These acoustic performances with the accordian are too amazing to not make an album out of. So, Mr. Ness and co. if you have a few free days this year please put all of these onto record! The fans will thank you!
2009 was a rough year being a victim of the economy. It made me change my outlook on life and this song is precious to me. Also glad it's easy to play.
Gretchen Long I don't think I have met a woman yet in my life who didn't feel the same way about Mike Ness. Both my wives(exes) and all my girlfriends pretty much said if he approached and bought a drink, they would let him do whatever he wanted with them. Now, I'm 100% straight male but it's not hard for me to understand that at all. The man is rather short in stature but a tough guy with a big heart and honest about his feelings as well. As he says at some of their shows, "Even tough guys fall in love."
@Peedr You're listening to it. It's this recording. They played this in Seattle, but plugged in. Still had the accordion as well as the fiddle player from the Chuck Ragan band.
I know and arrogant old man who had retired healthy with a few big houses and a new car every 18 months. He never had time for anyone middle class and lower. I saw him working as a clerk at Walgreens the other day and he's 80 years old. It's a good lesson in humility and I was looking at him thinking, "Welcome to rock bottom."
Did anyone get the version of Down Here (With the Rest Of Us) from the deluxe version of Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes? How is it? Is it acoustic like the one in this video?

to put the food on the table

you might lose now
your beautiful children

your loved ones

No ones immune now
to a world of problems
no ones exempt now
from a world of pain
that's the way that it goes
when you're down here with the rest of us
I try hard now
to do the right thing
yet i wonder
why i still do what's wrong

when you're down here with the rest of us
that's the way that it goes
and i know how you feel

How is this a cover?
Dennis Danell died in 2000, who is that other guitarist and if he's Dennis how is this recorded in 2010?
That's Jonny "Two Bags" Wickersham, been with them since Dennis' passing, was a long time friend of the band.
