HonestJohn.co.uk I found out last week that some tattoo ink is metallic and some people have experienced 3rd degree burns when having an MRI because of that. Shocking really.

Got to remember the car will hold it's money better your kindah paying for the tech it would take longer to recoup the difference between petrol model but your helping the environment in the end it does end up being cheaper because of running cost.

Oh, and, one more thing...this car is not too expensive - if there is / was a waiting list for it, that would suggest that Hyundai got the price just right. Remember, they are a for profit organisation. I don't see waiting lists for Alfa Romeo Stelvios.

Oh wow. I’m all for EVs and have a reservation for an ID.3 but here in Norway the prices are similar to a conventional car in the same class. I couldn’t see myself buying a £40k kona when ICE cars for the same price are so attractive.
Adrian Mills Isn't Norway banning all gas and diesel vehicles by a specific date? Why not invest in the future instead of dumpimg money into an outdated inefficient polluting noisy and respiratory system health risk fossil fuel burning dinosaur? The actual hidden costs of owning an ICE vehicle include a lot of factors that are not on the sticker price. If they were, that same ICE vehicle would (should?) cost double or more. So, if you are, as you say, "all for EVs" you might rethink the "bargain" that you are getting by buying the cheaper gas/diesel vehicle and pay extra for the vehicle that makes more sense, in almost every aspect. Thanks mate. Short version: I had a boring job and used to waste time reading all the car magazines. I left that job and decided to have a crack at this, so I went to university to study journalism, got work placements, worked hard, got lucky...here I am. I never thought I'd end up presenting car videos. :-D

I actually like the look of both the interior and exterior of this car but the scary price and low range (of even the top spec model) completely put me off.
You didn't mention the biggest problem, other than cost, you can't get one , also they keep jacking the price up. Because of that I'm out !

You should really have checked, by the time this video is out the 39kwh has been discontinued and the prices have gone up by over £2k

@@HonestJohncouk2000 HonestJohn.co.uk you mentioned the 39kw being discontinued yes, I missed that bit. But the new pricing has been out for a fortnight now, and the new pricing puts the Premium SE at a list price around £41k which is also premium car tax territory.
And the price includes the £3,500 grant. So the actual price is over £40k. Which mean instead of not paying VED. You will be paying it. In Aug 2018 the list price for the 64kWh was a tad under £30k. In a little over 12mths, the rrp has risen by £12k. Great car yes but far too expensive. You can now get a Tesla Model 3 for less money.

@@rogerstarkey5390 - have you tried using batteries in cold temperatures? I have and do - as a photographer and they do not last as long in cold weather.
@@rogerstarkey5390 Unless you're planning on not using heating of any kind or lights then cold weather will definitely deplete your battery.
@@Zerofightervi - forget about any additional load, batteries lives effectiveness in extreme weather. Exacerbated as you note by additional loads.
@@grahamjones2759 This is what worries me about EVs, when you can run a EV as easily as a conventional vehicle then we'll know it's worth taking the plunge.
Until then I'll stick with my Diesel.

Drive a 1.5 TDCi Fiesta Titanium for 200k miles - cost: £50.000 minimum, most likely more. Now guess what I prefer to drive ;)

In terms of innovation we may as well be wearing the doggy "Collar of shame" right now.
We think electric is the way to go and it's doing us good even though it's just ridiculous but we try to ignore how silly our efforts are.
Then when we grow up in 25 years time we'll look back on electric cars and the shame of over reacting and accept electric was not the way to go after all - certainly not in 2020 when we really didn't have the technology to suite our 'Eco-warrior' guilt.

Obviously you've never driven a Tesla model S p100d. It is one of the most exhilarating cars I've ever driven granted in a different way to TVR's Porches M series BMWs. You're comparing a 2 seat open top fun car to a family 5 door so it's not a fair comparison. The future is more depressing if we keep driving petrols/diesels as we won't have a future...

EV can suck it for that price. They are so boring and lackluster in feeling, why would you pay so much money for a basic transport vehicle. Even RnD is low since manufacturers don't do their own batteries. Half the price, maybe. This price - a laugh! Oh, and it is unendingly ugly!
