a man. My recollection at the RFH in 1961. I was but 12!!!
Even in the gnashing of teeth, you can feel the famous power of Richter.
Terrific!
It seems to me he's leading the orchestra; almost as though they are being kept on their toes
Entrancing! Richter must be channeling Haydn himself.
Big Hands.
Please,are all 3 movements "allegro'?
And :what kind/brand of piano is this?
Thanks in advance.
Haydn makes little jokes in his music
Also I ask, who wrote the cadenza?
William Shakespeare Haydn himself!
@@andymilsten9096 No, That's not the original cadenza, i have the sheet with the cadenza wroten by Haydn.

Yes but who decide to encore the concerto. It's weird.
Cosi all of us.
The audience
@@luka6227 So you were there. I would have lose my mind if I had the chance to hear Richter live. But did you see that often, I mean playing the whole concerto again as an encore ? This is very generous. I mean I never saw this, maybe in Russia this is something musicians do ?
Cosi it’s very unusual anywhere for a whole concerto to be encored. The nearest I experienced to that was in 1970 when Radu Lupu came to the Guildhall in Cambridge to play the Emperor Concerto with a student orchestra, not long after he won the Leeds competition. He played the last movement again as an encore. It was a thrilling concert. The conductor was Anthony Beaumont, now a distinguished musicologist, I believe. Richter was not always generous with encores, and notably refused to play any after his Mozart and Chopin recital at the Barbican in the late 80s (which I attended), probably because he was angry about aspects of the lighting and the filming of the recital.
Can you tell me what you meant by: (yes, this is a girl who - "Of course I believe you")?
@@petkoff42 Ohoh) Surely!
In the USSR there was a good kind children's film about space travel. Very popular, all the children knew him then.
Lyudmila Berlinskaya played there when she was a girl)
And she sang a beautiful good song about magic and pure love - "Of course I believe you".

Why did he read the sheet music?
In his own words age reduced his ability to memorize the music so he thought it was better to use the sheet music rather stop doing concerts. Anyway, it sounds the same with or without the score so its not important :)
How many concertos have you memorized?
Secondo tempo frettoloso e poco meditato!
he's gay? according to whom & where to read more about it?
He is more German than Ukrainian. His father collaborated with Nazi.
