Cool (and fairly easy). I noticed my struts had given up on holding the hood open on my C6 yesterday when replacing the air filters.

    Good video!
Only problem I had was, when I closed my hood, it didn’t line up perfectly. They seem too strong or something. Any ideas?

      Hello Chris,
It technically shouldn't go out of alignment - but let's diagnose a few things. Were the hinge and latch R/R? Were the struts installed in the right direction - they likely were since the manufacturer created two different size ball sockets on either end. Is it fully clipped in - do you recall hearing the clicking sound (similar to the sound in the video). Lastly, stronger doesn't always mean better, so you maybe correct if the Force Newtons are too much. Mine is a C6 and here are the specs to match against yours, just incase:
      Extended Length A [in]: 15.25
      Stroke C [in]: 3.50
      Compressed Length B [in]: 11.75
      Force (Lbs): 54
      Force Newtons: 240
Shaft Connection: Ball Socket U Band (Nylon)=10mm=3/8"=.39"
Body Connection: Ball Socket U Band (Nylon)=8mm=5/16"=.32"
      Rod Diameter (MM): 8
      Cylinder Diameter (MM): 19
Hope this helps Chris - please keep me posted.
